26. Juliet's Magic

Everyone stared at the little girl sitting on the floor.

"Lea is doggy? Sissy is doggy," Juliet cried, laughing. "You not doggy now," she said, pointing out the obvious.

"I can change into a dog," Lea said with a small smile. "Like this," she said as she drink down into the size of a beagle.

"SISSY DOGGY," Juliet cried with excitement. Lea walked up to her sister and started to lick her face, Juliet trying to push her off playfully. "STOP, SISSY DOGGY!"

Lea got off her laughing sister and Raven came in. Raven jumped on Lea and pushed her self down on her.

"Idiot. Old Ones, please grant me patience," Raven muttered. "Get off the kitten, she needs to sleep. There is also something you should see." Raven climbed off of Lea and flicked her tail towards the girls' room. "Come along, kit."

The beagle quickly changed into a young navy blue cat and ran to catch up with the calm cat, who had grown up a lot since last year.

Lea caught up with Raven as she entered the room. It was dark, with very little light shiny through the small crack that the cats slipped in through. Lea could see fine, and could see better than Raven.

What she saw was a flat crib with no legs or walls on the floor.

"Why didn't I hear this," Lea hissed.

"The magic, kit. She didn't want to be discovered, so the untamed magic hid her from you," Raven explained. "I saw her when she spoke and came in here to see what happened, as you should have."

"Then why did we here, or see, that she was out there in the first place," Lea asked.

"She was confused and needed conformation on what she was too young to understand," Raven said as she jumped on the bed to give Lea space to change back.

"This could become problematic," Lea said to herself.

"What could be-" Remus began, still in the living room. The others were staring at him, confused.

"I'll explained in a second," Lea said to him. She got up and walked out the door, Raven weaving in between her legs, never tripping the human.

"Juliet, it's time to go to sleep," Mrs. Talbot said scooping the girl up.

"Wait," Lea said. Turning to Severus she asked, "Could you go and fix the crib?"

Severus nodded and walked into the room. Lea could hear his sniff of surprise and the swish of his wand, nothing spoken. As he came out he nodded and Mrs. Talbot, with confused mask on her face, took Juliet to the crib and returned after Juliet fell asleep.

"When is my babysitter coming here," Lea asked, exasperated.

"He'll be here in about five minutes," Fudge said, oblivious to Lea's tone, or ignoring it.

"Is he staying here," Lea asked.

"Yes, I presume that you can host him," Fudge asked. That little git.

"If he tries anything-" Lea began with a growl.

"He won't," Remus assured her. "He's an old friend of mine."

"I highly doubt he would. Of course, if he does try anything, I suggest clawing his throat out," Severus said. He seemed angry about the arrangement, yet knew Lea could take car of herself for the most part.

"I want you to continue your summer practices while on break," Severus told her silently. "Also, three times a day, I want you to contact me to let me know what's going on."

Remus, who had been observing the two talking, and knew the gist of what they were saying, began to talk, this time to everyone.

"The full moon is next Tuesday. I suggest not turning, at all," Remus said, emphasizing the last bit for Lea. She got the hidden message, no changing into a wolf before, during or after the full moon, regular or werewolf.

"No problem, but if I need to, I'll run out of town for the night," Lea said.

"Good," Remus said.

"Wait," Fudge said as Remus and Severus both got up to go. There was a loud POP! as a man appeared out of nowhere. The man had dark skin, chocolate brown eyes, a purple robe on and a gold hoop in one ear.

"Ah, Shacklebolt, there you are," Fudge said with a small nod. "This is Lea Talbot, her mother and the youngest is asleep in bed." He motioned to each of them in turn. "And you know Severus Snape and Remus Lupin."

"Hello," the man said with a dark and deep voice.

"May we leave now," Remus asked.

"Most certainly not," cried Fudge. "What about the girl's potion?"

"She can't take it," Remus and Severus said at the same time, which seemed to worry both the professors.

"Can't or won't," Shacklebolt asked.

"Both," Remus said. "A werewolf can't take the Wolfsbane Potion until after their sixth full moon, something everyone at St. Mungo's knows."

"And won't because," prompted Fudge.

"Lea doesn't need it," Severus said turning around. "Good night." There was another POP! as he disapperated.

Fudge's face was red with rage, quite literally. "What's does he mean," he asked Lea, fighting to control his anger.

"If he didn't elaborate, then perhaps it's obvious, or you don't need to know," Lea's mom answered for her. "Now if you don't mind, get out of my house, it's rather late and we need to sleep." Mrs. Talbot proceeded to push the Minister out of the house.

Remus walked behind her and said told he that he was sorry about how things turned out and good night. Once Remus left, things got creepily quiet.

"The guest room is the first door on the left. Across the hall is the bathroom," Mrs. Talbot told Shacklebolt quickly and sharply. She then made her way to her room and fell asleep so after.

"There are some muggle clothes in the closet. You can use magic to make them fit," Lea said with a yawn. "If you try anything, your throat will he ripped out," she said with a creepy smile that made the tall man shiver.

"I understand," he said. He went into his room and closed the door.

Lea went around and turned off the lights, then went to her room to fall on her bed. After brushing her hair and teeth, pulling her pajamas on and laying in bed, Lea fell asleep, thinking over her new house member. Just before sleep over came her, Lea heard a voice.

"You won't need to hurt the new man. He will do nothing wrong," The Wolf told her. "But do not let your guard down, just in case. He may not do anything, but he may attract trouble."

Unfortunately, that was all to true. Shacklebolt didn't mean to cause trouble, and it normally didn't follow him around, but it seemed that He and Lea didn't mix well. They got along fine, but when they were near each other, trouble was attracted to them.
