Summer Love

Three best friends, Lauren, Maria and Grace, had been planning the trip to celebrate the end of their 'A' levels since they were twelve. 16. And On That Note...

LOU’S POV

After a gruelling hour and a half prepping the girls, it was finally time to make the finishing touches and help them get dressed. I have to say, I was a bit jealous. The dresses they chose for themselves very much reflected their personalities. Maria and Lauren had ended up swapping dresses, as they both envied eachothers’. Grace’s dress gave off the mature air she carried about her, and the floral detail reflected her feminine, slightly flirtatious side. Maria’s dress screamed her personality; the silvery colour was eye-catching, just like the way she made her presence known when she entered a room. The embellishment on it made her green eyes sparkle with a confidence even more than they usually did. As for Lauren, her baby pink dress just made her seem even more loveable. The simplicity of it reflected the positivity of her entire existence, with nothing more to worry about than her friends, family, and food. The subtle detail made it apparent that she liked the finer things in life, but wasn’t ready to flaunt them to the world. Even though I hadn’t known these girls for any more than four hours, they made it easy to understand their roles in the friendship. I had text Louis to tell him to preoccupy Harry after the interview had finished. The others had called to say they were grabbing coffee lunch as they knew how chaotic it could get when getting ready for an event such as this one, so they were downstairs in Paul and the rest of the crews’ room getting ready, as I had gotten their clothes dropped off by room service. All of them were clearly labelled so we wouldn’t have a mix-up. I would pop down soon to help them out with their hair quickly and take Lux off their hands.

“Girls, I’m just going to go downstairs and make sure our charming little dickheads haven’t blown up the place with hair gel, ok? If I don’t see you before, have an amazing night!” I stuck my head into the bedroom, where they were all in various stages of getting ready. Grace, who was wrapped in her dressing gown, abandoned helping Maria do up the zip on her dress and walked over to me, giving me a hug and a kiss on the cheek and thanking me for helping them out

“Don’t be silly, it’s what I’m paid to do!” I laughed just as Lauren burst out of the en-suite bathroom, one arm stuck out awkwardly of the bodice and the floor length skirt twisted into a tangled mess.

“Lauren!” Grace exclaimed as Maria and I began to laugh, “You’re meant to step into it, not pull it over your head!” she turned and glared at us, trying to stifle her own giggles as she told us off for laughing. Lauren continued to pout as Grace unhitched the skirt and pulled down the bodice before zipping Lauren into her dress.

“And on that note, I’ve got to go!” I laughed, turning and leaving the girls in their own little worlds, as per usual.
