4. You know my name, not my story

Emily

Walking down the hallway on my way to my locker, I couldn’t stop thinking about how I just wanted this last class to end, so I could get to lunch.

When I reached my locker, Nathan was leaning up against it, on food on the locker below, looking really hardcore. His arms were crossed over his chest, and his dark eyes were looking on the crowd that was passing him by.

“Hey Nathan, shouldn’t you be on your way to class?” I asked without looking at him. I did my combination and threw my books in my locker.

“Meet us in ten minutes.” Nathan said before handing me a piece of paper before he pulled up his hoodie, and quickly walked out the front entrance. I glanced down at the paper and saw what Nathan had written on it. I smirked to myself.

Instead of grabbing my books, I took off the blue shirt, and threw an army green hoodie over my head instead. Pulling the hoodie over my head, I grabbed the bag Nathan had given me earlier, and slammed my locker shut.

Making sure no one saw me, I quickly walked out the front entrance and down the same road, I knew Nathan had taken.

I laughed as I jumped on Nathan’s back and covered his eyes as he walked. Cooper was walking next to us and laughed at Nathan. We were on our way back to the school, just in time for lunch.

“Hahaha, you should have seen your face when you realized what I was up too, Nathan! It’s so easy to trick you too! You wouldn’t even believe how easy it is!” I laughed and jumped down from his back. We arrived at school and went inside, only to see that the hallways were already filled with students.

People were still looking at me, but Cooper told me to ignore them. They didn’t matter. I spotted Ashley a few feet ahead, by her locker.  I told my brothers that I would meet them in the cafeteria and walked over to Ashley.

“Hey Ash!” I said happily. The sudden sound made her creep together in fear that it might be someone else. She slowly turned her head and looked at me. When she saw it was me, she sighed in relief.

“Thank god! I’m so happy it’s you. I’ve been scared that Justin might do something ever since you beat him up this morning. “ She said and took a look over her shoulder.

“Have he said anything to you all day?” I asked, my mood becoming angry. She shook her head.

“He haven’t done anything but sending me dirty looks. Well, actually.” She said hesitatingly, as if she didn’t want me to know. Her blue eyes were filled with nervousness. She was biting her lip and looked anywhere but at me.

“Ashley, you can tell me.” I said and pulled her in for a hug.

“Well, he came up to me, right before math class, and said that he had seen you leave the school, and asked me where you were going. I told him that I hadn’t seen you since this morning where you helped me, and he told me, to tell you that he will get his revenge for what you did to him and his friends, at some point. And that he wanted to talk to you ASAP.” She said her voice getting lower and lower the more she spoke. I smiled at her, and pulled her with me to the cafeteria.

“Look, he won’t hurt me, trust me. And he will never lay a finger on you or anyone again, okay? You heard my brother, if there is anything he can do for you, all you have to do is ask them for help if I am not around.” I told her as we entered the cafeteria. I spotted Justin sitting at the table in the middle of everything, with a girl on his lap as he stroked her thigh.

“Them?” She asked, snapping me out of my thoughts. Giving her my full attention again, I nodded towards a table where Nathan and Cooper were sitting with a smirk on my face. A lot of girls were looking at them, so I thought why not have some fun?

I linked my arm with Ashley’s, walked over to Nathan, and gave him a kiss on the cheek. I introduced Ashley to Cooper and then kissed his cheek too. I could almost feel the holes people were burning in the back of my skull.

“So Ashley” Cooper started. I’m sorry to ruin your chances bro, but she’s a friend.

“Cooper, knock it off, she’s a friend of Emily.” Nathan said before I could crash his dreams myself. You’re such an idiot sometimes Nathan!

“Um, how did you get to know my sister?” He changed his question. I zoned out when they started a conversation. My mind wandered off to L.A and I knew that I had to return to Los Angeles soon. Just for a weekend.

I looked at everybody that was staring at me, but it didn’t matter, until I noticed that Justin was staring at me. His brown eyes were locked on me, even though the slut in his lap tried to get his attention. Ashley said that he wanted to talk to me, so I thought that it could just as well be now.

I stood up, and was about to walk over to him when Nathan grabbed my wrist. His brown eyes were telling me not to do what I was thinking about doing.

“He wants to talk to me, I’ll take him outside and if we’re not back in ten minutes after I’ve texted you, you and Cooper and come running out and see if I’ve killed him yet. Okay?” I said, not waiting for his respond before I walked towards Justin.

His crew looked up from the table when I stood beside Justin’s chair. The girl in his lap was faker than Barbie and when she talked, she just made me want to slap her. Her fake blonde, almost white hair, was straighten and her fake boobs were almost hanging out of the white tank top she was wearing.

“What do you want slut?” She asked. I was on the verge of grabbing her neck and tell her never to call me that again, but I remained calm.

