Summer Love

Three best friends, Lauren, Maria and Grace, had been planning the trip to celebrate the end of their 'A' levels since they were twelve. Now, their exams are over and they're getting ready to tour the UK and Northern Ireland. As is just their luck, disaster strikes on day two. What happens when the girls get too involved with One Direction to leave again without heartbreak?

12. Meeting Uncle Simon

The door came bursting open as I took a sip of my coffee. They never bothered to knock. Zayn and Louis bounced in first, screaming my name and running to give me a hug, forgetting that they were meant to be in trouble. Niall walked in next, with a girl in tow. That confused me, it was like Harry to do something like that, but not Niall. She was pretty, wearing a denim shirt and a cream skirt that seemed an odd combination but somehow looked good on her. She had a white blonde hair pinned back at the sides and blue eyes, looking down at the floor in a shy way. Her and Niall suited each other, their personalities were very similar, they both had a very sunny disposition about them, making them impossible to dislike, and even harder to be angry with. Liam came next, also with a girl. She had a confidence about her that the first didn't, and strode into the room, her eyes searching the contents of it. She seemed unaware of the fact that Liam was gazing at her, the way I'd only seen him do with Danielle. I just hoped this girl didn't hurt him the way she had done. She had dark blonde hair worn up, and was wearing jeans and a pink top with a patterned jacket and heels. Harry came last, his arm wrapped protectively around a blonde girl with long hair and rosy cheeks. She was the only one of the three wearing her hair down, and it tumbled about her shoulders in waves, her dress and jacket brought out the blue in her eyes, and she smiled and came to greet me

"Hello Mr Cowell, I'm Grace. It's a pleasure to meet you" she said politely, holding out her hand. I shook it and gave her a kiss on the cheek, if she was with the boys; she was a friend of mine. She went back to sit down next to Harry as the other girls introduced themselves as Lauren and Maria, despite her attempt to sit down in the armchair next to him he pulled her down so she was sat on his lap, and he gave her the dimply grin she could do nothing about but roll her eyes and smile back at him. Maria went and sat on Liam's lap, less hesitant than Grace. Lauren took a seat on the sofa in between Louis and Niall, holding his hand and looking up at him with an expression of adoration on both of their faces. I hated to ruin the moment, but they were there for business, not to flaunt their affections for each other.

"I guess you know why you're here?" I began "I have hundreds of heartbroken fans- I'm sorry, hundreds of upset paying customers who are wondering why they couldn't see their favourite boy band in concert last night. Care to explain?"

“We actually have a very good reason for not making that concert” Louis stated smugly

“Take it away, Tomlinson” I sighed wearily, knowing he would make the situation much more dramatic that it needed to be. I closed my eyes and readied myself for the story when I heard Zayn’s voice

“The girls had a slight run-in with a tree, and the front got mashed up, as did Gracie’s head” he gestured to Grace, Harry moved the hair covering her forehead and the deep cut hidden became visible, it was just starting to heal, but was still red and angry looking. Zayn continued explaining, “Their VW was blocking the road along with the remains of the tree, and it was a good sixteen miles back to the motorway. None of us apart from Liam had reception and his phone was out of charge. So when he did manage to get hold of the AA they told us they couldn’t make it until this morning. And that’s why we didn’t make it to that concert”

Just then the receptionist from the ground floor knocked on the door and poked her head round the corner, “Uh, Mr Cowell, we have a bit of a situation downstairs that you may want to get seen to quite soon”

“Boris!” Lauren screeched out, before clapping her hands over her mouth and regaining her dignity, “I left the window to the boot open so he didn’t suffocate whilst we were gone, he must have climbed out”

Everyone suddenly realised what she meant, leaving only me in the dark as to what was going on. We ran out of the office and headed for the stairs, before Lauren and Grace realised they had to take the elevator if they didn’t want to break their necks, due to the heels they were wearing. The boys and Maria and I took the four flights of stairs to get to the reception on the ground floor. We arrived, breathless, at what looked like a scene out of a disaster movie.
