8. Girlfriend

Harry and I walked out into the living room, after doing the dishes. We sat down on a couch, I was in Harry’s lap. Megan and Niall were extremely close, which I thought was cute. Maybe Niall would be good for her.
"What are we going to do today?" Liam asked as Harry and I sat down.
"Sydney and I had plans, I don't know about the rest of you." Harry replied. Why wasn't I informed of these plans?
"We do?" I asked. Harry nodded.
"Well then if we have plans, I have to get home and shower. I grabbed my clothes, and didn't feel like changing. Harry walked me back to my flat.
"I'll call you when I'm ready." He nodded, and kissed me goodbye. I got in the shower, and after I left my hair wavy. I didn't know what I needed to wear, so I texted Harry.
'What do I need to wear?' I sat staring in my closet, waiting for an answer. After about five minutes, he responded.
'Dress casually.' He replied. I finally knew what to wear. I put on my dark blue, ripped skinny jeans, and my tan crochet tee. I grabbed some brown sandals to go with it. I did my makeup, and texted Harry that I was ready.
'I'm not. I'll be there soon.' He replied. I decided to just sit on the sofa and play on my phone. Within 15 minutes, there was a knock on the door. I opened it up, and there was Harry with a bouquet of lillies.
"Harry! These are beautiful! Thank you!" I gave him a kiss on the cheek. "Let me put these in a vase, and we can go." He nodded. When I was taking care of the flowers, he was staning at the bar. "Where are we going?" He chuckled.
    "It's a secret." He smiled. I groaned.
"Harry! You're going to kill me! I hate surprises!" I exclaimed.
"I guess I'm just going to have to visit your grave then!" He joked. I rolled my eyes at him.
"K. Let's go." I told him, after putting the flowers in the vase. He grabbed my hand, and I locked the door before leaving. He grabbed my hand again, and we went down the elevator. He drove to Hyde Park.
"What are we doing here?" I asked him.
"Do you like boat rides?" He asked smiling.
"I love them." I replied. We walked over to a boat, and were in a pedal boat for an hour.
    "Now where?" I asked him.
"Dinner!" I replied. Our lunch consisted of chocolate chip pancakes, and it was already eight. I felt my stomach growl. He drove us to the London eye.
"What are we doing here? I thought we were getting dinner." I asked him.
"We are." One of the carousels was open, waiting for us. It had a picnic blanket inside, and chinese takeout boxes.
"Harry, this is so cute! How'd you get all of this set up?" I asked.
"Really?" He asked sarcastically. I giggled. He led me in the carousel and I sat down. He handed me a box, and I took it. We went around long enough to finish our food, and talk for a while. There was silence.
    "Sydney?" Harry asked.
"Yeah?" I replied, I was taking in the view of London. It was so beautiful. Harry wasn't responding, so I looked at him. He was looking down. "Are you okay?" I asked. He looked up.
"Yeah. I'm fine." He replied. I could tell he was nervous about something, but I didn't know what.
"Was there something you wanted to ask me?" I asked.
"Oh. Right. Um." He paused, and he was still nervous. "Will you be my girlfriend?" He slowly asked.
"Harry, I would love to." I replied. He looked up and smiled at me. He leaned over, and kissed me. We stood up, and looked down. There was a large group of people standing below us. "Who's that?" I asked. Wonderful way to ruin the moment. We were getting closer and closer to the ground.
"Shit. It's the paps." Harry told me. There were bright flashes when we were coming closer to the ground. "Just stay close, and ignore everything they have to say." He told me. 'What a wonderful two second lesson on paparazzi!' I thought to myself. Harry grabbed my waist, and pulled me close. The door to the carousel was opened, and we had to walk through the bright flashes of cameras and people. You could hear screaming girls behind them. I was looking down, trying to be able to see where I was going. The paparazzi was shouting things.
I mainly heard, "Harry! Who's this?" and "Is this your girlfriend, Harry?" or even questions thrown at me like, "Who are you?" and "Are you dating Harry?" We walked quietly through the shouting and flashes, and eventually made it to the car. Harry opened the door for me, and went around to the other side, and got in. Before starting the car, he turned to me.
"I'm really sorry about this." Harry told me. He started the car.
"Don't worry about it! You didn't know they'd be coming." I replied. We had to slowly drive away, because of all the people crowding the car. We finally got away, and Harry grabbed my hand, as we were sitting in the car. We got to our building. We walked inside, and Harry walked me to my flat. "I had a lot of fun tonight." I told him at the door.
"It was fun! Until the paparazzi came and ruined it all." He told me.
"Harry! Don't worry about it. We're here, and we're safe. I liked how tight you were hanging on to me." I winked at him. He chuckled.
"I was just trying to keep you safe." He replied.
"Yeah. Okay." I replied sarcastically. He laughed. I unlocked the door, and he walked in with me. "Thank you." I told him.
    "For what?" He asked.
"Tonight. Keeping me safe. All of it." I told him.
"Oh. You're welcome." He replied. He pulled me close, and had his arms wrapped around my waist, and mine were wrapped around his neck. I had my head on his chest, and then looked up. He smiled at me.
    "What?" I asked.
"You're just, so beautiful! How'd I get so lucky?" He asked. I could feel my face turn red. I looked down. He took his hand, and gently lifted my chin up. He started singing the words to What Makes You Beautiful. I laughed at him. "What?" He asked laughing.
"You're so cheesy!" I replied laughing. "But, it's adorable." I replied. He leaned down, and kissed me. The kiss was broken, and I laid my head down on his chest.
"I don't want to leave." I told me after a few minutes.
"I don't want you to leave either, but I need sleep, Harry." He chuckled, and I could feel it. After a few more minutes of being in each others' arms, I looked up at him, and he looked right back at me. He gave me one more passionate kiss, and let go of me. I let go of him, and walked him out the door.
    "Goodnight Harry."
    "Goodnight Sydney."
