New Year, New Life, New Me

Paige Mallory is the new girl around. She just moved down to texas from georgia. She was a world champ on Orange for many years. Her dad got a new gym so it's good bye to her old family and home that she called Stingrays. Once she walks through the doors of Cheer Athletics she knows that everything is going to change but is it for the better?

10. Set and Pull

Peyton's POV:

Paige came over and began to talk to me. I was glad that Jamie wasn't around because she would have gotten so mad! She asked me if she could help me get over my mental block. I immediately said yes.

I mean i knew she was good at it but i didn't expect it to work and plus i really wanted to be on the team this year. She told me to meet her at her house at 9 am tomorrow morning. I was not going to be happy waking up that early on a sunday but i knew that she was my best bet of getting back on the team.

Early the next morning i arrived at her huge house and we went to her back yard. We stretched and began flipping on her trampoline. I got as far as a layout and then got scared. She sat me down to talk.

"Okay what is going on in your head before you do any tumbling?" She asked me.

"Well its to land i guess." I said kinda shyly.

"You need to stop thinking that and just clear your mind and focus on setting and pulling. If you do those two things you can do anything. Once you focus just on that there wont be fear of not landing because you are so focused. I will spot you but i want you to do it."

We got back on the tramp and i began jumping, clearing my mind and just focusing. I set my arms up and i laid in my layout and then i pulled and began to spin. It was a whole turn until i safely landed. But now she wanted to tumble at the gym and the nerves and anxiety kicked in once again. I don't think i will ever be able to tumble again.

It all just scared me so much. I wanted to curl up in a ball and never tumble again. At this rate i may never cheer again. Because if i am not on Cheetahs then I'm not cheering. That team is my family. You can't leave family. I was practically dragged all the way to the gym and trust me nothing was going to get accomplished today and i felt so bad for wasting Paige's time.
