Caged (HG Spin-off... I guess)

After a major war, The U.S. gets divided into the Gemstone Regions. Within the regions, there are different countries. Each country must compete in the game-show, Caged, where contestants fight to death. Did I mention that they'll be sharing the arena with mutant animals, such as the Solleonom, a mutant, jungle cat. Luckily for the contestants, there is an exit. If you're the last two standing, or the one who finds the exit, you get the amazing prize of life. But, is it worth living, knowing someone you love is dead?

6. Fittings

 Three Days Before The Parade

I looked back at my letter re-reading the same sentence again, and again: Your stylist is Bernadette, she'll be in Room 209, sixth floor. Personally, I don't want to be interviewed, or go through the parade. Its so much, and today, I have to get fitted for my dresses. I just wanna go home.

Byrd, Rykira, and I walked down the sixth floor together, as our fitting were at the same time. As I walked up to the door, I found it was open. Knocking lightly, I slowly opened the door. The room was dark, dimly lit by a sky light. "I'm tired." A voice said.

"That makes two of us." I agreed. The voice laughed.

"That's not what I'm tired of," It explained, "I tired of everyone being so, so plain. I want to make you look different. Only you." The voice said, before stepping into the light. It was pretty. It had dark brown hair, and what looked like bright pink eyes? It was also fairly short, and probably named Bernadette.

"Why thanks," I said, taking a step back. She definitely had presence. "But, why me? I'm just as normal as the other girls." I explained, pointing the pictures of the other girls from this year. She had photos of them? Their photos were all crossed out, all but mine. Awkward.

"You have a courage, a bravery, a being about you. It's stunning, and I'm going to use it to the best of your ability. Is there anything that inspires you?" She complimented. I could feel my cheeks glowing red.

"Well, my little sister Annaleigh inspires me. She's always been very open, and caring, and humane. " I admitted. "She was always so confident. A lot like a peacock." I continued.

"That's all I'll need." Bernadette said, jotting down some notes. "We'll do dress selection tomorrow, and then you'll have a day of relaxation before the mayhem begins." She explained. "So, I'll see you tomorrow at 3 p.m." She said, shooing my out the door.

"Bye!" I called, before she closed the door. So much for that. I spent the rest of the night reading a book my dad got me for my ninth birthday: The Hunger Games, by Suzanne Collins.

A/N- Sorry the chapter was short, I didn't really have it prepared, like I have the chapter for Seraphim prepared. I promise the next chapter will be longer, and more detailed. Bye! ~Dani
