28. Chapter 26: "Don't be stubborn."

**** AUGUSTS POV ****

"Harry I'm going outside, you coming?" I asked Harry, still holding the
door with my hands. I saw Harry eyeing me up and down and I quickly
looked down to hide my flushed cheeks I heard footsteps approaching and
soon saw two bare feet standing in front of my Vans.

"You look beautiful." He whispered in my ear, causing my breath to hitch
because of his raspy whisper.. With a smile on my face, he pulled away
and took a step back again and I stared at him, still a bit in a trance.

I then shook my head before looking at him again, "Back to what I asked,
you coming?" I asked and tilted my head.

"I can't." Harry explained and I saw disappointment written on his face.

"Oh." I breathed out quietly and looked down, not knowing what to say.
"Sorry."

"It's okay love, just go and I'll wait for you." He said and I smiled
before grabbing a small bag.  "You are not goint to school, are you?"
Harry asked and when I looked up to him I saw he was worried.

My eyes immediately widened too, "No of course not!" I said. "Never again."

Harry smiled, showing his dimples which made my heart melt.  "Good, but
where are you going to then?"

"To the ehm, mall, to do some shopping things." I hesitantly said and
looked down as I rubbed the back of my neck.

"You sure of that?" Harry asked me and I looked up to see he was
piercely looking into my eyes with his eyes narrowed.

"Y-yes." I stuttered out before quicly walking over to him and placing
a peck on his lips. "But I'll be back in an hour." I reassured him
before i walked out of the bedroom and towards the front door. I put on
my coat before opening the door and once outside, closing it again. As I
walked down the stairs towards the exit of the flatbuilding, I shivered
at the coldness in the air. Once outside, I dug my head more in my scarf
and walked past the playground and into the alley. Lying my hand on the
wall, I continued to walk causing my hand to brush the bricks. /This was
the alley in which Harry almost kissed me and almost killed me. /It felt
so weird, we only knew each other for two weeks in which we hadn't seen
each other for one and we were already so close. We trusted each other,
shared our past, hugged, kissed and even had sex with each other. People
always told me to not trust a boy when you only know him for not long,
but it was different between Harry and I. We were connected for some
reason. Although I knew him for such a short time, I surely knew I could
trust him.

Walking out of the alley, I looked over my shoulder when I heard an
engine. I saw a black Volvo parking onto the parkingarea and then a man
with short hair stepped out, but since his back was faced towards me I
couldn't conclude if I knew him or not, but I had to be honest; he was
quite familiar. Shrugging it off , I continued walking down the streets
as I watched the snow fall down. The streets were busy since every one
did their last shoppings for Christmas. That was when an idea popped
into my head. I turned around the corner instead of walking straight
forward and soon entered the mall. I sighed when I was inside and felt
the warm air engulfing me.

I continued strolling down different shops until one caught my eye. I
immediately smiled and walked inside it.

"Hi, can I help you?" A woman asked as she walked towards me with a fake
smile on her face.

"No thank you." I answered and gave her a smile before walking over to
the left wall. Letting my fingers brush over the covers as I searched
for the letter I needed. When I reached it, I smiled and searched for
the right name unti l found it. I then started to look which album I
needed by looking at all the covers. I searched for the title I needed
and when I read the back of the third album, I found it and immediately
walked over to the paydesk. Soon, the same woman who had asked me if I
needed helped walked over to it and stood on the opposite of me. I laid
the CD on the counter and she smiled.

"This is everything?" She asked and I nodded. She scanned the CD and I
saw the price appearing on the screen. "That's £13,99 please." She said
and I opened my bag to get out my wallet. As I zipped the zipper open, I
wondered if it was okay I would buy it. I got out the money and laid it
down on the counter.

"Thank you." The woman said and grabbed the money and put it in the cash
register before asking, "Is it a present?"

"Yes." I answered.

"For Christmas or a birthday?" SHe then asked and started to dig in the
drawers.

"Christmas." I smiled and she smiled back before grabbing a green-red
cover paper and starting to wrap the CD in it. As I waited for it to be
done, I looked around to see it was really busy which I understood;
everyone needed to buy a present for Christmas and do the
Christmas-shopping for the dinner.

"Here you go." The woman snapped me out of my thoughts and I turned my
head to look at her. I smiled again as I grabbed the little bag she
handed me.

"Thank you." I said to her and put the small bag into my bigger one.

