teenage dirtbag

You know what's the worst part of falling for someone you know isn't right for you? It's that you do anyway in the hope that they will prove you wrong and turn out different.

1. new start, new me.

Leigh's POV:

'Yo, I'll tell you what I want, what I really, really want
So tell me what you want, what you really, really want
I'll tell you what I want, what I really, really want
So tell me what you want, what you really, really want
I wanna, (ha) I wanna, (ha) I wanna, (ha) I wanna, (ha)
I wanna really, really, really wanna zigazig ah'

I quickly hit my alarm button on my phone, great first day at Waterloo Road today. I decided today I would get up a bit earlier and put a bit more effort into my appearance then usual. I wanted to look casual but still nice at the same time, I hopped in the shower and washed my hair, I had afro type curls but they went almost to my waist, I decided to leave it natural and down, it would be dry within half an hour, that's the good part about curly hair. I put on some light denim jeans and a coral pink shirt tucked in, with my black vans and leather jacket. I decided to go for the natural look with make up, I had foundation, a little bit of bronzer, mascara and a cute light pink lipstick. I looked in the mirror and decided I actually quite liked the girl looking back at me. I've never felt this way before though, I've always been quite self conscious, hiding myself away, wearing baggy clothes and putting no effort into what I look like at all. But that's all going to change because today I have to make a good impression, not like at my old school. But this isn't my old school this is a school on the other side of the country and I'm determined to have a good last year and a half in Bradford.

I walked downstairs to find dad in the kitchen "hey sweetie" he said not looking up from his newspaper "looking forward to today?" To be 100% honest I was dreading it. It wasn't school I was worried about, I'd always done well in school. It was making friends that was scaring me. Come on I'm 16 I should know but the older you get the harder it is right? "Yeah I'm looking forward to it" I lied. "good, good" he said right as my toast popped out of the toaster, I quickly buttered and ate it and ran upstairs to get my bag. I came down again and dad got his keys and we got in the car. When we arrived at school there were literally teenagers EVERYWHERE! I thanked dad and got out of the car. I decided to go straight to the main office and ask about my timetable. The lady at the office was explaining to me where to go when a girl around my age walked past "Olivia, please will you show this new girl where room 27 is?" "sure miss" Olivia responded. I walked towards her and we set off down the corridor "so where are you from?" she asked "Manchester, I moved a few weeks ago" I said "ah right, well anyway here are this is my number" she said as she was writing it onto a piece of paper "we aren't allowed our phones on in lessons but at the beginning of lunch text me and I'll come and meet you, well that's if you don't have other plans" she said handing the paper to me. "no that would be great thank you" *bring bring bring* the bell went. "well good luck today Leigh" Olivia said, I smiled back at her and said thanks, she left to go to her lesson.

The day went surprisingly quick, I had art then english then a short break and then ict and maths. At the start of lunch I called Olivia and she came and got me from the maths block. "do you have a lunch with you or are you buying one?" she asked"well I'd like to but one" I said "great come on the ques only small,by the way the dinner here is crap" she said laughing, I laughed too until I saw a boy walk into the hall. "who's he?" I asked her, she turned around to look behind her "oh, th-that's Zayn, Zayn Malik" we watched as he went to sit on a table with his friends, I looked at her questioningly "the blonde is Niall Horan, the curly haired is Harry Styles, the gay looking one is Louis Tomlinson and the one with shorter hair is Liam Payne." "so are they like the 'popular' boys at this school then?" I asked her, "yeah you could say that, erm Leigh I know they are good looking and everything but trust me they aren't good for you, they'll mess you around, all they are interested in is a night with you and then they will never speak to you again" she said "oh" was all I could manage to say. We got our food and went and sat on a table. We chatted for about half an hour and then the bell went again for last lesson, science. My best lesson, I hadn't done that well in the lessons I had today but I liked science, nothing could distract me in this. The other pupils started to make their way in, a few girls smiled at me and said hi so I spoke to them but then the teacher called me. "Leigh I'm sorry but you are going to have to sit at the back" Sir said. The room grew into a loud chatter of whispers as I went to sit down, but I wasn't bothered, I was the new girl of course. The lesson was almost halfway through when the door swung open, everyone looked up but I wasn't bothered, "where exactly have YOU been Mr. Malik?" the teacher asked, "here there and everywhere" the boy answered. "just sit down, I'll deal with you at the end" I only looked up when the chair beside me was pulled back, I slowly looked up to see who was sat next to me. Obviously it would be the boy I've been told to stay away from for my own safety. It was Zayn Malik.
