I Won't Give Up *IN EDITING*

Falling for your best friend is always tough, but Emily always imagined it to be as perfect as relationships come. Holding hands, long walks on the beach, endless kissing. What she couldn't imagine was her relationship to contain fights, tears and heartbreak.

Will fate allow young Emily Downs to be in the perfect relationship she's always wanted, or take her down a dark twisted road full of cheating, hatred, lies and run aways.

Only time will tell for these two lovebirds.

27. only a onetime thing

After leaving Alex’s, I slowly strolled home, trying to fix myself. You know, fixing my hair and shit. And I know what you guys are thinking. But it’s not like that I promise! It was just a onetime thing. It won’t ever happen again.

I took a deep breath before opening the front door to the home and walking inside.

“Emily is that you?” I heard someone faintly yell from upstairs.

I walked straight up to my room to see Ashton sitting on the edge of our bed, looking as pale as ever.

“Emily I’m so glad you’re okay!” he said running up to me and giving me a huge hug, before planting a kiss on my lips.

“I tried calling but you wouldn’t answer! I was so worried.” He said, after pulling away.

“Sorry my phone died and I just needed to go for a walk to get some fresh air.” I smiled at him. I know I know I’m lying, but I can’t exactly just come out and say ‘oh hey I just lost my virginity to my English partner!’

“So hey, Michael called before and wanted to know if we wanted to go to his place for dinner tonight. The whole gang will be there.” He cheered.

“I would love to go!” I smiled at him, before pecking his lips and walking through to our bathroom. I closed and locked the door behind me before going for a shower.

“You ready?” Ashton yelled from downstairs. I took one last look in the full length mirror and checked to see if I looked presentable. I wore a kinda denim looking dress that sat about mid length between my hips and knees, with a long, white necklace to go with it. My hair was curled and flowed down my back and I had just a little bit of make-up on, just enough so I still looked natural. mind you I had to put foundation on my neck to cover up all the love bites left from Alex. remind me to tell him to be careful next time IF there is a next time. I then slid on my black leather converses and grabbed my phone before walking downstairs to meet ash.

“You look beautiful as always.” He said, snaking his arm around my waist and pecking my lips.

“So do you.” I giggled.

We said goodbye to Ashton’s family before heading out to the car. We both sat inside and drove up the road to Michaels place. At least it was only a short drive.

When we drove up the driveway, we both exited the car and he took a hold of my hand before knocking on the door. Sophie soon greeted us and let us inside. I let go of Ashtons hand and gave her a massive hug.

She led us down the corridor and through to the dining room where everyone else was seated. I greeted everyone, making sure I left giving Maddie a hug last. I gave her a huge hug before whispering something in her ear. “I really need to talk to you after.”

“okay.” She whispered back. We both pulled away and I sat down next to her, and ash sat next to me.

The whole time I sat at the table, I kept glancing down at my left wrist.

‘You are perfect to me’ was fading, but still visible on my wrist. Instantly flashbacks of this afternoon came flooding into my mind, and I had the sudden urge to do it again. But why? I love Ashton, and I don’t want to hurt his feelings, but also why was I wanting to do it with Alex again and again?

That’s it. I couldn’t hold it in any longer. I stood up and grabbed Maddie’s hand, before leading the both of us upstairs into one of the guest bedrooms. I closed the door and locked it behind her, making sure what I was about to say didn’t get out.
