Hi, I'm Your Daughter

"Fourteen years ago, you and someone else had a baby. I am that baby." Rose has always been a foster kid. Because of heart issues when she was born, she was never adopted. That is, until she finds her birth parents. She just never expected them to be Louis Tomlinson and Eleanor Calder.

10. Rashes? No thank you

A/N: Hey guys! It has been 5 or 6 months since I last updated and it's already Christmas! I'm so sorry for such the long wait. Things have been going on in my life. My grandfather died, senior year is WAY more difficult then I ever imagined, I had struggled with depression for a while (but that's nothing new), it was just worse than usual which caused extreme writer's block and just plain laziness. Hopefully the wait won't be that long again.

I just want to thank you all for reading this. It means the world to me that this story has become so popular. A little over 5000 people read this? That's amazing! And it wouldn't have happened without you guys! I love you all so much for continuing to tell me to keep writing this. Some of you emailed me. Some of you sent me asks on Tumblr. And I'm so happy you all did that. Thank you!

Now, the moment you've all been waiting for (or you know not really) who gets to be Alex's mother. Well, I can't decide between two so I'll let you guys decide. Vote in the comments below which one: Julie Christensen or Hailey Middleton!!

CHAPTER 10

I slathered the benedryl cream all over my arms and face, to the point that I was a walking stalk white stiff person. I waddled my way up the stairs when the door bell rang.

"ALEX! DOOR!" I yelled up the stairs.

"YOU'RE CLOSER!" he yelled back.

"Mahhhajdfhadf!" I yelled gibberish back to him as I waddled quickly to the door. Opening it, I expected it be Harry or Louis or Eleanor or Charlie or literally anyone than the person who was standing outside the door right now.

"I--ahh!" I started to say something coherent but instead, my eyes widened and then I slammed the door in Eli's face. Alex was walking down the stairs as he saw me freaking out by myself.

"What...are you doing?" he asked slowly.

"It's Eli!"

"So?"

"SO! He just saw me like...like this!" I exclaimed, gesturing to myself.

"He always sees this," he said, gesturing to all of me. I narrowed my eyes at him. Alex's eyes widened as he stared past me and then he started to laugh uncontrollably.

"What?" I asked.

"Rose...Rose did you just leave him out there?" he asked laughing.

"Yes!!" I exclaimed, "You can see my problem here!! I'll run upstairs! You...you open the door and convince him to leave or something!" with that, I ran up the stairs and quickly into my room. I heard Alex sigh, and then the door open.

"Alex," Eli said.

"Eli." Why do they always address each other like spy rivals? Like stop. It's weird.

"What happened to Rose?" asked Eli, as he stepped in further.

"She got poison ivy rashes, from your girlfriend," said Alex, his voice hardening.

"I already knew about that," Eli snapped, "I meant, she was here at this door and now she's gone."

"Oh. She didn't want you to see her." They were silent for a long while. I strained my ears so I could hear the hushed voices.

"...What are you planning on doing to her?" asked Alex.

"What do you mean?"

"You know exactly what I mean. We all know what you do to girls."

"...That wasn't my fault..."

"Oh so Jessica wasn't your fault? Next thing you're going to say is that you don't take any responsibility for what happened to Cynthia either," Alex's voice had gone stone cold. I shivered.

"It wasn't my fault." Alex laughed without emotion.

"Right," he said sarcastically, "Jessica's dead, Eli."

"Cynthia isn't."

"So now she's your success story?" I could hear Alex get angrier and angrier. Eli was silent.

"Get out of my house, Eli. Get out of my f*cking house." There was the slam of the door, the loud stomping of Alex going to his room, another slam of a door, and then silence. I slowly sat down inside of my room with wide eyes.

What did Eli do? Someone died?

...Was he planning on doing something to me?

Eleanor walked into the house, Louis hot on her trail.

"You were busy! All I did was ask the nurse to ask Alex if he could drive her home. Since when was that a crime??" Eleanor exclaimed.

"I could've gotten out of it, Eleanor! If you just called me, I could've been there for her!"

