Forbidden ~ Harry Styles ~ (On Hold)

* Harry is not famous in this story *

Many say how there are two kinds of people in this world.

In Pax town there certainly are two kinds of very different people. I never really understood the name of our little town, after all "pax" means peaceful in latin, but believe me, we're anything but.

From a very young age I've been told to stay away from them. You may call them The Rebels, but out here everyone calls them the lower class, the scums, the bastards.

We are very different from them, like North and South, hot and cold; we're complete opposites. Besides the constant rumours about them going around, I can't help but think what it would be like to be them for a day....

My father would never allow it. He'd never let his only daughter do anything close to danger.
Apart from all the warnings, there's always one of the rebels who catches my eye.

I believe his name is Harry, Harry Styles.

2. Unexpected meeting

I looked into the mirror and smiled approvingly. I was wearing my favourite lace baby blue dress. Perfect for this occasion, not too delicate and no too extravagant.

A light knock on the door disturbed the silence which filled the air.

"Rachel, may I come in?" I could never mistake my dad's voice; hoarse but sweet.

"Yes, I'm all done." He slowly opened the door, hiding his hand behind his back.

"You look beautiful, as always." I looked into his green eyes and offered him a huge smile at his compliment.

"Thanks dad, I bet mum would've loved this dress." His face dropped at the mention of her name. She had died  two years ago; the cause of her death was still unknown. Of course some people would blame it on the rebels but they couldn't do much about it.

"Yes. Especially if you wore it with this." He pulled his hand out from behind his back and opened it. In his palm there was a delicate blue butterfly necklace.

"This was your mother's favourite necklace, she wore it everywhere. Even on our wedding day," he gave a chuckle at the memory before continuing, "I want you to have it. To remind you about real happiness."

I wrapped my arms around my dad and gave him a tight hug. "Thank you, dad."

"It's alright, sweetheart. Now get finished because the guests are going to arrive very soon."

I gave him a small wave and continued to examine my new treasure. It was truly beautiful. I placed it around my neck, gasping at the coldness of the metal butterfly against my warm skin.

"Rachel, you look wonderful."

I turned my head towards the door and saw Luke standing in the door way with his perfectly waxed hair and straightened tuxedo.

"Thank you. You look dashing as well."

His eyes stopped right above my chest, gazing at the butterfly.

"Oh that's a unique necklace. But I was hoping you would accept this lovely gift and perhaps wear it tonight." His hand went into his pocket and he pulled out an elegant necklace decorated with multitudes of rhinestones.

"That is quite a necklace. Maybe a bit too wonderful for me to wear." I didn't want to be rude, after all the jewels looked like they were worth a lot of money.

"No sense. My lady deserves the best, and in this case a precious rock from all over this country and perhaps this world. Let me put it on you."

Before I could protest, he came behind me and took my mother's necklace off, quickly replacing it with his own.

It felt quiet heavy, I was starting to question if I'd make it through the night.

- 3 hours later -

This dinner was getting far too loud for my liking. I had managed to run away from Luke a few minutes ago, telling him that I needed to use the bathroom.

I was not used to lying but I needed some time alone and away from all the bragging.

Walking around the grand halls, I finally had an idea. Why not go walk around town? After all it would be just like one of my daily walks.... But at night.

Of course I wouldn't have my father or Luke with me but I'd be fine.

Before I could regret my choice, I opened the big oak doors and walked onto one of the main streets.

As I continued walking, I took my mother's necklace from a little pocket on my dress and switched it with Luke's.

It sure was darker than it appeared this morning. Putting aside my common sense, I continued walk down a street that I was sure I'd seen before.

As I continued walking, I soon realized that I kept going deeper into this town. Until I was lost.

Alright so maybe this wasn't the brightest idea but at least my surroundings and peaceful and quiet.

Once again, I spoke too soon.

I heard some muffled male voices and as I rounded the corner I and face to face with two tall men.

My eyes widened when big smirks played on their faces.

"Well, look what we have here. A little rich brat roaming around our streets." His voice was raspy and he reeked of cigarettes.

"What do you think we should do with her? She sure is one of the pretty brats." The next man was younger but his last sentence did not help to calm my nerves.

By this point they started to walk forward. For every step they took, I took one back.

It was my turn to speak.

"Look, if you want money then t-take it." I stammered in the middle of my sentence but I was surprised that I didn't sound too scared.

"We don't want your useless money. We want something else." When he spoke, the man raked his eyes over my body.

That is when I became scared and decided that calling for help was the only reasonable option here.

"HELP! PLEASE HELP ME." I backed away even more when they came closer to me.

I thought they would do their deed in the next few seconds but they never did. Instead I heard a voice.

"Mark. Ben. Back away and leave her alone." I knew that voice, the deep husky tone which only belonged to the one who filled my thoughts.

"C'mon, mate, we were just having a little fun." I really did not want to know what kind of 'fun' they were talking about.

"You heard me. Go."

They glared at something or someone behind me, but walked off without saying anything. As if nothing had happened.

I stood there for a second, until I heard footsteps approaching me from behind.

A hand enveloped mine and spun me around.     I locked gazed with bright green eyes and my heart immediately stopped.

"I never thought I'd actually see you again." His tone sounded relieved.

"Well it seems you have. Thank you for helping me, but if you excuse me I really need to get back." I gave him a smile and turned to walk away.

The problem was the hand which was attached to mine.

"Wait. I'll walk you back." I gave him a questioning look. This was the first time that a rebel had shown kindness.

"I'm alright, but thank you for the offer." He still wouldn't let go but instead held tighter.

"C'mon, we don't want another little incident tonight, do we?" Okay now he had the upper hand in this conversation.

"Alright, thank you for doing this." I offered him a smile and he returned it with one of his own. I made a move to pull my hand away but instead he entwined our fingers and pulled me along with him.

He had a big smile on his face as he looked down at me. Only now I had realized how tall he really was.

"You look hot tonight." I raised my eyebrow at him with a smile playing on my lips. He only smirked and winked at me before continuing to walk.

Only then did I realize what would happen if Luke saw me walking with Harry.

Oh boy.

Here is the Wednesday update :) The next chapter will start with the continuation of their walk. What do you think about this chapter? I try to make the chapters eventful and long.
