12. First Time Out

Justin’s POV

Actually it was kind of good that Allison went upstairs. Now I could talk to Scooter about everything that’d been on my mind the last couple of days.

“What’s up kid, I can see that something’s bothering you.” Scooter then took some French fries and dipped them in ketchup.

“It’s Allison… I… I really think I have strong feelings for her. And I try to give her hints, but she doesn’t seem to get them. She still thinks that she’s worthless, a disgrace and stuff.” I looked at him while he listened to every word that came out of my mouth.

“How are you going to prove her wrong?” Now he drank some soda before continuing his eating process. I looked down for a while.

“That’s exactly why I need your help right now, because I have this great plan, but I don’t want any flashing lights that can lead to a headline in the papers.” After that, I told Scooter my plan and he understood the whole point.

“I can make it happen.” He smiled at me. “But are you going to do this before or after the meeting?”

“I have to do it before; otherwise it’s kinda too late with the whole truth and stuff you know.” I was still wondering how I should do it and what I should say, so I needed to plan this as exact as possible.

“I’ll go get some paper, to show you what needs to be bought and how it’s going to be arranged.” Scooter nodded before I ran up to my room to get some paper. When I passed Allison’s room, I could see that she was trying on a beautiful light red dress, with some lace. It was strapless and ended before her knees. After a moment I was popped back to reality when I remembered what I came to get – paper. So we could plan Allison’s surprise.

When I finally arrived back downstairs, Scooter already found some pens and we started drawing, writing and planning the whole thing. It’s going to be magical – something she’ll never forget.

After an hour we’d already written and drawn out four paperpieces and that was pretty much the whole plan. I couldn’t wait until she got to see it – to experience it. Even if she decides not to stay with me, she’ll never forget that.

Allison’s POV

Justin and Scooter had been downstairs for ages now and when I went downstairs they looked focused. I took my chance and grabbed the Star Or No Star magazine from the table and ran back upstairs. It was obvious that they hadn’t seen me because they didn’t even look over their shoulders.

Immediately I turned to page two, where there was cut off pieces from what the magazine contains. So I went further and some pages were cut out – this started to freak me out. Did it say something I shouldn’t know? Justin was obviously hiding something for me – articles don’t cut themselves out. I had to think about this, but decided not to let it bother me too much. Maybe I was just overthinking stuff. I continued the fitting of the clothes and luckily they all fitted. Never in a million years, did I think that I actually could look this good. Now all I need is makeup to make my face look a little bit better. Maybe I could sneak out? Scooter said that the grocery store is pretty close and they usually do sell makeup in grocery stores. Yep, I decided to sneak out – luckily I still have my credit card so I will be able to buy mascara, an eyebrow pen and some powder. I took on my thick jacket and my boots before heading out in the cold air. It would take maximum thirty minutes before I was back in the house so they would never notice a thing.

It was so lovely to walk outside again – I’ve spent a long time indoors and now it felt so refreshing. I smiled for myself while walking against the glowing lights for the store. I couldn’t remember the last time I’d felt so good, so careless. I’ve missed that feeling – a lot.

The doors opened and I walked straight to the shelves with makeup. Quickly I chose mascara, powder and an eyebrow pen so that I could get out of here as soon as possible. I started walking towards the register but then I noticed the last thing in the world that I would like to see right now – Alexandra and her friends. Damn it. They were laughing and having fun; no way could I pass that without being noticed. Right then I could feel a tap on my shoulder. I jumped a bit because I didn’t expect that. When I turned around I was met by a warm and kind face and it felt like I could cry of joy. Samantha was standing there right behind me, with her lovely smile.

“Hii there Alli – I’ve missed you so much!” She didn’t say it too loud because she also knew who was standing ahead. Sam gave me a long hug before interviewing me. “How are you?”

“I would be better if I knew that I’d get out of here alive.” I looked down for a second. “And you?” A smile was forced to my face while meeting her warm eyes.

“I’m going to make sure that you’ll get out of here alive.” She smiled at me. “Come on, let’s go.” Sam grabbed my wrist and carefully pulled me towards the check out. I was hiding my face hoping that they wouldn’t see me. And luckily they didn’t. I paid for my makeup and was now standing outside the store.

“That was so close.” I looked over my shoulder and saw how they still were laughing. “Thanks for going with me.” I smiled at her and she returned the smile.

“Of course; anytime hunny.” There was a long pause when we just stood there. Samantha broke the silence before it became awkward.

“I would… Uhm… I would love to meet this Justin.” She looked begging at me and I felt so bad that I couldn’t take her with me.

“I’m sorry, but he’s sick… I can send you a picture though; I don’t think he’ll mind.” I could see how her face just brightened up because of the excitement.

“I’ll be waiting.” She gave me a little winked before we hugged each other and went down different roads. I actually ran, because I’d spent too much time already. I made it upstairs before I could hear them go out from the living room. Scooter was going home now, so I decided to go downstairs and say my goodbyes.

“Bye scootie and thank you so much for the food.” I smiled at him before giving Scooter a hug.

“You’re welcome. Call or text me anytime you want if you need something, okay?” He smiled back at us before putting on his shoes.

“Actually, would you mind bringing Allison a phone? An iPhone 5 would be perfect.” Scooter looked at Justin and they exchanged looks.

“Of course, what color do you want?” Now his face was looking at me.

“I would like a white one, if it’s okay…” I hesitated a little, still not understanding that they’re actually buying me an iPhone – it was unreal.

“Of course, I’ll drop by tomorrow. Early too, so don’t sleep too long.” Scooter winked at me and my look was automatically drawn back to the ground. “Bye and goodnight.” Then Scooter disappeared out the door.

“What do you want to do now?” Justin smirked at me, but I was honestly too tired to do anything.

“Go to sleep…” My voice cracked and I smiled a little at him. He pouted and crossed his arms. “Stop that.” I carefully hit his arm and laughed. “Soon I feel terrible about going to sleep.” Justin sighed, lifted me up and carried me bridal style up to my bedroom and then threw me on the bed.

“Well goodnight princess.” He smiled at me before pulling the duvet over me and poking my nose carefully. I couldn’t help but smile – I haven’t even brushed my teeth or changed my clothes.

“Justin…” My voice couldn’t stop cracking. He turned around with a smirk on his face.

“Yes sweetie, is there a problem?” He started to walk towards me, slowly.

“I haven’t brushed my teeth yet… or changed.” I rubbed my eyes and yawned. It felt like it was so late but still so early. Justin came closer towards the bed.

“Have you ever seen a candy brush its teeth?” He sat down next to me.

“No but I’m not candy.” I smiled at him – Justin was just too cute sometimes. “Now if you excuse me, I have to go and brush my teeth.” I started walking towards the bathroom, but it didn’t take longer than just a couple of seconds before someone grabbed me and started carrying me towards Justin’s bedroom instead.

“Justin! Let me down!” It was hard to sound serious because I couldn’t stop laughing.

“No! I’m wide awake, so I need company.” You could hear that Justin tried so hard not to laugh.

“Okay, what are we going to do then?” He threw me on his bed and went to turn on the TV.

“Watch horror movies.” Justin smirked at me and laughed when he saw my facial expression. I seriously can’t watch horror movies without crying, screaming or getting nightmares.

“Please, no horror movies. I hate them so much.” I made a sad face and took a pillow to hug. He didn’t seem to care too much, because he decided that we’re going to watch Prom Night. I didn’t know what it was, but I saw the cover and it looked pretty bad to me.
