Chapter 9

"Liam! We're going clubbing. You wanna come?" Louis asked as soon as he burst through the door.

"Yeah sure." I nodded getting up.

"Well, that's too b- wait, what?" Louis had a look of confusion on his face.

"I said, yeah sure." I answered slowly.

"Oh. I thought you were going to say no. But anyway, everyone's going so hurry up and go get dressed!" Louis clapped excitedly. I rolled my eyes and walked to my room to get dressed.

Last week, after the talk with Ruby, I felt so refreshed. I even cleaned the whole apartment myself, with no help. Except for Jake since he had to fix the walls. Again. But anyway, Ruby made me feel so much better afterwards. It was like a breath of fresh air.

The 100 or so bottles are still in fridge but I've either drank most of them or I've given it to Niall. I've been sleeping so much more better now. Ali and Harry have been coming over a lot and so have Jenna and Jake. I keep catching them sending me looks of pride whenever they see me laugh. It gets annoying sometimes but it makes me feel good for some reason.

I looked over my attire in the mirror. I was wearing a black t-shirt, black jeans and white converses. It was a friday night and I was actually excited to go out tonight.

I walked out the door and up to Louis' apartment. When I opened the door I found Eleanor, Georgia and Niall sitting on the floor with a deck of cards in their hands.

"Liam!" Georgia, in a black sleeveless dress with a lion print and gold sparkly heels, screamed as she stood up off the floor. She bounded over to me and gave me the biggest hug. "I've missed you!"

"Georgia, have you been drinking?" I asked jokingly.

"Actually she has. She drank a cup of rum and coke before coming over. Fives?" Niall, who wore a white shirt, a brown leather jacket, black jeans and white supra, said unmoving while observing his cards.

"Go fish." Eleanor, who wore a navy blue sheer blouse, denim shorts that looked like it was breaking apart but I guess that's a style and black heels, answered. "Come on, Liam. Play go fish with us!"

"Aren't you guys a little too old to be playing card games?" I teased as I sat on the floor with them and grabbed four cards from the deck.

"Never too old. Besides it's funny watching Georgia trying to figure out the difference between 3 and 5." Niall told me.

"Sevens?" Eleanor asked. I handed her my seven.

"Where is everyone?" I looked around the empty room.

"Louis' in the shower, Ali and Harry are meeting us there and Jake and Jenna are probably getting it on somewhere and Zayn is-" she was cut off.

"-right here." I turned to find Zayn clad in a white singlet top with a denim jacket, white skinny jeans and black converses.

"Zayn!" Georgia squealed and gave him a tight hug too.

"I love drunk Georgia!" Zayn grinned.

"I'm not drunk! But Zayn you have nice tattoos." She giggled. "Zap! It's like watching comics on your arm." She giggled again. "Zap!"

"Niall, don't let her drink anymore." Eleanor said sternly.

Niall just shrugged. "She's not that lightweight. She can have a shot or two more then that's when I draw the line."

Georgia giggled again. "Niaaaaall." She singsonged.

"Yes, baby?" Niall asked.

"I like your hair. You have niiiiiice hair. And this is a veeeeery nice tank top. I looove your tank top." She grinned as she slid her hand up an down Niall's chest.

Niall blushed and took her hand off her chest. "I'm giving you water, Georgia and you're going to sober up."

Georgia pouted then chirped, "Okay!"

I chuckled. Drunk Georgia is so interesting. She's usually a little shy.

The door opened again and in came a giggling Jenna and Jake. Jake's arm was wrapped around Jenna's shoulders and he was wearing a blue button down shirt with the sleeves at his elbow, black jeans and black ben shermans. Jenna was wearing a gold skirt, a white singlet top with a gold cross and white pumps.

"Hey guys!" Jenna grinned.

"Hey." Niall nodded.

"Liam!" She squealed and gave me a hug. "I'm so glad you're coming."

I just chuckled. "I was tired of seeing the same four walls."

Louis finally walked out, fixing his hair. He was wearing a black shirt with a blue blazer, black pants and shoes. "I'm ready! Let's go."

We all walked out of the apartment building and to the closest club called 'Cherry'. The bouncer let us through since we were VIP.

"Guys!" Harry greeted us once we walked in.

"Hey!" We all smiled and Harry directed us to a booth that Ali was already sitting in.

"Hey, guys!" Ali grinned.

"Every man for themselves. Unless you have a girlfriend, then it's man and girl." Zayn declared.