“Justin, I’ve heard that you wanted to talk to me, so let’s talk. Outside.” I said, no emotions in my voice at all. Justin gently pulled the girl of his lap and followed me out without a word. The cafeteria was completely silent until we were out of sight.

Justin followed me outside and over to a place where we were out of sight from any curious eyes. I pulled out my phone and texted Nathan that the ten minutes started from now on. Then I looked at Justin, waiting for him to start the conversation. When he didn’t say anything, I did.

“You do know that you are a complete dickhead right?! She didn’t deserve to be yelled at you idiot! You walked into her! You know what, I should kick your ass again just for being dick!” I yelled at him. First he looked taking a back, but then he just smirked.

“Well that little slut deserves to be punished once in a while. I’ve heard rumors about her liking it rough.” He laughed. My blood was boiling, but I didn’t need Nathan to tell Keith that I had beaten the same jerk twice.

“You little... I should cut off your dick and make you eat it! She doesn’t deserve any of the bullshit you give her! If someone deserves it, it is that little slut who was sitting at your lap! She’s probably bulling people too! Am I right?!” I yelled. When he didn’t answer, I pushed him into the brick wall.

“Am I right?!” I hissed in his face.

“Yes.” He said as calm as a boy could be. I slammed my hands onto the wall next to his face and turned around. That was my first mistake. His first mistake was to think that he could surprise me. I turned around, just in time to see his fist flying through the air. I stepped aside, and kicked him in the ribs. When he was lying on the ground, I got close to his ear and said;

“You can’t beat me, Justin. “ I didn’t get to say more, before Nathan had pulled me off the ground and got my hands behind my head so I couldn’t use them.

“I thought you said you wouldn’t beat him up Em! For god sake, we need to order your medication. Cooper call Keith and tell him to get her pills as soon as possible. Don’t tell him that he beat this kid up, just say that she have been grumpy all day, or something.” Cooper pulled out his phone and disappeared to a tree a few feet away.

Justin was on his feet and looked at my position with great pleasure. His smile grew bigger when Ashley came out and stood beside Nathan who was holding me. Her eyes were filled with confusion.

“Nathan, I’m okay. He attacked me first this time I was only defending myself. I promise to..” I paused when I remembered that there were other people around. They can’t know. However Nathan knew what I was talking about, and let me go. Cooper had returned and was now standing protectively in front of Ashley.

Never in my life had I thought I should see Cooper like that again. Not since he left his first love back in L.A with no other words than I’m sorry.

“You guys came faster than expected.” I sighed.

“We honestly didn’t trust you. Not after what happened in L.A.” Cooper answered. Well okay, I understand. I was a bad ass back then.

“Yeah, we couldn’t have this kid ending up at the hospital too, could we Emily.” Nathan laughed when he saw Justin’s face when he said it.

“Hospital?” Justin asked in disbelief.

“Never heard the term: You know my name, not my story? Well in this situation, my story would give a coward like you nightmares. People who cross my path end up getting hurt, so I would stay away from me and avoid getting hurt.” I snapped at him. I sighed.

“I think you’re right anyway Nathan, I could really need my pills.” I linked my arm with Ashley’s and with a smile on my face, I left Justin behind, and went in to have the last class of the day, luckily I had it Ashley, so hopefully, I won’t have any troubles.

When we got inside people were looking at me more than ever. The girl who had been sitting on Justin’s lap, were sending daggers after me, but when she saw Ashley, she smirked. She walked towards us with an evil smile on her face.

“Well look who’s here girls. It’s little Ashley. I can see that you’re hanging out with the new girl, huh? It must be amazing for you to finally have some friends. Let’s hope she doesn’t leave like the last one did.” She said mocking. I was just about to answer when Ashley finally stood up for herself.

“You know what, Caroline? Why don’t you just shut that big fake ass mouth of yours and leave alone for a change, huh? I’m not the one who is sucking so much dick that it makes my mouth look like a trouty mouth.” She snapped. Nathan and Cooper stood a few feet away and were almost smiling with proud but then they joined us.

“Is there a problem here Ash?” Nathan asked. Caroline had been one of the girls who had been checking my brothers out.

“No, I think we’re good, but thanks for asking Nathan.” She said and smirked at Caroline who’s mouth was wide open. I wouldn’t let her get all the fun, so I joined in.

“Yeah, thanks for asking big brother. I’ll see you both at home later.” I kissed both of them on the cheek and pulled Ashley with me, leaving her completely speechless.

“Hey, what are you doing after school?” I asked Ashley as we gathered our stuff and walked out of the classroom. She shrugged her shoulders.

“Nothing. Why?” She asked a small smile on her face.

“Want to come home with me and hang out?” I asked. She nodded with a big smile on her face.

“Great.” I said happily and gave her a side hug. I honestly didn’t believe that I would find a friend the first day of school. I guess school wasn’t as bad as I thought.
