(Haven't edited yet, there may be a few mistakes)
I came up with the idea for Wildfire a while ago but i was busy at the time and i never got around to it, but now i've finally started so here it goes. Wildfire is about a boy named Castir who was abandoned by his mother when he was little, she had given him into the care of a travelling circus of thieves, he quickly learns the skills of an acrobat and starts being sent on more dangerous missions, but the death of a loved one followed by the biggest heist of his life could ruin his.

14. Chapter 13 Home At Last, But Not For Long

'TaMor, Finally.' Naran exhaled, as they stood atop a hill overlooking the city, the party had grown substantially in size since they first set out with only four, now a sizeable now eight. Aine was still asleep floating invisibly behind Sage, they would awaken her when they got back to Lavender.

Sage and Thyme galloped down the hill on their horses, eager to get home. The guards at the gate smiled at them as they walked through, one of them eyeing the weapons they carried.

Wela bared her teeth at the guards at the guard, and they both stepped back in shock. She chuckled and rode on through the gate.

The group rode their horses through the streets, winding their way to Lavenders house.

Their eyes widened at the site before them, they stood at the gate, it was hanging off one hinge and swung uselessly in the breeze. That wasn't the most upsetting part. The stone house, that once stood atop that hill, had burnt to the ground.

Very little of the house stood, but the parts that were still up were charred black.

Rosemary, Sage and Thyme sprinted up the hill. Snuffy running ahead to the house.

Castir, Emelra, Oak, Naran, Wela and Glacieus ran after them a few seconds later.

'NO! NO, NO, NO!' Rosemary screamed, Thyme was sobbing next to the half burnt kitten beds, Sage cried and ran around, seeming to be looking for something.

'Rosemary, I'm sorry.' Oak whispered, patting her on the back. Wela hugged her and Glacieus knelt down next to Thyme, holding her shoulders and whispering to her.

Rosemary collapsed to the ground, crying. Sage still rushed around the house, collecting items that had survived the blaze, and still seemed to be looking for something.

'Thyme...It's ok.' Emelra whispered pulling her into a tight embrace. Naran sat on the ground, his arms wrapped around his legs, holding them to his chest. Oak and Wela were still comforting Wela, Glacieus walked around the house, inspecting every inch.

'See how, all of this side is practically destroyed and the opposite side is burnt but there are some parts still standing.' Glacieus began. 'Did this house have a fire place?'

'Yes, over there.' Thyme answered, gesturing toward a pile of clay bricks, well away from where Glacieus stood.

'Taking that into account, I would assume that the fire was started over here.' Glacieus observed.

'Are you saying the fire was set on purpose?' Rosemary asked, pausing from her sobbing.

'I'm saying it's a high possibility. If it had of been an accident, Lavender would've gotten out in time.' Glacieus replied.

'We don't know she's dead yet, accident or not she could have escaped.' Sage called out, she was going through a partially burnt drawer.

'Fair point, I say we head to Bura. We can talk to the master once we get there, decide our next move.' Glacieus replied.

'FOUND IT!' Sage yelled out.

'What did you find?' Castir asked rushing over to her, Naran and Wela jogged over as well.

'Lavender's book of spells. We might need it.' Sage answered, she blew the dust off the cover, surprisingly the fire hadn't claimed it. She opened it carefully and slowly flicked through the pages.

'Does that book have spells like the ones I use to teleport?' Castir asked.

'Yes, which means we won't have to walk to Bura, we can Door Jump.' Sage explained.

'Is that what it's called?' Castir asked, Sage nodded in return and directed her attention too Wela.

'You and Oak go down to the market and sell the horses, any price will do. I'll start looking for the correct words. Everybody else see if you can salvage anything else.' Sage ordered, and everybody rushed to work. Wela and Oak running with the horses to the market.

About an hour later everybody was ready to go, the horses had sold for a terrible price, but it didn't matter at the moment, they were focusing on getting the portal location correct.

'You need to speak the words very clearly, try not slur them or say them to fast or we may end up in the middle of the endless ocean.' Sage instructed, Castir nodded and turned towards the door they were using, it was the door of closed blacksmith, the owners having left half an hour ago, Castir had picked the lock and slipped inside with the rest of the group.

'Phulando Portalis Doordom Ba Calorbu.' Castir whispered as he pushed the brass key into the wooden door, it slipped through the wood which rippled like water.

Rosemary was first through, followed by Wela, Naran, Sage, Emelra, Oak, Glacieus, Thyme and finally Castir walked through the door, which solidified behind him.
