17. Draco's New Punishment

Draco came in that night for his detention, he came out with a shortened detention and a new punishment.

"WHAT," he yelled when he was told his new assignment.

Lea was laying on the cot behind him, laughing silently. Lupin had taken off to get his next lesson and his first lesson ready, Dumbledore had to go and do some damage control (that consisted of telling the teachers what happened and making sure it didn't leak to the students), while Severus and Madame Pomfrey had stayed behind. Both had assignments for the Slytherin that had detention in the Hospital Wing.

When Draco first came in, it was his new routine, go to Madame Pomfrey, get his list of chores and imagine every task was a little bit of Lea that was being washed away.

He saw Lea in a cot again and ignore her and Severus, who was watching his every move. When he was finished he told Madame Pomfrey, his work was inspected and he fixed any mistakes. That night, there were none.

After Draco was dismissed, Madame Pomfrey left to get a pain potion for Lea.

"Draco, I need a word," Severus said calling Draco back.

"Yes, Professor?"

"It seems that Lea here, has somehow gotten injured. She will be let out of here on Saturday," Severus began. "Her injuries will not heal magically, but will heal faster than normally without magic. Lea will not be able to write or carry anything for two weeks."

"What happened," Draco asked curiously.

"We aren't sure, she doesn't remember," Severus lied. "Why I'm telling you is because, for the next two weeks, you will act as her arms."

This lead to the yelling.

"WHAT," Draco yelled.

"Relax, I highly doubt you'll have to do anything that bad. Besides, it's not as if you'll have to spoon feed her," Severus sighed. "And instead of a month long detention, you'll only have two weeks worth of carrying and writing for Lea. You can use magic."

Draco's face was a deep pink. He thought it over, it was better than scrubbing bedpans, if only just.

But, being a slave to a mudblood, there were pros and cons. Although, it's not like he had any choice in the matter.

Draco nodded and walked out of the room to his bed.

Lea's week went passed slowly, fully and without incident.

Lea was released Saturday with bandages all over her arm and leg. She had to limp to her bed.

Draco came in about five minutes later. (He had a plastic card on a red chain so the steps wouldn't turn into a slide when he tried to get up.) he gave her a scroll, on it was her homework and what they had done in class.

Lea took the scroll and opened it with shaking hands. She jerked it once so hard, it nearly tore in two. She set it on her bed and opened it with her wand, muttering the spell and waving it with her left hand.

"Okay, write exactly what I say," Lea said as she started her essay for Herbology. "You might as well use some of this for your essay as well."

For the nest three hours, both worked on homework. Lea wondered how Draco would be able to take notes in classes during the classes they didn't have with each other. Not that it mattered much, Lea would just remember it all. And that's what she did.

She and Draco soon had to spend ever second together. They did their homework and Draco carried everything she needed. Rumors started to go around that they were dating, Draco responded to that by yelling at them about how this was a punishment. Lea simply ignored the idiots and silently cast curses on them, usually bad luck.

Harry and the gang were wondering what was up with Draco and Lea spending so much time together and asked her just that.

"Why are you and Malfoy hanging out," Harry asked.

Draco was off on the other side of the table eating and she was about to go to the Library, not bothering to get Draco. They both had the same class after lunch anyway.

"I can't do much, so Sev- Professor Snape told Draco that he had to help me," Lea explained.

"What happened," Ron asked eyeing the bandages.

"I don't remember," Lea replied with a shrug.

"May I join you in the Library? I assume that's where your going, you been going everyday since the beginning of school," Hermione said. She had a glint in her eyes.

"Sure, I don't care," Lea said turning and slightly limping up the steps.

"Did you hear about the essay Professor Snape assigned the DADA class," Hermione asked the younger girl.

"Yeah, Draco wrote it down yesterday for me," Lea said.

"So... did Lupin do that," Hermione asked in a casual tone, as if remarking about the weather.

Lea dropped a book that she was getting down, her eyes were wide and mouth open.

"I'll take that as a yes," she told Lea after seeing her face.

"How did you know," Lea whispered. She then went over to sit on a cushioned chair. She absently rubbed her right arm, tracing the scabs.

"The essay," she replied. "How did you?"

"I was bitten," Lea said. She had thought that had been obvious.

"So, do the teachers know who bit you," she asked.

"Yeah. I'll be getting lesson on being one as soon as the cuts heal," Lea confessed.

"Well, don't forget your potion," Hermione said leaving the topic.