"Have a nice Christmas." She said before walking away.

"You too." I called behind her before exiting the shop and walking back
towards the exit of the mall. Once I was outside, the cool air brushed
my cheeks and when I stepped into the snow, it squeezed under my feet.
The sky started to get dark already, since it was 4PM and in the winters
the dark would come faster and disappear later than it did in the
summer. As I put my scarf around my neck, I started walking towards the
sidewalk when I suddenly noticed a man in a black vehicle, which I
recognized from earlier, staring at me. Goosebumps appeared on my body
and I quickly hung my head down and continued walking, but picked up the
pace. To check, I looked over my shoulder and saw the black vehicle
started to drive off the parkingarea, making me even freak out more. But
I forced myself to stay calm, thinking it is nothing.

"August!" I suddenly heard a manly voice yell and turned around to see a
familiar man running towards me after stepping out of the car. I stood
frozen to the spot, taking in breath. I never thought I'd ever see him
again, and as much as I didn't want it, I couldn't move myself.

"Hey sweetheart." Dad greeted me and leaned down to give me a kiss on
the cheek, but I quickly dodged.

"What are you doing here?!" I asked as I raised my voice.

"To come and see you, you haven't called me lately so I was worried." he
explained, running a hand through his blonde hair.

"Well you never did too!" I yelled and my dad immediately looked around
him, noticing people looking at us, but I couldn't care less.

"Shall we go to your apartment? We can talk there." He hushed me and
placed a hand on my shoulder.

I swept his hand away and glared at him before harshly replying, "No."

"August please, don't be so stubborn. I also want to see your mum." Dad
said and I balled my hands into fist, feeling the anger and sadness rush
through my body.

"You can't see her anymore." I spat and dad took up one eyebrow.

"What do you mean?" He asked and tilted his head to the side as he
narrowed his eyes.

"She's dead." I whisper yelled and took a step back.

"What?!" My dad yelled and his eyes grew wide.

"Yeah, you know why?" I asked him and my jaw tensed.

"Is this a joke? Why did I not know about this?!" Dad yelled an brushed
his face with his hands, ignoring my question.

"Because you killed her, you fu.cking as.shole!" I yelled loud enough
for anyone to hear. Gasps surrounded us and dad looked me forcely in the
eyes for a few seconds as I glared into his. Suddenly, he walked behind
me and I felt his big hand grabbing both my wrist. I tried to yank them
back, but couldn't since his hold was too strong. He started to push me
forward with his other hand and I tried to wiggle free, but he wouldn't
let go.

"Where are we going?!" I asked him as I yelled when I noticed we were
walking towards his car.

"To Oxford. To mine." Dad spoke from behind me and my eyes immediately
widened.

"I can't!" I yelled and dug my heels into the pavement, trying to stop
us from walking in which I succeeded.

"You can't live on your own!" Dad yelled in my ear causing me to flinch.

"I am not living on my own!" I argued back and I felt dad tensing behind me.

"Who lives with you then?" he asked calmly but I could hear the
confusion in his voice.

"With my friend Harry." I told him  just before he pushed me against the
black vehicle, causing me to wince in pain and squeeze my eyes shut.

"Another to reason to take you with me." Dad harsly said before opening
the passengerdoor and pushing me inside against my will. He buckled my
seatbelt, although I struggled, but he was tall and strong too, but
still not as tall and as strong as Harry. He closed the door and when my
hands pulled at the handle, it wouldn't budge. I screamed for help and
pulled at the handle, pushed against the door, kicked against it. Tears
started to form in my eyes when I realized I didn't have any other
choice. I felt dad getting inside next to me, the car shaking as he did,
but I refused to look at him.

"I'm sorry August, I don't have any other choice." Dad said before
starting the engine and driving away.

"Bullshit." I spat back and bit my lip, looking outside. I held my bag
on my lap and looked down at it, seeing the little bag in it which made
me realize something.

He was still waiting for me to come back, having no idea where I was at
this moment, or where I was going. Tears started to escape my eyes, I
couldn't hold them in any longer. My breath hitched at the thought of
him waiting for me to come back. To kiss me. Hug me. /Love me. /My heart
sunk even more, when I realized I maybe wouldn't see him anymore. I
leaned my head against the window, watching the familiar streets turning
into strange ones.

I stroke the glass with my hand, feeling the coolness of it on my skin.
"I'm sorry Harry." I whispered and shut my eyes.
