1. The Living Valley

Sighing

Breathes the dale

As the early morning winds

Comb through lustrous grass.

Washing

Streams and rivers run,

As the Scottish rain pours

Rinsing the high hills' back.

Talking

From hill to hill

As the highland cattle scamper

Shouting across the grassy hollow.

Daydreaming

In sun and rain

As rainbows form

Across the abundant valley.

Sleeping

Under a cold white moon,

As the canyon fills with silver-blue light,

Tucking in the tired foliage.