"You know as well as I do that you wouldn't been able to "get out of it"."

"Well...well...I... I could have had my driver take her home instead of Alex!"

"Yeah, let's have a stranger take care of our daughter instead of your best friend's son. Great idea, Tomlinson. Great idea," Eleanor said sarcastically as she dropped her stuff by the door and headed into the kitchen.

"They could've done something," Louis whispered worriedly. Eleanor turned around very slowly and looked at Louis incredulously.

"Louis. She has poison ivy. Rashes, all over her body." Louis stayed silent. Eleanor sighed.

"Why don't you trust her anyway? She's fourteen. Nothing's going to happen!"

"It's not that I don't trust her, El," Louis said slowly, "I just don't trust him."  Eleanor stared at him for the longest time.

"He's related to Harry you know," Louis said, justifying his reasoning.

"Just because he's related to--"

"You guys talking about me?" asked Alex, leaning against the kitchen door frame. Eleanor smiled sweetly.

"Louis is just still trying to adjust to the fact that he has a teenage daughter and not a five year old," said Eleanor, glaring at Louis.

"I could have had a five year old, if you didn't keep her away from me," spat Louis. Eleanor's eyes widened and she took a step back. Then she looked down at the ground, before hardening her face. When she looked back up, she was stone cold.

"El...I'm sorry. I didn't mean--"

"Don't talk to me." She left to head towards Rose's room.

"She's asleep by the way. I gave her some benedryl cream. That should help with the rashes," said Alex. Eleanor smiled at him.

"Thank you, Alex, for taking care of her." She didn't even look at Louis before heading up the stairs. Louis groaned as he put his head in his hands and sat at the counter.

"You want something to drink?" asked Alex. Louis nodded his head slowly.

"Yeah, I figured," said Alex, taking out a beer and setting it next to Louis' head.

When I woke up, it was really dark. How long did I sleep?

I sat up in my bed and looked over at the dark shadow in my armchair by the window. My eyes widened as I realized someone was sitting there. Grabbing my lamp, I stood up and slowly walked over to the chair. As I got closer, I heard the person wake up. Holding the lamp over my head, I closed my eyes and started to hit the person that was sitting in the armchair when I felt resistance. I opened my eyes.

"What the heck Rose?!" Alex hissed, as he held the lamp that was about to hit him on the head. I jumped and squeaked when I heard his voice.

"Shut up!"

"What are you doing in my room??!" I whisper-yelled.

"What are you doing with your lamp?!" he whisper-yelled back. I looked over at my hand that held my lamp.

"I thought you were an intruder! And you never answered my question."

"I was just keeping an eye on you."

"Why?"

"I just was. Okay? Why do I need an explanation?" I narrowed my eyes at him.

"Do my parents know that you're 'keeping an eye on me'?" I asked, using air quotes.

"No," hissed Alex, "and don't tell them because Louis thinks I'm trying to take advantage of you or something." I felt myself hold my breath as my face turned red at the thought. Thank God it was dark.

"I'm fourteen!"

"I know," Alex said, looking over at me, as if he was bored. I sat down on the floor and put my lamp down. He stared at me confused.

"Alex?"

"Yeah?"

"Who's Cynthia?" I asked looking up at him. His expression was unreadable but he seemed to soften a bit.

"She's my best friend."

"Do you love her?" I asked, yawning a bit. His eyes widened a bit at that.

"What?"

"Cynthia. Do you love her?" He was quiet for a while.

"I think I used to..." he said almost silently, his low voice rumbling deep in his chest.

"Did she love you?"

"At one point, I suppose."

"But you guys don't love each other anymore?" He closed his eyes as he shrugged.

"I guess a piece of me will always love her. She's my best friend." We were silent for a while after that.

"Why all the questions?" he asked, but I didn't answer for I was already falling fast asleep.

A/N: So what did Eli do to those girls? Is this why Alex hates him? Is it because of Cynthia? Is Alex still in love with Cynthia? Is Cynthia still in love with him? What about Rose?

So many questions, haha. Leave a comment below and tell me what you think!