The boys and I had a rule whenever we went to a bar or a club. Someone had to declare who's buying and the first one to say it had to be followed. So if I said first round's on me means that every round is in me. But since Zayn said something first we had to follow it through.

Louis, Niall, Harry and Jake all groaned and the girls grinned. I patted Zayn on the back before getting up to buy a drink.

"Gin and tonic." I yelled to the bartender. She nodded her head and got to it.

"Liam!" I heard my name being called. I turned to see Ruby with a grin on her face.

She wore a white one shoulder dress with a flowing sleeve and silver stripes lining the top. The white dress accentuated her beautiful natural tan. Her red hair was curled into loose curls. She wore white open toed pumps that showed her sparkly silver nail polish. She had white smoky eyes the brought out her shining brown eyes. Her lips were rosy pink and her cheeks were red from the heat of the club.

“Hey!” I smiled and gave her a hug.

“How are you?” She asked.

“I’m great, yourself?” I answered.

“Great!” She said.

“You want me to buy you a drink?” I gestured towards the bartender who handed me my drink.

“Sure.” She nodded. “I’ll have a Lost Cherry.”

“One Lost Cherry.” I told the bartender and she nodded.

“What brings you here?” I asked her.

She shrugged. I was here for Ryder this morning then I went apartment hunting.” Ruby said as she grabbed her drink off the table. We walked over to a booth that was more quieter than the middle of the dance floor.

“Really? Where abouts?” I asked, turning to face her.

“I found one a few blocks from here. It was a really nice place. I could either rent it or buy it.” She answered.

“How many bedrooms?” I asked, sipping my drink.

“Three.” She answered.

“How much is it?” I asked. When she told me the prices for both buying and renting I realised how cheap it actually was.

“Are you going to take it?” I felt so excited on the inside for some reason.

“Most likely.” She nodded. I danced on the inside. My heart leaped for joy at her words and I grinned at her.

Then we started to talk about nothing in particular. We’d start laughing at some people on the dance floor who were dancing really weirdly. This one guy was buy himself and he was literally popping and locking like there was no tomorrow. We were both laughing in fits.

The hours passed by and before I knew it, it was already 2 in the morning and Ali and Harry came up to us.

“Hey, man.” Harry nodded and Ali smiled at the both of us.

“Oh hey. Ruby this is Ali and Harry. Ali and Harry, this is Ruby.” I pointed to each of them. Ruby raised an eyebrow at me as if to ask if that was the Ali I was talking about last week. I gave her subtle nod and her features set into a polite smile.

“Hello.” She greeted in her melodious voice.

“Hi, Ruby.” They both said simultaneously.

“We were just coming to say that we were leaving.” Harry told me and I nodded.

“Sure, I’ll see you later.” I told them and they waved goodbye.

“Is it just them or are there more of you?” Ruby asked me.

“There are more of us.” Then I pointed out the rest of them to her. She asked about all of them and what they’re like. She seemed like she was really interested. She didn’t look like she was fishing for information or anything. I felt so guilty for thinking like that about her. I mean, she obviously wouldn’t do that. She cared too much about everything. But honestly, could you blame me?

The night finally came to a close and we were walking out of the club. I was walking her back to her friend’s place which was only a few blocks away from my apartment. Just as she was about to walk in, I stopped her.

I didn’t know why I stopped her. I had every intention of leaving but for some reason I yelled out wait.

But when she turned around, i knew exactly why I stopped her from going in. She looked at me with a questioning expression and I did what I knew I’ve always wanted to do.

“Do you want to go out sometime?” I asked her but it came out a little rushed.

“What?” She asked, a little confused. “Like a date?”

I scratched the back of neck in a nervous way. Am I about to get rejected? “Yeah. Like a date.” I answered.

Her lips pulled up into  a wide smile. “I’d love to.”

I grinned “Great!” My voice came out higher than before. I quickly cleared my throat and deepened my voice. “I mean, great.”

She laughed. “You did the same thing when you asked me for coffee.”

I chuckled. “I did. I guess it’s just how I am.” I shrugged. Oh, god. That wa really lame. i inwardly facepalmed myself.

“Good night, Liam.” She smiled softly before coming back up to me and kissing me on the cheek.

“Night, Ruby.” I grinned. I watched her go inside and take her shoes off before walking up the stairs barefooted. I couldn’t stop smiling to myself as I walked back to my apartment.

I’ve actually never been so excited and happy and nervous in my whole entire life.
