Even If.

"You'd love me? Even if it's not you who I choose?" I whispered to him.
"Even if," he swore.

6. Five.

The Day I Became a Street Performer and a Zumba Addict.

THIS IS WHERE THE ROMANCE STARTS:) hehe I've been waiting for this for a really long time *laughs ominously* there is so much more to come... hehe.

Song of the chapter: Bubbly by Colbie Caillet

------/------/------/------/-------/-----/

I picked up the box quizzickly, trying to evade the thought that was already in my mind.

Should I do this?

Before I could've told myself not to, I carried the box to my TV and popped it into my Wii console.

Let me explain.

In Cheshire, I had a postal address where my subscribers could send me letters and things. Before I knew it, I started getting big, expensive things like cameras and equipment and gadgets. I didn't want my viewers to spend so much money on me, but hey, I couldn't say I didn't enjoy the goodies.

On the last day I checked my post box before moving it to a London post office, I got a rather peculiar package containing a Wii and the game Zumba.

Now, don't call me weird, but this Zumba thing was on my mind all the time before that very moment and I really wanted to try it.

I was already dressed and ready to go and I had half an hour to spare. I mean, there was nothing else to do. I'd already eaten lunch, Zeus was well fed and already walked, I'd already browsed through Twitter, all I could do other than Zumba was sit and wait until one a clock came around.

Curiosity got the best of me as I grabbed the Wii remote and clicked on the Zumba pop up. As I waited for it to load, I strapped on the bands and got ready to dance.

I clicked on the first song and waited for it to load in anticipation, feeling slightly silly.

Once it loaded, I saw a girl who was said to be my "instructor" and she started dancing some serious Latin dancing. I danced along, looking over my shoulder to see that there was no one in the back window.

I've got to admit, the first time I did it, I felt so stupid. I barely danced at all because I was so hesitant. But I was determined to become a master at Zumba, so once the first song ended, I started another one, and another, getting more into it the further along I went. Do Americans do this a lot?

Once I clicked on the song, Can't Hold Us by Macklemore, I was seriously in the game and even had a bead of sweat down my face. I made a mental note not to work too hard as I was about to go on a date. I told myself that this would be the last song I did.

The song started. The instructor started dancing.

"Jump and move your arms, jump away and groove again, jump..." The moves ran through my mind as I went along.

"Fist pump and jump, fist pump and turn-" I mumbled along with the moves, but was interrupted when I turned around to see a full view of my back window.

Which was inhabited by Jack Harries himself.

With a camera.

Who was laughing uncontrollably at my reaction.

I was speechless as I looked over to my kitchen clock which read- indeed- 1:05 PM.

I blushed and ran to open the back door. Jack walked in confidently and burst out laughing.

"What the heck man! Why were you at my back window!? You weren't supposed to see that!" I burst out laughing.

"I tried- knocking... You didn't- answer.... I came around..... And found you... Dancing... What were you doing?" Jack tried to say between his laughs.

"Zumba," I laughed.

"You looked so funny," he tried to compose himself.

"I'm a good dancer!" I defended. He bursted into a fit of laughter.

"Okay, so what if I'm not a good dancer," I mumbled. He stopped laughing immidietly and put his hand on my arm.

"I really did think you were great," he said, trying to be sincere. I brushed his hand of my arm.

"Whatever," I chuckled and he did as well.

"Ready to go?" He asked.

"Just let me grab my purse," I said and ran to my room. I wipe the sweat off my brow, splashed on some perfume, patted Zeus on the head and said goodbye, and walked back to Jack.

He had already turned my TV off and was leading me outside.

"So, what are we going to do?" I asked.

"We are going to go... I'm not sure if I want to tell you yet," he grinned as we hopped into his car. It was the same car that he drove when he took The Crew and me to the store.

"Alright, I love surprises," I laughed and buckled my seat belt.

"That's good because I wasn't going to tell you anyways."

"Really?" I feigned sadness and pouted.

"Really," he laughed as we drove down the road.

The radio blasted Kiss You by One Direction and I turned it up with a smile.

Jack rolled both of our windows down with a button and we started screaming the lyrics out at random people walking down the street. Lets just say the old ladies on their porches gave us some mean looks.

"AND LET ME KISS YOU!" We ended simultaneously and burst out laughing.

"You know, Jack, you really shouldn't sing so profusely while driving," I said.

"Really, and why not?" He inquired playfully.

"It's quite dangerous," I said and tried to keep a straight face.

"You don't say?" He gasped in sarcasm.

