This poem explains how life can never be defined in a certain way and that we can never take the way our life is for granted.

1. Our lives are sometimes like smokescreens

Our lives are sometimes like smokescreens

We can be blinded, not sure what our next path may be

It’s never crystal clear with a sparkling gleam

But every one of us wishes we could see

We can be engulfed in a single moment,

Believing our lives to follow a certain way,

Often looking back as we lament

What could have been, a different path wished to be laid

It can all work out, dreams fulfilled

Families made, job satisfaction done

Or the deaths of dreams, instantly killed

Like the day disappearing under a setting sun

We never know how things will turn out

Heights reached or hit cruelly in bouts

Our lives are sometimes like smokescreens.
