7. Potions and Lupin

As it turned out, Draco thought that it was Harry that made Buckbeak try and kill him. He was too dense to figure out that it was because he had decided to insult the intelligent creature. After Lea had put Draco's things by his bed, he did something surprising. He mumbled a thank you. Lea guessed that he hit his head when he fell.

Lea went to lunch and sat by herself again. No one went by her, even the other houses gave her a wide berth. All but Harry who nodded to her as he passed. Ron and Hermione gave her a strange look as if they thought she had put Buckbeak up to trying to kill, or at least seriously injure, Draco.

Muggle Studies was boring and easily done. She found it interesting how wizards didn't understand how things worked with electricity. The whole first class was explaining electricity and what it was, followed by where it came from. That would also cover the next lesson and then how it is used. There was no homework and Lea hadn't gotten any yet.

She sighed when she got into the Potion's room, happy that it was her last class of the day. Severus came in silently with silence following him. He turned to the group and glared at them.

"Let's see how much of what I taught you last year is still in your pathetic little minds, shall we? The directions are on the board, begin," Severus said, flicking his wand.

They were to do the most complicated potion from last year. They all ran to the supplies cabinet, knowing that it would take all the time in double potions lesson to get it done in time.

Lea held back and waited for a path to clear to the supplies. There was just barely enough ingredients for her to make the potion. She walked calmly back to her seat and put her colder on on the fire.

The directions said to put the ingredients in than bring it to a boil. Lea found that if she cut and mashed her ingredients and than added them to a hot steaming pot that was just barely below a boil the potion would be done nearly half an hour quicker.

Some other shortcuts she had found were to cut the dandelion roots down in the middle length wise, not to let the liquid cool down and also to add a pinch of wolfsbane to help it get to the correct dark green color.

With all her short cuts, Lea was almost done with her potion in about an hour, half the time allotted to finish. Just as she was filling her vile, Draco came in.

He came in groaning with his arm in a sling. Severus assigned Ron to help get Draco caught up with the class. Ron, none to happy about this, told him what to do. Soon Draco started whining to Severus about how he needed help chopping his dandelion roots.

Ron quickly cuts them and is forced to give his, Ron had been working on them for almost fifteen minutes, to Draco and got Draco's roots. Ron tried to fix Draco's roots without any success.

Draco didn't have to work the whole Potions lesson, and after turning her potion in, Lea had nothing to do.she watched as Severus went around the room and looked at all the potions. Hermione was the only one that made a perfect potion while following the directions to the letter.

Draco's potion was sizzling and blue by the end of the lesson. He played the I-was-late-to-class-and-am-injured card. Lea rolled her eyes at the excuse.

"Lea, stay after. I have a job for you," Severus said as everyone began to file out. Harry gave her an odd look and walked out.

"What's up," Lea asked Severus, knowing that someone was listening.

"I need you to take this potion to Professor Lupin," he said handing her a gray bubbling potion that smelled like extremely strong and bitter tea that desperately needed sugar.

"Okay," Lea said happily, taking the potion and about to walk off to her destination.

"Make sure he drinks it all while its still warm," Severus told her as she walked out.

"Yes, sir," Lea said without looking back. Sure enough, when she walked out of the all but empty room, Lea saw a corner of a black cloak flutter into a deserted classroom.

She quickly spread her mind, not letting it get to Severus, to see who was following her and why.

As it turned out, it was just Draco, to see what she was doing. He was being an annoyingly nosy git, but wasn't doing any harm to her and let it be. He continued to follow her as she went to give Lupin his potion, repeating Severus' instructions.

"Thank you, Lea. Is there anything else," Lupin asked. Lea shook her head. "Then I suggest that you get to dinner." Lupin then gave a disgusting look at the potion and drank it all down at once.

Lea left as Lupin finished the last bit of the potion and went to dinner. She arrived with questioning looks from many people, mostly because she was late, everyone had gotten use to her bright purple hair by now.

Lupin didn't come to dinner and as Lea looked outside, she knew why. He was just being cautious, as its almost the full moon. Soon after, she went to bed.
