Some Poems I Wrote at Vanderbilt Summer Academy

The title says it all. I wrote these at a Summer School at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee and I want to share them with the world. :)

7. Come Play

The kids go round and round in a merry-go-round

 Playing with each other.

There is another kid coming to play.

The youth notice and admit him.

Because they do not care

Who you are,

What you are,

Or what you look like.

They tell the kid that there is only one rule in this game—

You cannot push or shove;

The mother of the child comes over

 And tells the children that when they fall,

they need to do it gently.

The youngsters nod, high-five and laugh;

They go AROUND and AROUND continuing their fun,

Never stopping they are frozen in time forever.
