Change My Mind.

McClaren's life takes an unexpected turn as she discovers that her grandfather has passed away and has to fly out to Ireland to say her last goodbyes, but what happens when she bumps into a blonde haired-blue eyed Irish lad that might just be the reason she changes her mind and stays?

5. It's You.

Quick A/N - I'm not writing 'McClaren's POV' at the start of chapters anymore, I'll do it when I change POV then go back to McClaren's though.

I eyed the blonde haired-hazel eyed man warily, making sure it was him before slapping the smile right off his face.

"What the hell was that for?" Christian asked as he gently rubbed his face where I'd slapped him.

"You know what that was for, you left us, right after dad left; You don't care about anyone besides yourself, just leave before you do more damage. That's what all the men in this family do, LEAVE!" I shouted before slamming the door in his face and locking it.

I sat on my bed thinking about how bad things were when both he and dad left us.

Niall turned off the shower, quietly opened the bathroom door and made his way into my room, only wearing a towel.

"Are you okay?" Niall asked as he rubbed my back with one hand and turned my head so our eyes met with his other hand.

"I don't know." I replied because honestly, after seeing Christian, I wasn't sure.

He quickly dried himself off in the bathroom before coming back into my room with his boxers and a top on.

"Lie down." He commanded and I did as I was told, taking my dressing gown off before I did so.

He quickly removed his top before lying down next to me and pulling the quilt upto our necks.

We were both lay on our sides facing each other and after a few seconds of looking into each others eyes I felt his arms wrap around my waist and pull me so close to him that there was no room left between us.

I pulled the quilt down abit and rested my head on his bare chest and allowing myself to drift off to sleep to the sweet sound of Niall singing 'Moments' to me.

I woke up to the sound of banging on both mine and Niall's doors and heard my mum shouting my name.

I quickly shook Niall to wake him up and told him to go back into his room quietly because our mums were outside.

He tiptoed through the bathroom, closing both doors behind him before quietly walking into his room and making his bed look like it'd been slept in.

I quickly put my dressing gown on and tied it around my waist before I walked over to the door, unlocked it and opened it to see my mums face filled with worry and concern.

"What d'you want mother?" I sighed as she barged into my room.

"Why weren't you opening your door?" She asked frantically as she took a deep breath and counted to 11.

Why 11 you might ask?

Because that extra second really does make a difference.

"I was asleep, sorry I must of been in a really deep one." I replied before letting out a yawn.

"Oh am I boring you?" My mum asked getting slightly annoyed as she began tapping her foot.

"No mum, I only just woke up remember.." I said as I rolled my eyes.

"Did you just roll your eyes at me?" She questioned me growing even more frustrated.

"No.. Yeah, maybe a little but there was an eyelash in it." I lied as she narrowed her eyes at me.

She started lecturing me about how rolling my eyes and lying about rolling my eyes is bad.

"Okay.. Okay... Yes.. Alright mother.. You can stop talking now." I said.

"Don't you dare tell me to stop talking young lady!" She exclaimed as I sighed.

"It was a joke, just calm down!" I said as she cocked her eyebrow at me.

"Well, it wasn't funny!" She replied angrily.

I sighed and gritted my teeth multiple times.

Don't get me wrong, I love my mum but she really does go on abit sometimes.

"I'm the parent, it's my house, my rules." I mimicked her when she turned her back.

"Well, technically it's not YOUR house.." I said, emphasising on your.

"Don't sass me Mrs or you'll stay in Ireland with me for an extra month!" She said in a serious tone.

"But that's not fair! I have a job to go to!" I insisted as she shook her head at me.

"Life's not fair." She replied very matter-of-factly.

"I know." I said.

"You know, back in my day we didn't have internet or TV." She stated, making me roll my eyes at her again.

"What's this got to do with the internet or TV? And I know but that was a hundred years ago!" I replied making her gasp and turn round.

"Are you saying I'm old?" She asked.

"No, I wasn't saying you were old it was just an exaggeration of time!" I said in defence.

"You're grounded." She replied with a wicked grin.

"Are you serious?" I asked, I mean come on? I'm too old to be grounded, I'm an adult according to the law!

"Are you talking back to me?" She challenged me as I mentally laughed at how stupid the question was.

"Well yeah.. That's kinda how communication works.." I said in a 'duh' tone as she rolled her eyes at me.

Well. That was uncalled for considering she just gave me a lecture about it 2 minutes ago.

She began lecturing me again and I started fake crying to get her to shutup.

"Are you fake crying?" She asked.

"What? Fake crying? No.." I lied as she sighed and walked off.

"Okay then, you walk away, real mature, it's good to know who the adults are around here." I shouted before locking my door once again.

As soon as the door was locked Niall walked into my room in a fit of laughter.

"What's so funny?" I asked as I furrowed my eyebrows at him in confusion.

"You.. I.. Heard.. All.. Of... It." He said inbetween laughs.

"What did your mum say?" I asked curiously.

"Oh she just told me breakfast would be ready soon." Niall replied.

"Oh okay, go get dressed." I demanded as I made my way over to my wardrobe to get my PJ shorts out.

I put them on, put my bedsocks on and picked the shirt up off the floor and pulled it over my head, I quickly looked down at it, hm, I don't remember buying this..

I shrugged my shoulders and went downstairs to see Niall happily eating his breakfast, unaware of my presence.

I walked in the kitchen to see Niall's mum pouring some orange juice out.

"Good morning love, would you like some?" She asked gesturing to the orange juice.

"Yes please Maura." I answered and she smiled when I said her name.

She quickly poured me a glass and handed it to me.

"Thankyou Maura." I said as she smiled and nodded in response.

Her eyes wandered down to the top I was wearing.

"So, are you and Niall an item?" She asked which almost made me choke on my orange juice.

"No.. Why would you think that?" I asked in confusion.

"Well, you are wearing his shirt." She said, gesturing to the white New York top I had on.

"Oh, I didn't realise, sorry I'll go change." I replied.

"No, it looks nice on you, it's rather baggy on you though." She said.

"Have you seen my mum?" I asked curiously.

"She went out with your brother not long ago." She replied and I sighed.

I fought back tears as I took another sip of my orange juice.

I wish people wouldn't call him that, he lost that title along with his rights a long time ago.

He doesn't deserve any second chances and he sure as hell ain't getting one from me.

Him and dad put us through hell the day they walked out on us.

Mum might be naive but I'm not.

It's a long one!

Sorry if there's any typo's, I'm really tired and can't be bothered to check for mistakes.
