10. Chapter 10

Marie had passed with ease on her first attempt, so had Tazna and Alexandre.

Fiona was just jumping.

She made it over easily enough.

It was me.

I knew what I had to do.

I started sprinting for all I was worth.

I only had ears for the people cheering me on.

It was strange all the cheering were murmurs apart from one familiar voice from behind me.

I knew who it was.


I suddenly had a massive boost of energy as I took off.

I was on my back legs flailing around in the air.

The bar was still up.

I gasped.

I smiled happily from ear to ear.

Thats when I went over to Fiona.

'Why did you do that for me?'

'Everyone needs someone to cheer for them don't  they? And everyone needs friends!'

After that Fiona and I went round together.

We didn't do Pole vault again till the next day.

I was going to try harder than I'd ever tried  before remembering to cheer for my new English friend!
