Snow in September

*Sequel to Summer Love
Emily & Sarah return to New York after a long Irish summer. In their 2 month adventure, the girls got close to the lads of One Direction, Emily especially close to Niall. The girls tested their friendship as Sarah got upset & jealous of Emily. Now back for their junior year, the girls face even more hardships as they begin to drift & cling on to the last strand. The girls go to one last 1D concert in hopes of saving their friendship. Bit when Emily is asked to tour with her favorite band, will that be the end of their friendship?

7. Back Home

For tonight's show, Sarah and I opted for just standing in the crowd; we would spend Madison Square Garden backstage and possibly on stage.

We stayed in the tour bus until it was time to head in to the arena. I examined myself in the mirror, fixing myself and make-up. I had tried on several outfits in the past month, settling on what I thought was the perfect outfit. I wore dark red jeans, a loose white high-low top, and Taylor's signature cropped black leather jacket. My long hair was down and in loose curls, a small white bow was secured on the back of my head.

"You ready?" Sarah emerged from the bathroom, dressed simply in torn acid wash jeans, a fitted black v-neck, and a light grey sweater was draped over her arm. She slipped on her all black Vans and came towards me.

"Yeah, just about." I respond as I slip on my black Toms.

"You look nice. New clothes?" She asks as we head out.

"Sorta. It's my roommates jacket and my parents send clothes like twice a month."

"Yep." I nodded my head. The sun was setting and the air was getting chilly. We walked faster and hurried into the arena. The place was packed and Sarah and I had to push our way through to get to our seats.

"So, are you seriously gonna make the boys fight or compete over you?"

"Yep. Let the games begin." She said with a cocky smile.

"Why? They all practically worship the ground you walk on." Except Niall, I add silently.

"Good. Then I'll go out with whoever pays closer attention to me."

"Sarah..." I begin, although I know there's no hope in trying to reason with her. I sigh and we wait for the boys to come on.

The concert seemed to drag on and I just wanted to be with Niall. A little before the concert ended, Sarah and I made our way backstage to wait for the guys. I plopped down on the couch and sighed. A few moments later, Niall plopped down next to me. He automatically placed his hand on my leg and I placed mine on  top of his. All the others migrated to Sarah and hovered around her.

"She said she would date whoever pays more attention to her."

"That's pathetic."

"I know. But it's what she does. Half the time she doesn't even really like them back. She's just an attention seeker." I leaned back in to his arm and rolled my eyes.

Sarah then walked up towards us, walking hand in hand with Harry.

Looks like we have a winner.

"Em, wanna head out? Your parents said they want to see you. We can grab a cab to your apartment and visit them, then go to my place?"

"Sounds good," I got up. "I'll call you later?" I turned to Niall. He nodded his head as he got up. He gave me a long hug and a small kiss.

"I'll see you later, babe? Call me." Sarah winked as she gave Harry a kiss. I really hoped he didn't get hurt.

When we got to my place, my heart started to pound really fast. I climbed up the steps of the stoop, and headed to the elevator. I was shaking the entire ride up and Sarah did nothing. All she did was giggle at her phone.

I rolled my eyes and got out. Once we got to my old apartment, I put my hand on the door knob and took a deep breath. I turned the knob and headed in.

"Mommy!" I exclaim as I see my mother in the kitchen.

"EM! Oh darling tell me everything!" We sit down and the table and she holds my hands in hers. I tell her everything about my new school. All about Taylor, my classes, my friends, and about performing last night.

"Thank you, Mom. I didn't think I'd enjoy this as much as I am. I'm sorry about how I acted coming back from Ireland. I was stressed, upset, tired, and I wasn't ready."

"It's okay, darling. I understand. I'm glad you're enjoying yourself." We got up and she pulled me in for a hug.

"I'm gonna go say hi to Dad and Ryan, grab some stuff and then I'll head out. Tonight was a really long night what with the drive down here and the concert and all that." I make it a point to take out the part of spending the day shopping and wandering around with the guys.

"Stop by soon, okay?"

"I will." I smile. I head in to my old room just to find Sarah on the phone with Harry. I roll my eyes as I pick out some clothes and stuff to hang up in my dorm. I knocked on Ryan's door. "Hey, Ry. Just stopped by to say hey and to grab some stuff. So, uh, hey!"

"Sup baby sis." He pulled me in for a hug, a goofy smile creeped on his face.

"You okay? You never hug me. Or smile."

"I just missed you. Haven't really seen you since you left for Ireland!" Okay something was off. He ruffled my hair and walked back to his room. I shook it off and went to go talk to my dad.

I said goodbye to my family and I was almost out the door when I turned back around. "Oh mom, what's with Ryan?" I whispered.

"Girlfriend." She mouthed. Ryan? A girlfriend? That explains so much. I grabbed Sarah and we headed back out to her own apartment building.
