The Slytherin Scandal: Year Two

Sirius Black, a world renounced murderer, is an animagus. He is on the loose and for some reason is going to Hogwarts. But after Lea meets Sirius, she's not sure if all those things are true.

Things begin to get odd when Lea finds out that the new DADA professor is an old friend of Sirius'. On the first day back, she also learns her teacher's worst and most hated secret. What happens when those two meet and an old friend comes back from the dead?

27. Complications

The trouble started the next morning. Lea, following her instructions, wrote a letter to her mom, telling her what she was doing, going and when she would be back. She added a P. S. for her mom to let Shacklebolt know what was going on.

Snow was all over the ground, fresh and hadn't yet been stepped in. She made footprints from the door to the street, almost knew deep. The snow melted the instant her warm clothing touched it, soaking through instantly. A moment later, he knees were frozen and numb.

Lea quickly thought of a creature that would have a thick pelt. Deciding on one, Lea ran to the forest, just down the street. As soon as the road was lost in the trees, she became an elk and ran to the clearing. Deciding that it was too cold to sit there in human form, Lea stood elk form, which was the same as any other elk, only with green eyes rimed with a deep blue.

Lea then reached her mind out to find anyone awake. There were a few little kids, excited for Christmas and up early again to see if it was that time yet. Lea, despite her current animal form, slipped into one of their minds as easily as ever.

Her favorite minds to be in were little kids'. They were innocent and happy most of the time. They weren't filled with stuff like worrying about tests, cheating boyfriends or how cute/hot/sexy someone was and other, more graphic thoughts.

Lea slipped from one child's mind to another's. She was pulling out of the last one when she heard a THUMP! Lea was quickly brought back to her body, muscles tense. She waited a moment for the sound to come again.

The sound kept coming, steadily and closer. The wind shifted and she caught the sent of a human. One that she had only just met, Shacklebolt. Lea forced her self to relax and returned to human form.

"I know your there, Mr. Shacklebolt," Lea called out. The footsteps stopped.

"What's Insane Idiot doing here," a teenage boy's voice whispered. Insane Idiot was a nickname, rather new, for Lea.

"Who knows? But who's that Shacklebolt guy she was calling out," a female voice came.

"I don't know, let's take a look," a second boy, older but only by a little, said.

"You should not be out here," Shacklebolt told Lea as he walked Ito the clearing.

"So I've noticed," Lea said under her breath.

"Move now. It is not safe to talk of magic here," The Wolf said. Lea knew this, Shacklebolt did not.

"I'm just following the orders of my professor," Lea told Schacklebolt.

"Duck," The Wolf yelled at her. Lea dropped down as an ice ball hurtled past wear her head had been a moment before. It hit the tree next to Lea with a THUNK! If it had hit her head, Lea would have had another scar to remember this year by. She also would have had a rather nasty headache.

"Go away," Lea yelled to where the ball had originated.

"CRAZY COOCK," the older boy yelled with a laugh.

"Immature idiotic dumkopft*," Lea yelled back.

*German. Literally means dumb head.

"WE'LL KILL YOUR CAT," the first boy screamed.

"Böldzëge*," Lea called back. She was starting to get annoyed now.

*German. Literally means stupid goat. In Germany it's more insulting than the translation.

"Stop that," Shacklebolt told both Lea and the hidden kids. Well, hidden to Shacklebolt, they were about a hundred paces to the side of her, hidden behind a group of bushes.

"I guess it's time for me to go," Lea told the kids.

"We aren't finished," the female said as Lea walked away.

"Yes, we are," Lea said, walking calmly back to the snow covered street.

"You should not have left," Shacklebolt said, starting a lecture.

"I left a note and was doing homework," Lea shot back.

"That was not what it looked like."

"Well, it was. Ask Severus if you don't believe me," Lea said coldly.

The teens had followed the pair's footprints back to the house about an hour later, just after Shacklebolt had gotten conformation that Lea was doing homework when she was in the clearing.

Lea, meanwhile, was in her bed, taking a short nap. She woke up every hour and was surprised when she caught the sent of the teens from the clearing. She quickly slipped into the female's mind and poked around.

They weren't going to do anything, but start rumors about Shacklebolt and him staying with Lea's family, so she let it be. It bothered her only a little because her favorite saying growing up had been 'Sticks and stone may break my bones, but words will never hurt me.' Now, if they started some rumor about Juliet or her mother, then she would torture, kill and hide them. Thankfully, she didn't see that in her immediate future. Unfortunately, rumors were going to be the least of her worries. Next came the new neighbors.
