The Criminal's Journal

"Hey Kid. You forgot this!"
She yelled waving the notebook vigorously in the air.
She was too late, he had already left the bus.
Shianna shrugged, not really caring about the forgotten journal
But little did she know, that journal would change her life

35. Blame

The doorbell rang. I knew exactly who it was, it was Justin. My dad made his way down the stairs, the baseball bat clutched to his chest. The door flew open revealing Justin.

I stood at the top of the staires as they gave each other death glares. Justin's eyes were red and puffy. You could tell he had been crying. Justin disconnected his eyes from my father, and attach them on me. He wiggled his finger telling me to come down the stairs. I obeyed.

He grasped my hand and pulled me out of the door, dragging me too the car. My father didn't even put up a fight. I smiled getting into the black range rover. The engine roared to life, and he backed the car out of my driveway.

"What did you want to tell me?" I asked.

"You remember that gang, The east coast assassins?" He asked not taking his eyes off the road. I nodded, then he continued. "They the-" he stuttered, I could tell this wasn't going to end well. "They killed Za and Twist" he pulled over the car and cried into my chest.

"it's all my fault" he sobbed. "If I hadn't have left they would've still been living" I rubbed his hair for comfort.

"it's not your fault, baby" I said.

He lifted his head from my chest.

"You're right." He said "it's not my fault. It's yours" he clenched his teeth

"What?" I said. I was taken back by his anger. "How is it my fault?" I yelled.

"I was leaving to go to your house, when they were killed. Then Ryan called and told me that they were shot. Then that's when I called you" he explained.

"So you're saying this is my fault?" I asked, tears forming in my eyes.

"That's exactly what I'm saying!" he yelled.

"Fuck you Justin, Fuck you" I hissed, in between sobs. He placed the key back in the ignition. And started off on the road again.

I should've just left that journal on the bus. I wish I never got involved with him.