"That's right. And right now you need to take some responsibility as the man in the relationship who will keep me safe," I fake scolded an batted my eyes at the end.

"Really? Because I'm pretty sure you could beat me down in one second, I bet you can take good care of yourself," he observed.

"And how can you tell?" I laughed.

"Um, by looking at your arms? You have so much muscle, you could arm wrestle me and win, I bet you," he said. What he didn't know is that I was obsessed with my arms for about 3 months and became crazily obsessed with excersizing and toning, not just my arms, but my whole body. I starved myself for weeks, though I'm not proud of it.

"Tiny, but mighty," I said in a masculine voice and kissed my flexed arm. He chuckled and we parked right in front of a skate shop.

"Can you tell me now?" I raised an eyebrow.

"Do you have a penny board?" He asked me.

"I do not," I said.

"As I suspected. We are going to go buy you one then," he smiled.

"Whoa, whoa, whoa Mr. Big Bucks, penny boards are like 1oo pounds!" I exclaimed.

"Yeah..?" He said, unable to see my point.

"That's too expensive for me to just mooch off of you! I'll pay," I folded my arms.

"I wouldn't ask the lady to pay! Did you even bring your wallet?" He asked.

"Well... No, but lets make a deal. I'll buy the penny board if you buy dinner." I negotiated.

"Fine, but how do you suppose you do that without money?" He laughed. I gestured to the rush of people on the street.

"Did I leave my guitar in your car the night of my performance?" I asked him.

"Oh yeah, you did, I forgot to mention it," he said.

"I'm gonna need it," I smiled.

"I have my ukulele in my car too, if you want," he suggested.

"Cool, I'll need that too," I grinned and grabbed my guitar from the back of his car.

Jack grabbed his ukulele and followed me right in front of the skate shop. I opened my guitar case to see my guitar and the bag of chalk that I keep in there for times like this.

"You keep chalk in your guitar case?" He asked.

"Don't you?" I gasped with sarcasm. He laughed as I pulled out some bright blue chalk and wrote on the ground, "Elizabeth Stark is my name, and I really need money for a skateboard," in curvy letters that looked pretty.

I then picked up my guitar and started playing Homeless by Ed Sheeran. People started to notice me once I started playing.

"Could I wake up next to you, when we're hitting double figures, look into your eyes like I'm looking into double mirrors, can I make it any clearer, everything's such a blur, it's not my turn its hers to get hurt, on a late night, coming home from way too many train rides, lace not as red as my face, I'm home at the same time, Highbury Estate's fine, smoking like a dragon with no chase lines, hey," I sang with a smile. Tons of people had stopped to watch and I craved their attention. Lots of them were already digging into their pockets and flipping through bills to give me and I smiled when they dropped it into my open case. Jack sat facing me on a curb smiling cheekily as I continued with the song.

"And I haven't slept for the past week, and two hours ain't enough for me, I feel inspired at a quarter to 3 AM, and I haven't change since our last meet, I'm still getting all my meals for free, think I'm being shunned by my feet again, now it's not a Homeless life for me, it's just I'm home less than I'd like to be, it's not a homeless life for me, it's just I'm home less than I'd like to be, yeah," I sang along with the melody I'm very familiar with.

I finished the song with the same steadiness I did with the beginning and when I ended, some people around me clapped and threw money into the case. I politely thanked all of them.

"Harries, count the money," I smirked. He laughed and collected the money and started counting. I wanted to show him that what I do can really rake in the money.

"42 pounds! For one song!" Jack exclaimed.

"Ha! And you doubted me!" I laughed and grabbed the ukulele from him. I plucked the strings a couple times to get a feel for it.

Jack softened and smiled slightly when I started to play the chords of "Bubbly" by Colbie Caillet.

"I've been awake for a while now

You've got me feelin' like a child now

'Cause every time I see your bubbly face

I get the tingles in a silly place

It starts in my toes

And I crinkle my nose

Wherever it goes I always know

That you make me smile

Please stay for a while now

Just take your time

Wherever you go

The rain is fallin' on my window pane

But we are hidin' in a safer place

Under covers stayin' dry and warm

You give me feelings that I adore

They start in my toes

Make me crinkle my nose

Wherever it goes

I always know

That you make me smile

Please stay for a while now

Just take your time

Wherever you go

What am I gonna say

When you make me feel this way?

I just, mmm," I sang while closing my eyes during the mumble. When I looked over at Jack slightly, he muttered something that sounded a lot like, "wow". I smiled and turned back to the people now crowded around to watch me. There were even some little kids sitting cross legged in front of their parents. Everyone had softened expressions and was watching me intently.

