Caged (HG Spin-off... I guess)

After a major war, The U.S. gets divided into the Gemstone Regions. Within the regions, there are different countries. Each country must compete in the game-show, Caged, where contestants fight to death. Did I mention that they'll be sharing the arena with mutant animals, such as the Solleonom, a mutant, jungle cat. Luckily for the contestants, there is an exit. If you're the last two standing, or the one who finds the exit, you get the amazing prize of life. But, is it worth living, knowing someone you love is dead?

"Oh my gosh," A stranger raved, "Could you believe the show Sapphiria put on? I haven't seen that before."

"I used to live there," the other said. The first girl gasped, "And I was close friends with the girl in the bird dress's mother."

That was a lie. An obvious, pathetic lie. If she'd been from Sapph, she'd still have the accent.

"Genevieve, how do you feel about your recent performance?" A low voice and bright flash asked. Another shouted; "Why'd you get a zero?" The voices and flashes kept going, and then; I was alone.

"Cody? Byrd?" I asked, hoping one would come to my aid. Neither came. "Blayze? Journee?" Still no one. Cameras snapped more and more pictures, people asked more questions, and I got lost. Lucky me.

The roaring sound of an engine blasted through my ears. They were leaving. Without me.

Will they notice I'm gone? Will they keep going? I'm I going to be stuck here? Will Kitolimo murder me?!

I'm going to be stuck dealing with the paparazzi.

"Wait!" I called. I look to a window, with three figures in it, near the top of the building. They were waving feverishly, and the building started to move. "No" I yelled as I elbowed nearly everyone in my way. I'm getting back inside that building.

By now, the other tributes were at there windows, laughing at my attempts. I sincerely hope I have the chance to murder them all when the time comes. When that time comes...

So, where was I? Oh, right!

"Gwen, we'll be stopping the building soon. Meet us outside of The Central Building. See you then!" The same perky voice I was running down a hallway with earlier said. And, once again, she messed up my name. Except this time it was in front of everyone. I sure do love public humiliation. Not.

I noticed a shadow in front of me and turned around. "Genevieve Hudson?" A tall guy with completely, unnecessarily, dark sunglasses asked. I nodded. " Please come with me." He said as we walked into the building Kitolimo disappeared into.

It was oddly white in the building, the walls, the tiles, even the elevator doors were white. The tall man pushed a button, and the white doors slid open. "We'll be there in five minutes tops." He claimed, as he lifted a panel, revealing another button. He pushed that one as well, and we went up. The doors opened and left us on the roof as we stepped out. Smack in front of us sat a helicopter, with its 'wings'  already in motion. We climbed in, and set off.

God, this is embarrassing. He was right, as we arrived there sooner than I was expecting. Maybe the helicopter was just really fast. And there it was, the mobile building. Oh my god. I have to walk through the doors.

Surely enough, we landed on the roof, knocking over almost all of the chairs over. I jumped out, and waved goodbye, thanking them for their generosity. When I turned around, the door to the stairs was the only thing I didn't want.

You can do this, I said to myself. I rested my hand on the doorknob, and took a deep breath. Just forget about them. I closed my eyes, using the railing to get down the stairs. Don't make eye contact. I got to the bottom of the stairs, and into the common room of the twelveth floor. I felt people around me, and I heard giggling. I just need to see who's here...

I opened my eyes very slowly, only to be disappointed by each of the 31 contestants waiting for me. Keila and  Roman decided to get each of the people from their countries, except for Locke, to point and laugh, probably as loud as humanly possible. The kids from Rubylin sat there, shaking their heads, arms folded, and the people from Sapphiria were nowhere to be seen.

"Alright, alright!" A loud voice boomed, silencing the entire crowd. Everyone turned heads to see that Cody, Blayze, and Byrd had come to witness... well, you know. "You guys can leave now, go to bed. We start tomorrow, anyway." Everyone, seemed to back out of the door, and into the main hallways.

"Thanks guys." I said, sighing of relief.

"You ruined our reputation, so you everyone at least one." Byrd said, stalking off to her room.

"Yeah. Thanks for making us all look bad. And for what, you to get caught up in the press. I don't think so." Blayze finished, following in Byrd's shadow.

Cody shot me a sympathetic sort of look and went to our room. I heard the clicks of locking rooms, and they turned off the lights in the entire floor. I suppose I'll just sleep on the couch then, I thought as I stumbled my way over to the couch and lay down. It'll be a rough night, and a tough day tomorrow. Fabulous.

A/N- Heya guys! I know it's been a really REALLY long time without an update, and I am so sorry. If you've recently started reading Caged, you  would'nt happen to know that I managed to vanish for approximately 6 months. Once again, I'm sorry. I got really caught up in my life outside of movellas, and I'm sure you guys have been busy. So- uh, here's you're really belated update.

P.S. Remember Seraphim? I might've spent some time on Word revamping the story, so it might be coming back this summer!
