11. What Draco "Saw" and the Hospital Wing

What Draco said was true, Lupin had sent Lea to the Hospital Wing. Only, the way he said it, Lupin had been the reason that Lea had to go to the Hospital Wing.

Severus stood up too quickly for his chair which clattered to the floor. "What happened," he asked with fury in his voice, making it shake.

"Yes, I am wondering that as well. Please fill us in as we go and up to see her," Dumbledore said as he began a calm walk out of the door.

"Well, she went to give some sorta potion to Professor Lupin. Suddenly, he got mad and started yelling at her. We had met in the hall, she was carrying the potion. I was going back to the common room when I heard the yelling and went to see what was wrong," Draco explained.

"Were you just hoping that she had gotten in trouble," Dumbledore asked Draco. He didn't seem at all upset.

Draco didn't bother to answer the question, everyone knowing the answer.

"Any way, he was really angry and Lea was backing away. Next I know, the potion was all over Lea, and she was turning colors. She ran out of the room, Lupin asked were she was going and she yelled back to the Hospital Wing 'So don't come near or I will yell.'

"Then I ran down to get Professor Snape," Draco finished.

Meanwhile in the Hospital Wing, Madame Pomfrey was perplexed. Lea was yellow and red. She had never seen anything like this before.

To her, it was worse than when the Weasley boy came here claiming to have bitten by a dog. She quickly got Lea in and out o a shower and into a change of clothes which were soaking wet.

Using what was on the clothing to trying to figure out what had caused this, she rung out a little and cast a spell. The substance glowed a dark hot pink then changed to a soft blue.

This could only mean one thing, this was Lupin's potion. But what was it doing all over Lea.

Lea was more focused on the smell that was emanating from her. Also, her skin was beginning to burn while her eyes were trying to bulge out of their sockets. Or, at least, that's what it felt like.

Even after the shower, which did help, and the clothes, she still felt bad. The smell was getting stronger and only then did she notice that it was coming from her hair.

She groaned and Madame Pomfrey immediately went to work. She whipped her wand around, pointing it at a rag and a basin. Both floated to the side of Lea's cot.

Lea saw Madame Pomfrey walk into a small closet and emerge moments later with a pitcher full of a dark scarlet red powder.

She pored half of a cup into the water basin and mixed with her wand. About two minutes later, a dark blood red paste came out.

Madame Pomfrey started to sneer this all over Lea's exposed skin, then add ind more of the powder before smothering her hair in the paste.

Lea was left like this for almost five minutes. She had just fallen asleep, finally comfortable, when Madame Pomfrey came back, this time with a lime green liquid and an eye dropper.

Gently, without waking Lea, she opened each of her eyes, dropping half of the small cup of liquid into each eye.

About thirty seconds later, Severus and Dumbledore, followed by Draco entered the Hospital Wing. Severus gasped at the sight of a blood red covered Lea, asleep. She could have been dead because her breathing was so shallow.

Draco took a step back and covered his mouth with his hand. He hadn't realized that she would look like this. It looked far more serious than he thought.

It was more serious, but not life threatening. It would have been worse if Lupin hadn't told her to go to the Hospital. Madame Pomfrey quickly swept in as the door slammed into the wall behind it.

Lea groaned and fidgeted as she got comfortable again. Madame Pomfrey quietly shooed the group out into the hall an closed the door.

As Lea slept, she dreamt that she was running in the Forest with the unicorn that she had met last year.

Out in the hall Severus was pacing back and forth as Madame Pomfrey began to talk. She barely drew a breath when Severus started bombarding her with question.

"What happened, what's wrong with her and above all will she be all right," Severus asked as quietly as possible, which wasn't quiet at all.

"Miss Talbot will be fine. Remus' potion was spilled on her some how and she had an ugly reaction, the strongest I've ever seen. The worst that will happen is that she'll be out of class for a few days, which I highly doubt," Madame Pomfrey explained.

Draco hung his head a bit lower than usual, guilty that he had cause so much more damage than what he expected, but at the same time, not sorry at all about the fact that she was sent to the Hospital Wing.

"Please do tell us what you think happened to make her react so strongly," Dumbledore told Madame Pomfrey.

"It probably has to do with an allergy or some sensitivity to something in the potion. You should know headmaster, the only way that Lea could have gotten that much of the potion on her and on her clothing would be to have someone dump it purposely on her. Without her expecting it," she said, guiding their attention to the imbedded meaning. If Lea had seen it coming, she would have blocked it with her magic.

Both Professors nodded in understanding. Lupin was looking more and more guilty by the second. Severus was about to drag him here for torture when Dumbledore caught his eye, giving his head the smallest of shakes.

Severus in return barely nodded. "I will go and collect Lupin to see what his side of the story is," Dumbledore said about to walk off.

"What story," asked a figure walking up the stairs. "Severus, there you are, I've been looking for you, but I can't imagine why you two are here,"Lupin said with slight surprise at the sight of Dumbledore and Draco outside the infirmary.