"It starts in my toes

Makes me crinkle my nose

Wherever it goes

I always know

That you make me smile

Please stay for a while now

Just take your time

Wherever you go

I've been asleep for a while now

You tucked me in just like a child now

'Cause every time you hold me in your arms

I'm comfortable enough to feel your warmth

It starts in my soul

And I lose all control

When you kiss my nose

The feelin' shows

'Cause you make me smile

Baby just take your time now

Holdin' me tight

Wherever, wherever, where ever you go

Wherever, wherever, where ever you go," I sang the last notes and smiled as people threw money in my case. Lots of money. I began to see some five dollar bills and even some tens and twenties. I thanked everyone and sat back down by Jack. He nudged me slightly with his shoulder.

"Hey you," he smiled.

"Hey you," I chuckled and playfully nudged him back.

"That was really good," he said.

"Thanks," I grinned.

"No, really. You're amazing," he assured me.

"You're making me blush! Lets count the money," I tried to change the subject and picked up the case.

Including the 42 from before, there was 138 pounds.

"I'm impressed," Jack nodded as I started to put everything away into his car.

"It pays the bills," I shrugged and closed the trunk.

"Is this what you do for money?" He asked.

"Yeah and gigs and stuff. I went to University for English Literature and I worked in a bookstore and I even got a job for an elementary school, filing papers but I just wasn't happy. So I quit my job and started doing stuff like this and that's when I started Youtubing and I've been so much happier since," I explained as we walked into the store.

"That's awesome. I only started Youtubing because I was bored. You're story is much better," he said.

"This store is awesome," I said, looking at all the different penny board combinations.

"Pick your board color, then pick the wheels and bring it to the front desk. There you pick the color of the hinges and stuff and they build it for you," Jack explained. I nodded and stared at all the colors. I instantly gravitated toward the turquoise blue board and the bright like green wheels, so I picked them up and carried them to the front. The man built my board for me with the hinges and things I chose in under a minute. He was obviously very experienced.

I paid for my board and walked out hand in hand with Jack.

"I like your board. What's it's name?" He asked.

"Name?" I questioned.

"You have to name your penny board. It's a must. Mine's called Sophie."

"Mine will be called.... Summer," I decided.

"Now that just reminds me of 500 Days Of Summer," he smiled.

"Oh my gosh, that's one of my all time favorite movies. I didn't think that anyone else liked it as much as I did!"

"That movie is mental. Definitely one we have to watch sometime."

"So there's going to be another time?" I teased.

"Only if you'll keep me," he teased back and it painfully reminded me of the Dark Fanfiction that I read about Harry Styles that I secretly fangirled over all the time.

We walked to the corner of Regents Park which just so happens to be insanely close to my apartment in Camden Town. Jack set down his penny board on the sidewalk and looked at me.

"Have you ever skated before?" He asked.

"Totally," I lied.

"Cool, then you're set. Let's go!" He grinned and pushed off the cement. I was a bit hesitant when I did the same.

It was a pretty flat sidewalk, but that doesn't help considering the fact that I am extremely uncoordinated. I'm freaking out inside while I pull up next to Jack. He obviously thought I'd skated before, because he held his hand out, thinking I am skilled enough to control the freaking skateboard while holding hands with him.

But I'm a good actress, so I smiled and grabbed his hand as we rode down the wide sidewalk that curved around the park.

At one point, he was telling a joke and while I was laughing, I hit a rock and totally wrecked. I just landed on my knees in the grass and he stopped to see if I was okay, trying to keep a straight face.

I ended up just laughing it off, and he did too, though my ankle was searing with pain, I got back on the board and finished our route.

I'm not going to lie, skateboarding may have been extremely scary and a bit hard, it was insanely fun and I was having a blast with Jack.

After we got tired, we sat down on a hill overlooking the park. We curled up on the grass and I laid my head on his shoulder.

We stared out at the kids playing for a while in silence, but it wasn't an awkward silence. It was a completely mind-altering silence, the kind of silence that makes you appreciate the person you're with and their appreciation of a good silence.

I spoke up. "What are you thinking about?" I asked him.

"Everything," he answered.

"Like what?" I smiled.

"I'm thinking about how pretty you look today. I never got to tell you when I first saw you because of the whole... Zumba thing, but I like your new hair. It suits you," he said so sincerely that I made my heart melt.

I looked at him and for the first time today, I actually noticed what he was wearing. He was wearing dark black skinny jeans and a dark grey button up with the top buttons undone in a sexy fashion. He also wore an insanely cool silver watch, a black leather jacket, and grey Toms sneakers. I'd never really noticed before, but he's quite fashionable.

