The One Who Wasn't Chosen

The propechy clearly states that the heir of Holden Din would save our world from The Jacks.

Katerina Enstire works for Cole Din, the heir of Holden Din. Katerina knows, he's supposed to save the world. But, he obviously won't. He's too selfish, too full of himself to acutally do anything. As Cole "stays oblivious" to the world that doesn't revolve around him, that world gets worse. People protest, and die within seconds. The Jacks are becoming more and more angry. But what can Katerina do? She isn't the Chosen One.

A/N: OK, so I don't know if I can keep this story up, so if I don't finish it, and if you like it, you can have it. ONLY IF I SAY IT IS OK! Thanks! Make sure you tell me what you think!

2. Chapter 2

A banging on the front door caught my attention. I was making breakfast for Cole, like I always do. I walked to the door and looked at the camera. There were a lot of people, so many I couldn't count. I moved in front of the door and opened it slightly.

"Yes?" I asked the first person. This person is what rich people call a Vax. I dunno why, it's really rude.

"Where is Cole? Why won't he help us?" the person asked. She started crying a little, too.

"I honestly don't know," I said. She started crying harder, but she didn't sob. I opened the door more and pulled her into a hug.

"Thank you," she said. She looked at me with grey eyes, unlike the vivid ones I'm used to.

"I didn't do anything," I said.

"You told us the truth."

"I can tell you all more, only if you like."

"We'd all like to know what's actually going on," an old man, looking around 80, said.

"Cole doesn't care about helping you. He cares only about himself. Once the Jacks win, he says, he's gonna throw me out on the street," I said. Many gasps came from the crowd.

"But, he's the only one to defeat them!," someone else said.

"I'm so sorry," I said. "You all shouldn't have to go through hell just to get freedom. Or food for that matter." Then an idea struck in my mind. I ran to the kitchen and grabbed plenty of food.

"What's this?" the woman asked when I came back.

"Food. Take it. Distribute it as best you can. You are all good people and you shouldn't be neglected."

"Thank you!" some people yelled. Others said I was their savior. It felt good, doing something about this whole thing.

I was sitting on the front porch later that night, thinking about what I did for the people. Mason and Pandora were walking by.

"Hey Kat," Mason said.

"Hi," I said, not moving my gaze from the pavement.

"Everything OK?" Pandora asked.

"Yeah. I was just thinking about something I did earlier."

"What did you do?" Mason asked, sounding alarmed.

"I helped people. You know the poorer people," I said.

"That's great!" Pan said(Short for Pandora).

"I told them not to keep their trust in Cole," I stated. They both looked at me with great shock.

"What?!"

"Well, that's basically what I told them. I just told them the truth. They actually seemed pretty happy about it. Well, that I told them the truth and I gave them food."

"What does Cole think about all the missing food?" Mason inquired.

"I dunno. I haven't seen Cole at all today. Which is weird because he always has something for me to do for him."

"Strange." We sat their in silence, until I got a crazy idea.

"What if I said I was going to do what Cole is supposed to do?" I asked, splitting the silence.

"Are you crazy or something?" Pan said in disbelief.

"Just thinking out loud," I said, waving the idea off like it was a fly. Or at least I was trying to sound like that.
