7. Chapter 7

After a while, Zayn led me back inside of his apartment. It was really dark so I couldn't see as much. He chuckled as I stumbled into a lamp before turning on the lights.

Zayn started a quest to find some clean clothes. A white t-shirt was picked up only for it to be dropped back to the floor after Zayn sniffed at the fabric. I followed him around the bed.

"Do you want to come to the warehouse with me?" He asked staring at me.

"You want me to watch you fight." I anxiously interrogated.

"When I'm there and I don't want to watch then what should I do?"

"I don't know, girly stuff." He spoke, rummaging around in a drawer. "Women always find something to do."

"I think that generalization is a little wide."

"Zayn turned when he failed to receive the laugh he was hoping for, peering at me for a few moments before closing the space between us.

Zayn smiled before he made his way to the bathroom. It only took a few minutes to make myself a more presentable, finding some clothes that I had left at his place from the previous visits. The shirt remained, but it was paired with a vest top underneath. My hair was left in my messy pony tail. Until I had a shower there wasn't much I could do about it. My jeans were about wriggled up on my legs.

I went to the bathroom to brush my teeth, but there was no toothbrush I had to use my finger. After I brush my teeth I spotted Zayn in the living room, his back to the doorframe. A pair of sweats had been tugged up Zayn's lower half leaving his stunning torso on show. I couldn't understand his characteristics quite well until my eyes fell upon the two women he was focusing on. I had an awful feeling I was interrupting the conversation that had ceased upon my arrival. But the uncertainty didn't last long.

I felt disoriented, having no clue what was going on.

"I'm so glad I found you." The older one quietly cried while giving Zayn a squeeze.

"Mum."

The woman was still lovely latched onto Zayn as I moved forward to them.

"Mum." He almost whined, clearly somewhat embarrassed by his mother's startling gesture.

"Alaina, this my mum, Christina and my sister Perrie." He gesture his hand. "Mum this is, Alaina she is-" I cut him off before he finished.

"His girlfriend." I say.

Zayn just smile but I saw confusion in his eyes.

"How long have you been dating?" She asked.

"So many months that I don't know." I lied.

"You never told me you were stopping by." He said.

"Well, I wanted to see you because I was worried."

"It's lovely to meet you both." I smiled.

"You too, Hunny" As she smiles the bags under her orbs crinkled.

We were silent for a few moments, Zayn's arm drifting to fit around my back, fingers carefully stroking in an effort to relax. Two sets of eyes were intently staring at us, smiling at the gentle affection being given. Their curious gazes led me to assume that they weren't used to seeing this side of Zayn. I wondered if they had ever seen him with a girl at all.

"You guys looked all dress and nice. Are you going anywhere?" Zayn's mum asked.

"Yeah, going to the warehouse downtown. Wanna come?" He asked pulling out the keys to the motorcycle.

"Umm, sure." Perrie replied with a slight smile.

"Can I talk to Zayn alone for a little?" I ask the mother of my new boyfriend.

"Sure, of course we don't mind." She crinkle her eyes.

I tugged Zayn to his bedroom shutting the door from behind.

"Oh my god." I grumbled, flopping back to the bed with my hands concealing my face. "I can't believe that just happened."

"I feel so embarrassed." I say.

Why was he not feeling the same sense of guilt I was? My hands were taken, hoisting me up from the mattress. A kiss pressed to my cheek as I frowned into our hug. The gesture put me somewhat at ease.

Zayn guide me back to the living room where his mother and sister stood by the door.

"Shall we get going." I say gesturing my hand to the door.

***

I sat on a bench and listen to stories being told about Zayn.

"What was Zayn like when he was a teen?" I asked without getting too carry away with his childhood.

"I guess like other teenagers really, always grumpy and had a bit of a temper. He needs to control himself."

Christina spoke.

I get real cautious about Perrie. She looks nothing like Zayn. Her hair had a bit of a wave with hot pink at the ends, the rest blonde.

"He used to always black out for a few hours." Perrie casually interjecting.

"Really? That explains why...." My voice trailed off. "Sorry, never mind."

I gazed my eyes at Zayn whose putting on red gloves. The kind much bigger than what I wear in winter.

His opponent across him was an inch shorter than Zayn. But had muscles with veins popping out all across his arms.

"I see that Zayn is into boxing and it's his job, but does he get into fights that's not in the warehouse?"

I had no idea how to answer their anxious question. I only been with Zayn for a few days. It was a little upsetting to see the concern in their eyes. Zayn obviously hadn't opened up completely to them about the life he started without them.

She turned her momentarily to Zayn whose throwing punches at the man's stomach.

I shook my head as an answer.

Multiple sighs of relief were heard upon receiving my answer.

"That's good to know."

The mood appeared to lighten with the information.

"Did he have them regularly, the black outs?"

"They weren't that frequent, it was just when feels a little sick or when he's crying for awhile." Jess looked thoughtful for a second.

I asked a few more inquisitive questions, interested to learn more about what Zayn had suffered.

It was at that point Zayn decided to join us at the benches.

I could tell by the look on his face that he was excited at the knowledge of us getting along. I found myself grinning with him as he walked me backwards into the corridor.

"I'm going to have a shower in the men's locker room."

"Alright."

I spun around back to the giant room with boxing ring, and Zayn's mother and sister.

"Alaina what are you doing this summer?" Perrie asked, she gave me a beaming smile.

"I'm actually moving out of my mum's before summer starts, so it's going to be fun."