"Thanks. What else?"

"I'm thinking about how I wish I could be musically talented," he chuckled.

"I hear you're pretty good at the Uke," I smiled.

"Okay, I can Uke, but I could never do what you do. It's absolutely amazing how you can express whatever you're feeling into a song or a performance and you can do good whatever song you sing. You're going places, Beth," he said simply.

"You are too," I remind him.

"But that's just it. I don't know where I'm going."

"You're an amazing Youtuber. One of the best around," I said.

"But what's going to happen when I get too old for YouTube? It's got to end sometime."

"What do you love to do right now?" I asked.

"I love to make videos, of course. And I love to travel. But really, all I want to do is make my mark on the world. When I die, I want people to remember me. I want to inspire," he rambled.

"Don't you see, Jack? That's what you're doing right now! When you're done with Youtubing, do exactly what you're doing now, minus the videos," I laughed.

"You think so?"

"Heck yeah," I laughed.

"How about we go do something fun?" he grinned.

"I'm in," I grinned back.

/-----/-----/-----/-----/-----/-----/-----/

We walked into the thrift shop with idiotic grins and we moved straight into the heaps of clothes.

We started to find the craziest clothes, from flapper dresses to Rennesience get ups.

"Oh no way!" Jack exclaimed as he stopped browsing the clothing racks.

"What did you find?" I asked while draping a flapper dress over my arm. I look over to see Jack shrugging on a ginormous fur coat.

I bursted out laughing.

"That is mental! How much is that?"

"7 pounds!" He said.

"You have to buy that. And these," I grabbed a pair of big black sunglasses with a grin, "would complete that outfit."

"What about you?" He asked.

I gestured for him to follow me by the changing rooms and he took a seat outside fitting room number 3 while I walked inside it and changed quickly into the white flapper dress I picked out. The dress looked awesome and was only 6 pounds, so I took the tag off so I could wear it out if needed.

"Jack, close your eyes, I have to accessorize for full effect," I called. He agreed, so I walked out and grabbed some white heels, a pearl necklace, a black boa, some big sunglasses, and a headband to wear on my forehead. Once I added them on, the outfit looked glamorous.

"Okay, open your eyes," I instructed.

Jack's eyes fluttered open and he instantly started to smile.

"Whoa, you look awesome! You definitely have to get those," he said.

"We have to Instagram this," I said and pulled out my phone. We posed, pulling silly faces in front of a big mirror. I posted it to Instagram and threw my phone in my bag.

"What are we going to do with these crazy outfits?" I asked.

"I have an idea..." He smiled mischievously. I knew this was going to be fun, so I grabbed my normal clothes and stuffed them into my large purse. With the tags of everything I was wearing, we bought the outfits and wore them out.

"Wherever we're going, can we skateboard there?" I asked him and he nodded.

We put our penny boards down and started to skate down a small hill. By then I was used to the skating, so I was fine. We went like that for about five minutes, getting some weird stares from people we passed by, and we stopped in front of a nice 5 star resturaunt.

"This is where we're eating? Seems expensive," I observed.

"We won't be paying for it..." He grinned.

"What?"

"Come on," he grabbed my hand and dragged me inside.

"People, people, settle down, we have arrived. No pictures please," Jack said loudly as we walked in with his hands up protectively.

Jack led me to the front desk which inhabited a lady who held a very weird expression of confusion.

"Table for two please," Jack said with authority.

"Do you have a reservation?" She retorted coldly.

"Do you know who we are?" Jack asked in fake amusement.

"I'm not aware."

"We are the Duke and Dutchess of.." Jack said and looked toward me.

"Genovia," I scoffed in my best "rich lady voice".

The lady instantly stood up a little straighter.

"Of course! How foolish of me! Here, let me lead you to your private booth," she said nervously and led us to the deepest corner of the resturaunt.

"Is this table enough for your liking?" She asked.

"It will do," I sighed and sat down with elegance. The lady waved over a waiter who looked about in his early twenties and honestly was quite cute. She whispered into his ear and he was startled by whatever she said. He straightened up and composed his facial expression.

"We would like to present to you only the best, Miss..." He trailed off.

"Elizabeth," I supplied.

"Miss Elizabeth," he looked at me with no intent of talking to Jack. Is he flirting with me when I'm obviously on a date?

"And what is the best thing you have here?"

"The Dungeness Crab stuffed salmon or the roast of lamb with a balsamic reduction. You order with a Ajiaco chicken soup and a Caesar salad and your meal will be a delight," he responded.

