10. Refuge

I stormed around Hell for a few days, avoiding guards. They hadn't put up posters of me, yet. Grumbling, I wandered down the street. My feet unconsciously led me toward the house I'd met the old demon. Shakily, I knocked on the door. I heard the patter of feet and the door opened. There she stood, that old demon that got me into this mess.

"Oh if it isn't the Queen! Please come in." She grinned and stepped aside.

I strode inside the small house. "What brings you here? Did you find your-"

"Yeah I did." I cut her off. "And it's led me to attacking my dad and getting kicked out of hell."

"Well if you're kicked out why are you here?" The old demon asked.

"I can't leave. I need my revenge." I hissed.

"Revenge never ends well dear."

"I don't give a damn." I snapped and whipped around.

I clenched my fists. "There's no way I'm letting him off the hook that easily."

The soft chuckling made me turn my head. "Whats so funny?"

"I'll let you stay here. Do whatever you want but I'm warning you this will not end well." She offered another smile.

"Really?" I tilted my head. "You'll let me stay here? Thanks."

I showed her my sharp teeth and looked around. There was a hammock in the corner with a couch near it. "Where should i sleep?"

"The hammock. It's to hazardous for me." The old demon patted my shoulder. "You must be tired get some rest."

"Uh yeah. Thank you ma'am." I nodded and headed toward the hammock.

I sighed and sank gratefully into the hammock, letting sleep consume me.
