Dead End

KC Circuit isn't a race track. She's a normal teenage girl who takes a fancy to training sports or self defense, or painting with metallics.

Her life is really put to the test when everything changes. The once crowded streets of her hometown, Silverville, are teeming with parasites so vicious, it can change the way of humanity. And not in the way that people the way that people die, and come crawling back to life.
Zombies. And they're out to get her.

Dedicated to my best friend Ellie Ruddlesdin :)

11. It's Not Do, It's Die

KC was half way down the street when she heard it. It was as loud and alarming as the first, and KC recognised it straight away.

KC, determined not to let go of the basket, gripped the leather-like handles tight, and raced down the street, confused and uncoordinated in which direction she was headed. She just ran, and stopped directly where the screams continued. It was in a store, something KC would never go into. Accessorise.

KC, nervous to what she would find, ran inside. She saw it almost instantly, towards the back of the store. A Zombie, towering over Ellie like a skyscraper, clawed at her. The bat had rolled helplessly along the floor, under a rack of shoes and bags. KC shook her head, swore, and dropped the basket. She didn't want to, but anything to stop Ellie from being bitten...

KC slid across the carpet. She scooped up the bat, and held it in the perfect position. She swung it with all her might as she stood behind the Zombie. It hadn't even noticed her. Down the bat came, landing with a sharp THUD against the Zombie's head. KC drew back the bat and dove in for another hit, but she didn't need to. It fell to the floor, a hole the size of a mouse trap taken out of it's head. Blood dripped from the bat, and KC dropped it in disgust. Then she turned to Ellie.

'Did he get you?'

KC's heart thumped, as Ellie's answer came with a small whimper.
