Don't Let Me Go

Raelynn has to move halfway across the world for her fathers job, San Diego is all she's ever known. Will meeting a special someone turn a bad situation around?

6. Picnics

I fell asleep that night planning what I would wear to my first date with Harry, I didn't even know where we were going, I knew to dinner but I didn't know what kind of place. I texted Harry hoping it wouldn't be too late for him. He responded telling me it's a surprise but not to wear something too fancy. Alright. So that doesn't tell me much, considering I don't think I own one fancy dress. I thought I might wear a floral print dress I got at forever 21 with some pink flats. Yeah. I think that's what I'll wear. I turned over and tried to imagine how it would go tomorrow. I woke up at 10 and thought I better hurry up and take a shower and get ready before Harry gets here. Once I got out of the shower I dried my hair and curled it in loose curls then put on some light foundation and mascara. I went to my room and got out my dress and shoes and put them on before checking the time, 11:47, I still had some time before he got here so I went to the bathroom and touched up my hair and went and laid on my bed scrolling through tumblr. It was 11:56 when I heard a knock on the door. I opened it to see Harry there in jeans and a t shirt with white converse. "You look nice" he said with that amazing smile. "Thanks" I blushingly said. I yelled to my mom telling her I'm leaving then followed Harry out to his car. He opened the door for me and I got in. I watched as he walked around the car to the drivers side which is totally different here in London and we drove off to wherever we were going. I found myself constantly looking over at him smiling thinking of how I might like this move after all. We arrived at what looked like a park and I started to get out but Harry ran over and opened the door before I could. I thanked him before he got into the trunk and got out a picnic basket and a blanket. I smiled and we walked hand in hand to a grassy place away from everyone else. I wasn't hungry but I didn't want to tell him that so I just took a few bites of the sandwiches he packed. "Thanks for the picnic Harry, it's wonderful"
"Thanks for the picnic Harry, it's wonderful" I heard Raelynn say. I smiled and took a moment to look at her. She was stunning with her long blonde hair and deep brown eyes. She looked absolutely beautiful. "You look very beautiful today Raelynn" by the way she took compliments I didn't think she got them too much. She wasn't exactly what society harshly claims to be beauty. She didn't have a model like body and I loved that. She didn't have a "thigh gap" or a flat stomach and she was still the most breathtaking girl I've ever laid my eyes on.
I thought she might think it was odd for me continue to stare at her so I focused on my sandwich in front of me hoping I'd see Raelynn again sometime in the very near future.
