Stronger (Sequel to I Wish)

I reccomend you read 'I Wish' before this one.

It has been one and a half years since Kirsty last saw the members of One Direction. They haven't contacted each other at all over this period so Kirsty has not told them that she is pregnant.
Her pregnancy was unwanted and unexpected and the father is her rapist ex-boyfriend Dylan, who again did it to her 7 months after she had moved away from the boys and out of her Dad's house.
Kirsty, now 18, is now nearing her due date. When she is putting up her decorations in time for Christmas, an early, unexpected present arrives at her door.

27. Back in hell

Kirsty's POV

The police are at the house when we arrive and by the looks of it, they had been there for a while.
"Hello officers," I say quietly.
"Good afternoon, Miss Evans," Detective Johnson greets me.
"Is there any news on Lola?" I ask, getting my hopes up.
"We tracked Dylan's last known location, we have about ten police officers surrounding the house. After all, Dylan is a dangerous man," Johnson kept a straight face while I was breaking into a smile, and crying at the same time.
"Thank you, thank you so much!" I exclaim. "Is it possible for me to go with you to Dylan's last known location?"
"Of course, but you must be quiet. We will only be going to receive Lola," he tells me and I nod.
We went to the car and I look to see if Louis was coming with me, but he is too busy arguing with Harry. I turn back to the cruiser and slide into the front seat, while the Detective's assistant sits in the back. We drive for about fifteen minutes, and there was an awkward silence because Johnson was concentrating on the road.
We arrive before an old, abandoned house surrounded by about five police cars flashing their bright red and blue lights. I am told by Detective Johnson to stay in the car with the other police officer, who I now know as Constable Smith. I keep on staring at the doorway of the house, awaiting the appearance of a police officer with Lola.
After half an hour of waiting, police emerged with an angry Dylan in handcuffs. The police were struggling to constrain him, so he was being treated as if he was a wild animal. He glanced my way and glared at me, before he was pushed into the cruiser. Lola has not yet come out from the house so I decide to get out of the car and run in. I see torch lights and follow them into a dim lighted room with Lola shaking vigorously in the corner, refusing to move.
"Oh my baby girl!" I exclaim and rush over to her. "It's okay, mummy's got you."
I rock her back and forth in my arms and look at the officers.
"An ambulance is on the way, they will be a few minutes," one of them tells me and I look at Lola.
"What has he done to you?" I mumble while kissing her temple.
"He hit me, and kicked me and I haven't had my food," she cries into my shoulder and I hold her close.
"He starved you? He better be banged up for life for this," I say angrily to the officers before paramedics burst into the room.
I hand her over and they carry her out to the ambulance quickly. I run after them and hop in the back before they close the door. We drive at a fast speed down the road, arriving at the hospital within two minutes.
We are rushed out, down the ramp and carried on to the ward. Lola is placed on a bed and she looks up at me.
"Mummy, don't leave me," she whispers and my eyes open wider.
"I would never dream of leaving you, Lola. I love you," I kiss her head gently.
"I love you too mummy," she whispers.
Just then, Louis runs to us and goes round to the other side of the bed.
"Oh my god Lola, come here baby!" Louis kisses her head multiple times.
"I missed you daddy," a few tears roll down her face.
Louis looks at me. "What do he do to her?"
"She said that he starved her, but she hasn't said anything else," I breathe in deeply. "Lola, what else did he do?"
"He told me not to tell or he would kill me," she cried.
"Come on, I'm your mum. You tell me everything," I ask, holding her hand.
"He cut all up my arm," she says, whimpering.
I raise her arms and roll her sleeves up gently, revealing two long scabs from her wrist to just over the elbow. Louis looks at it and has a look of pure anger and hatred on his face.
"Where are the police?" He says and storms off towards the nurses' station.
A police officer comes running over and glances at the scars. He jots se notes down in his book and jogs back over to his colleagues. Just then, a nurse comes running over with a large bandage and starts dressing Lola's wound.
"We will have to run a few tests on her to see if there is any internal damage to any of her vital organs," one of the doctors says to me and turns to Lola. "Could you roll your top up for me please Lola, I need to have a look at your tummy."
Lola did as she was asked and the doctor pressed on her tummy. She winced in pain as the doctor pressed on the left side of her abdomen.
"W-why is she wincing?" I ask, worried.
"We can't be sure at the moment, we will have to run some more tests to find out what is the matter," the doctor told me.
"Please make her better, I can't lose her!" I yell as they push her bed out of its place and roll it into another room.
Lola cries my name as she goes into the room and I feel like I've abandoned her, even though I'm not allowed to go into the room.
It has been half an hour since Lola was wheeled in for tests and she isn't back yet. I decide to go over to the nurses station when a doctor comes running over to me.
"Where is she?" I yell.
"She is being prepped for theatre. We have discovered an internal bleed to the left side of her abdomen. Before we continue, we need your permission to perform emergency surgery," the doctor says and it's hard to take it all in.
"Just do whatever to make her better. Please, I can't lose another daughter," I whimper and run back over to Lola's empty bed space.
I throw myself onto Louis and cry into his shoulder. "I don't know how I can deal with this. I have already lost one of my children and now another is in hospital because she has an internal bleed."
"It will be okay baby, it'll be okay," Louis tells me as he rocked me back and forth.
Somehow, my mind was telling me the complete opposite to what Louis was telling me.
