Before I Die

After losing both of her parents and walking straight into a life of bullying, Allison one day collapses on the sidewalk in the cold winter snow.
When she wakes up at the hospital, she wakes up to a smiling face. But what she didn't know was that the unknown boy was the famous Justin Bieber.
She'd promised herself to never trust anyone but Samantha (her best friend) but will Justin change everything? And what happens when she finds out the truth and gets dragged straight into the spotlight?

37. To be or not to be alive

Justin's POV

I ran towards her while tearing up. Her body laid completely still on the cold street of France. The only thing I could do at this very moment was to pray that she'd make it out alive. The police were right behind me and the paramedics had been contacted and were on their way.

When I got to her I could clearly see her pale skin pouring out crimson and she was nearly unrecognizable. But I knew it was her. It had to be her.

When the ambulance arrived the paramedics immediately lifted and placed her on the stretcher. For the third time, I once again rode to the nearest hospital with her. First time she might be laying dead right in front of my eyes. The paramedics gently placed an oxygen mask on her face and was now about to check if her pulse was still intact.

No pulse.

Her eyes were closed, framed by her long lashes. There was no natural blush on her cheeks to give some colour to her face and her lips were so dry they cracked up and started to bleed. While the staff did their best to patch her up I had to settle with the fact that her chances at survival had all the odds against them.

At the point we reached the hospital I felt as dead as Allison looked. I couldn't speak. I couldn't cry. I felt completely and utterly hollow inside and no sentence my mouth could create would make anything even a little better. I didn't even bother trying to hear what the people around me were saying nor did I bother to try to reach beyond the 'Employees only' doors. The only reasonable thing to do was to sit down and just wait, only this time, wait with no hope.

Scooter's POV

He was devastated.

Allison was missing for three weeks and no way would we think that she'd be returned back to us lifeless.

It was no secret that Justin was blaming himself for this. The feeling of guilt was written all over his face and I won't even try to understand how much pain he's suffering through at this very moment.

Alfredo flew in from the U.S to see how the team was doing due to the shock this created all over the world. Everything has been such a kick in the groin and I bet Fredo too, feels guilty to all of this.

He's on his way to the hospital; last time I spoke to him which was only three days ago, he unfortunately still had feelings for Allison. I highly consider putting them rooms apart so they won't go full out on each other since this tragedy was no one's fault but the perpetrators.

Justin's POV

The hours went by slower than ever before and I couldn't help but think back to the first time I found her in the cold snow of New York.

"Hey Scoot, what's that? Pull over!"

Someone was laying in the snow next the road leading to Brooklyn. "Is she dead?" I asked after turning the unconscious girl around. "I don't think so" Scooter replied. "She has a pulse."

"I'll call 911, just in case it's bad. She looks abused, maybe exposed to family violence so I'd like to wait until she regains her consciousness." Credits to me for sounding so clever.

"Good idea, except for the fact that you're world known and what if she freaks out or doesn't even like you?" Scooter took the phone out of my hand.

"I'll take that risk." I argued and took the phone back, dialing the digits of 911.

"Sir?" A young woman, maybe in her thirties was looking at me while holding one of those all-too-known patientboards and a well-known frown. "Are you an acquainted of Allison's?"

"Yes ma'am, I am indeed." My voice came out weak, cracking after everything I've held back the last six hours of sitting on this chair. "Her boyfriend in fact."

"You may follow me if you'd like to see her." She continued, while giving me a concerning look.

I looked over at Scooter, Ryan and the rest of the team; hinting them that I'd love to go alone in case this was a matter of goodbyes.

Without saying a word, I rose up and gestured the short, curly-haired lady to lead the way. Neither of us said a word while walking through the white halls of the building. My heart was pumping faster than ever before and I felt the sweat forcing its way through my pores.

"Here you go, sir; room 103. You can stay as long as you'd like, but we'll pop by every ten minutes to make sure everything's fine." Aceline, accordning to her name-tag, gave me a quick smile before walking away.

Nothing in this entire universe could describe my nervosity while opening the door to that room. I've waited to see her all night, but I'm still not enlightened about her condition and the not-knowing is making me not want to know.

At last, I got my shit together and pushed open the door. At the very same moment, my eyes landed on the girl laying in those white sheets. It was Allison. Barely alive according to the EKG which sent bleeps very seldom. But she was breathing; she was alive and if everything checks out, she's going to be just fine.
