4. Chapter 4

“Can you please just tell me where we are going?” I asked for what seemed like the hundredth time.

“Babe, we’re almost there. Calm down,” Ashton smiled. We had only been driving for three minutes but it felt like an hour. I hate surprises and I just wanted to know where.

“Are the other boys going to meet us there?” I was still confused why we didn’t all go together. I was even more confused about why I haven’t seen their car since we left.

Ashton ignored my question and concentrated on the road in front of him.

“Can I have one hint to where we’re going? Please.” I pouted my bottom lip. He shook his head laughing and I made an annoyed sigh in response. “You’re really annoying, Irwin.”

“I know.”

I rolled my eyes, “Why did I agree to come out with you?”

“Because you like me.” He reached over and placed his hand over mine.

He finally stopped the car five minutes later in front of a patch of trees and plants. It had been miles since we passed a car and now I knew why. We were in the middle of nowhere.

“Ashton?”

He stayed quiet and instead moved his hand telling me to walk over to him. I obeyed his request and as soon as I was close to him he grabbed my hand. I opened my mouth to say something, but before I could he motioned with his other hand for me to be quiet. He started leading me into the small forest. If I wasn’t with Ashton I would probably be worried about walking into a forest with no people for miles, but with Ashton I felt save. I was pretty positive now that the other boys were not going to be meeting us.

Luke’s POV

I watched the building outside the window pass by as the car took up speed. “Can someone please explain to me why Grace and Ashton had to take a separate car from us?” I had asked this question several times but got no response from Cal or Michael.

“We’re almost there right, Michael?”

“Yes, Calum, we are almost there.”

They were doing this to annoy me on purpose. “Can one of you answer my question?” I could feel my temper rising each time they ignored me.

“I don’t think you want to hear the answer,” Cal said from the passenger seat.

“Just tell me.” How bad could it be? We were going to see them both in five minutes anyway.

“There not meeting us. Ashton is taking Grace somewhere else.” Michael said the last part quieter.

“And why did no one tell me this before?” I knew I was practically yelling, but I didn’t care.

“Luke we both know how you feel about Grace and we both knew you would react like this when you found out.” Cal told me.

“What do you mean how I feel about Grace?” I’ve never told anyone I like Grace and I wasn’t planning to.

“You like her. It’s pretty obvious,” Michael informed me.

“No I don’t.” There was really no use in denying it anymore. “Ok so maybe I do, but it doesn’t matter. She is with Ashton. She is happy.”

“That is why we are going to help you get over her.”

“We’re taking you to a club,” Michael finished.

“I’m seventeen.”

“As are we. This is a club for teens. Trust me it will be fun.” Calum turned to look at me.

I rolled my eyes, “Whatever.”

We got to the club about two minutes later and there was a good size line outside. We reached the end and took our spot behind a group of girls. They looked around our age and I could tell just by looking at them they came here to have a good time. Their hair and makeup screamed that they were ready to party.  I noticed they were giggling and whispering to each other and then looking towards us. One of them got brave and approached us.

“We’ve never seen you guys here before.” She twirled her blonde hair between her fingers and stood there waiting for a response even though she didn’t ask a question.

“Our friend here needed to get out and do something fun,” Michael said patting me on the back.

I growled, “No I don’t.”

“We can help him have fun.” The girl motioned to her friends and they all nodded.

“I’m sure you can help,” Cal said.

Mike and Cal talked to the girls until we finally reached the front of the line. It was probably only about ten minutes, but it felt so much longer. They had tried to get me to join them but I just ignored them and went on twitter.

“Go in,” the security guard in the front told us. Why did they need a security guard this was a teen club.

I felt someone tap on my shoulder as I walked in. I turned to face the blonde girl who had approached us in line. “So what’s your name?”

“Luke Hemmings.”

“I’m Cassidy,” she smiled. She had a pretty smile. Nothing compared to Grace’s but still pretty. I thought she was going to leave when she started to talk again, “Do you want to dance?”

I weighed my options. I like Grace, but she was with Ashton. She was with him alone right now and who knew what she was doing with him at the moment. I probably did need to get over her. And even if I didn’t get over her today what is the harm in dancing with this girl.

Her green eyes looks at me waiting for a response.

“Ok.”

“Yay!” She yelled grabbing my hand and pulling me onto the dance floor. The lights were going crazy with different colors and the music was blasting. When we reached a spot on the floor that she liked she forcefully grabbed my hands and placed them on her waist. I didn’t know what she was doing until her back lay against my chest and she placed her hands around my neck. Suddenly she was grinding against me. Fuck. She’s good at this. I groaned and Cassidy giggled.

“I think I am going to like you Luke Hemmings.”
