And The Flashbacks Start

Prologue

            I’m Audrey Davis, the girl who wants to have a normal teenage life.  I live with my father in North Carolina and I have been here for over 12 years now, since I was 4 years old.  I have so many memories left and right every time I take a step somewhere.  From my first time on the rope swing when I was 5 years old, to my very first surfing lesson given to me by my mother who passed away a month later from breast cancer.  She was a great lady and she has always been the reason I surf every-day because I remember the look on her face every time I succeeded surfing a massive wave.  I just wish I can see that smile of being proud one more time on someone’s face.  I haven’t seen that look on someone’s face since Mom died.  That’s the type of smile I last saw before she closed her eyes into the slumber that lasts forever.

            My father, Rick Davis, is a very strict man.  He wants every single thing, big or small to be in order and the way he wants it.  He doesn’t have humor anymore since Mom died and he never smiles.  It’s as if everything he had pride and joy in was Mom and that it departed him also.  He’s also never home.  He’s “too busy to be around the house and do nothing”.  So that leaves me here…with nothing.  He also set out very specific ground rules for me too.  It goes a little like this:

 No going out after 8:00 p.m. SHARP.  No parties, no matter what for.  No alcohol. Not even the slightest sip.  No going out with any guy whatsoever.

There are a ton more, but it would be better if I didn’t name them all or else the whole story will be about my terrifying and boring ground rules (laugh all you want until you get the same rules, my dear reader!).

            Well, I’ve described a little about my life and I guess it’s time to say why I am here telling you about my life.  I am telling this story basically because I want to share the marvelous story on how I met my very own Romeo.  His name is Nicholas Cunning.  I am describing it in every possible way because, who knows, the same thing might happen to you! (wink wink.)  Well, this is where the flashbacks start.
