9. Valentine's Day on Olympus

I danced around this mystical fire, not caring what day it actually was. The nymphs and satyrs looked at me with such kindness, and I felt better, so much better. I felt more free then I ever have before. Then she; Nymphaeta the Nymph of Healing came to me and placed her hand upon my dancing shoulder. I stopped dancing as she pulled me from the revolving circle of remaining dancers.

"Aglaia, it is time for you to return to Mount Olympus. It is Valentine's Day, the most important day for you and your mother."

"Nymphaeta, are you sure I'm well?"

"You are glowing. A sure sign of a healthy goddess." She put her finger tips to my forehead, and I felt myself grow drowsy with an alarmingly rapid rate, it was like having the largest supply of Ambrosia and then suddenly its ripped away from you, and your beaten until you can no longer stand to get back up to fight. I fell into her arms and a different set of arms replaced her feathery light touch. I opened my eyes and the familiarity of my room overwhelmed my senses. The satyrs were gone, and Elpidios held me close. Thalia laid on a floating cloud at the end of the bed. I looked up into the sleeping face of my Companion and slid out of bed.

I dressed and opened my closet. I thought of Samantha and went through the barrier. The room was dark and an odd noise was echoing throughout the room. I wished for the lights to turn on and they did. On the bed, Samantha was pinned down by her I guess her father, I pointed at him and a purple blast of lightening flew from my fingers. The man looked up from where he laid in a crumpled pile of filth on the floor, he was scared.

I took on the quality of Zeus' voice as I faced him, " SAMANTHA IS YOUR DAUGHTER! I'M THE GODDESS OF FORBIDDEN LOVE AND SACRIFICE BUT EVEN I CAN NOT STAND FOR SUCH A DISGRACE. NO WONDER MY GRANDFATHER DENOUNCED YOUR KIND'S NAMES IN OLYMPUS YOUR ALL FILTH, DISGUSTING. ONLY LIVING TO PLEASE YOUR LONGINGS NO MATTER HOW GHASTLY THEY ARE. LEAVE THIS PLACE AND NEVER RETURN!" I quieted and watched as the scared little man-pig fled the room. I turned to Samantha who was trying to cover herself up.

"Thank you- Aglaia...He found out, about Seb-astian. He called me a wh*re! He ripped my clothes off and pinned me to the ground. Gods can only imagine what he would've done if you hadn't shown up." She said crying. I went over to her and smiled.

"Samantha its alright, honest. I'm sure it happens to everyone sometime. I hope not with father's but forced sexual intercourse is natural in societies now a days. I wish it wasn't but even I can't change that. Just be glad it only got to him pinning you down."

"Did you feel me? When I came to visit you."

"You came to Olympus?"

"Yes, your mother escorted me there. Zeus would do anything to get you better."

"Zeus hates me."

"No the opposite. You're the only grand child he likes."

"Samantha thank you. I must be going. Its Valentine's Day after all."

"Sebastian is coming to get me anytime now." I smiled and pictured her outfit and it appeared on her, her hair and make up done. She wore a red mini dress with a sweetheart neckline and black stud pumps, and a leather jacket. Her hair was in a high fashion pony tail, and her eyes were sparkling with red glitter eye-shadow. She looked hot. "Oh My GODS, thank you so much Aglaia! Its perfect!" She wrapped her arms around me and jumped up and down. I pictured Sebastian and I opened my eyes. Down below the doorbell rang and Samantha smiled and raced down to meet him. I looked out the window and saw the most handsome boy, Sebastian, when he saw Samantha I knew this forbidden love, was the perfect way to kick start my return to Olympus. I looked to the stars and they glittered happily as if knowing that two Goddesses of love were out tonight trying to make St. Valentine's Day special for everyone.

I returned to the mirror and stepped through into my own room. Elpidios laid where I left him but Thalia was awake. I stroked her nose lovingly and shook Elpidios gently awake. He woke and when he saw me standing he smiled and the room became even brighter.

"Happy Valentine's Day." I said smiling.

"Happy Valentine's Day Aglaia. Its good to have you back." he reached up and kissed me.

*Aphrodite*

I left Apollo asleep and went off into the human world. My daughter has returned, and was doing her work tonight as well, I hope. Or she's spending Valentine's day with her Companion. Like I should be doing. But as soon as the sun sets Apollo sets as well. I didn't mind, I could hardly bear to be with him conscious twenty four hours a day like most Gods, most Gods don't sleep, they feel guilty over past flings, or thinking of their demi-god children down on Earth. I opened Apollo's gate way to the Human world and set foot onto the busy streets of Times Square. Where Aglaia first found out her powers. I was dressed in a pink pea-coat, blue skinny jeans and thigh high black leather boots. My hair fell in long golden waves and my eyes normally fuchsia were human blue. Everywhere I went I let go my love mist. It was invisible to the naked human eye but Gods and those with the Sight could see it, inside Mist were mini Cherubs. They would shoot their bows at couples having fights, or two friends too stupid to realize they were meant to be, or the boyfriend of six years so he would finally propose.

I liked my job, and I especially loved Valentine's Day. My daughter had her fun, encouraging affairs, helping teenaged girls go out with the 'wrong guy' but I'm sure she made sure that the 'wrong guy' was really the right guy. I flash of movement caught my eye and I turned. A young girl wearing a black leather jacket and a red mini dress was walking hand in hand with a beautiful boy, he looked like a classic John Travolta character, like Danny from Grease. He had the bad boy image but underneath he was a sweet heart. They didn't need my help, my beautiful daughter had done this for them. These two happy beautiful people were Samantha Green and Sebastian White.  They were Companions. I blew a kiss, a special kiss, one that would make sure that they would always find their way back to one another. When the kiss hit them a flash of pink flashed over them, and without realizing it they gravitated closer to each-other. I smiled and my work was done, the sun would be up and Valentine's Day would be over, until next year. But my work is never done. As long as there are people, there will be Love, and I'm Love.