"What will you have, dear?" I asked Jack.

"The salmon, with the soup and salad," Jack said, uninterested.

"I'll have the roast of lamb with just the salad."

"And to drink?"

"Water," we said at the same time.

"Alright, we'll get that out for you shortly," he said and walked away.

I looked at Jack in amazement and he started laughing. We both leaned in so we could talk.

"Genovia? From the Princess Diaries?" He whispered.

"It's the first thing that came to mind," I giggled.

"Did you see that guy flirting with you? That Twat! Can't he see that I'm with you?"

"I was thinking the same thing! But don't worry, I wouldn't rather be here with anyone else," I smiled, which reassured him. We both sat back down and right on cue, our food came out. They obviously tried hard to get it out to us that quickly.

Once I tried the food, I was amazed. The whole meal made my mouth water, the roast was divinely moist and flavorful, and the salad was crunchy and perfect. I was very impressed.

When we were done, our waiter came and held out his had to help me up. I took it and once we were out of our seats, he announced,

"Ladies and gentlemen, the Duke an Duchess of Genovia!"

Someone around us scoffed.

"Genovia? You mean that imaginary place from that silly movie?"

Our waiter looked at me and realized we were faking. The mean lady from the front desk yelled, "Security!" And I looked over to Jack helplessly.

"Run!" He yelled. Him and I dashed around the tables, followed by security, and out the front door. We grabbed our skateboards and booked it, hand in hand, to behind n old building.

"If you two come back I'll call the police!" The lady warned from afar.

I looked over to Jack and we both started laughing.

"That was insane!" I said.

"But the food was amazing," Jack reminded me.

"So good! I can't believe we did that!" I laughed.

"And we got it all on film," Jack said and pulled a small camera out of his coat. My mouth gaped open.

"No way."

"Yep. This coat was so big that I had to. This will make for an interesting vlog," he laughed.

I looked down at my watch to see that it was eight o clock.

"Want to go back to my place?" Jack asked. I bit my lip.

"Don't worry, no one will be home. I made sure of it, especially Finn," he assured me. I softened and nodded.

He grabbed my hand and helped me up and back onto my board. We skated back to his car. On the way to his house, we laughed about the events of the day and had a riveting conversation about five star resturaunts, which somehow turned into a conversation about caterpillars.

When we pulled into his driveway, I was in awe of his cute little home, which I recognized from "Finn's Revenge" (all day yesterday I watched his videos so I could be familiar with them) but once I got inside, I saw that it wasn't so little.

The furnishings were minimalistic, mostly light colors, like white and pale browns. I could tell that his family was wealthy, just by stepping into their home.

"Your home is lovely," I said as I stroked my hand along a sleek white table.

"Thanks. Want to have the grand tour and then watch a movie, or something like that?" He asked eagerly.

"Yeah, sure," I smiled.

He took me around his home showing me his room-which I already recognized from his videos- his sister's room, the living room, etc. The rest of his home was just as nice as the front of the house.

"So yeah, that's the grand tour. Finn and I moved back in until we can find a good apartment, but for now, this is our home," Jack said warmly, comfortable in a familiar atmosphere.

"I love it. What kind of movies do you have?" I grinned. He showed me his movie closet and we started browsing the films we could watch.

"500 Days of Summer..." I smiled as I saw the box.

"Wanna watch it?" He grinned.

"Yeah! Pop it in!" I said and flopped onto his couch.

I can tell you now, I tried so hard to focus on that movie, but I can conclude that focusing on anything is extremely hard when you're with Jack Harries.

After the movie ended, we talked about the film, and Jack asked me about what it was like back home, and I steered the conversation away from my home and school life, but instead talked about the beauty of Cheshire and my favorite places to go. It was an awesome conversation and I couldn't be any happier with the way this date turned out.

Jack later drove me home and walked me up to my door.

"I had the best time today," I said sincerely.

"I did too. You did a pretty good job at acting, Duchess Elizabeth," he smiled and bowed, for extra measure. I chuckled.

"As did you, Duke Jackson," I bowed.

The next moment was a tough one. I could tell he wanted to kiss me, but he resisted, gave me a hug, and said goodnight, like a gentleman.

Once I got inside, I closed the door and put my back to it, sliding to the ground and leaning next to it, replaying the events of today. Zeus curiously sat down by me.

"Hey buddy. Were you a good boy?" I patted his head. He barked happily in response, and I smiled.

Jackson Frayn Harries was the only thing on my mind.
