I Won't Give Up *IN EDITING*

Falling for your best friend is always tough, but Emily always imagined it to be as perfect as relationships come. Holding hands, long walks on the beach, endless kissing. What she couldn't imagine was her relationship to contain fights, tears and heartbreak.

Will fate allow young Emily Downs to be in the perfect relationship she's always wanted, or take her down a dark twisted road full of cheating, hatred, lies and run aways.

Only time will tell for these two lovebirds.

7. Chapter VII

I searched around in my head, trying to find the words to say. But I just couldn't find them.

"Oh look! There handing out water. Quick drink some then hand it back." I said quickly, trying to avoid the previous conversation. She sighed, but agreed before handing cups of ice cold water back past the security people.

They played a few more songs and interacted with the fans a little bit before Ashton tapped on the microphone, and began speaking. Soon enough everyone stopped yelling, and listened very carefully.

"Hey guys! I just won't to say a massive thank-you to all you wonderful fans that came here tonight to support us. You are all truly 100% amazing. But we're coming to the end of our show now, with us only doing 3 more songs, but it has been one of the best night of my life. This next song is called Heartbreak Girl and it is directed to one special girl in particular. This girl is with us tonight, and for her to just be here has made it perfect. She is all you could ever want in a girl. This song truly explains how I feel about her, and I hope by now he knows who she is. So this song is dedicated to you Emily. I love you." He finished up his speech with shaky hands and began playing the beat to the song, but then stopped.

My jaw hung low, and my body instantly became numb.

What was happening?

Did he just?

Loves me?

Oh my God!

His speech brought tears to my eyes, and soon they were rolling down my cheeks, unable to stop.

I was in awe.

And shock.

Definite shock.

I was the mysterious girl?

And I knew he seemed different when he got on stage.

“Oh my God Maddie,” I choked and she wrapped her arms around me, laughing at me.

“Finally!” She yelled.

"Can we get her on stage please?" Ashton mumbled into the microphone to someone backstage. HE smiled widely before placing his drumsticks on the drum kit and headed straight to me. He jumped down, and thank god the bodyguards were still here, because screams erupted the room once again.

He bend over and helped me climb over the awkwardly high barrier and up onto the stage, so I was now sitting on it. Luke helped me up whilst Ashton jumped up onstage again.

"So you had something planned all along?" I heard Calum whisper to Ashton. He just nodded before he proceeded to his drums once more. He pulled me down onto his lap and got the drumsticks ready in his hands.

I was lost for words.

I couldn’t move my body was a statue.

"You sure you're going to be able to play with me on your lap?" I mumbled, turning around and meeting his eyes with mine.

"We've done it before remember?" He smiled, before pecking my cheek and starting up the beat again. This time the crowd didn't scream, they more cheered at us.

They were cheering.

I felt Ashton’s hot breath on my neck as the familiar lyrics were being whispered in my ear.

You call me up,

It's like a broken record

Saying that your heart hurts

That you never get over him getting over you,

And you end up crying

And I end up lying,

'Cause I'm just a sucker for anything that you do,

And when the phone call finally ends,

You say, "Thanks for being a friend,"

And we're going in circles again and again

I dedicate this song to you

The one who never sees the truth

That I can take away your hurt, Heartbreak girl

Hold you tight straight through the day light,

I'm right here when you gonna realise that I'm your cure, heartbreak girl,

I bite my tongue but I wanna scream out

You could be with me now

But I end up telling you what you wanna hear,

But you're not ready and it's so frustrating

He treats you so bad and I'm so good to you it's not fair.

And when the phone call finally ends

You say, "I'll call you tomorrow at 10,"

And I'm stuck in the friend zone again and again,

I dedicate this song to you

The one who never sees the truth

That I can take away your hurt, Heartbreak girl

Hold you tight straight through the day light,

I'm right here when you gonna realise that I'm your cure, heartbreak girl,

I know someday it's gonna happen

And you'll finally forget the day you met him

Sometimes you're so close to perfection,

I gotta get it through your head that you belong with me instead,

He played the song perfectly as always and after the whole crowd cheered. I spun around on Ashton so I was now facing him, and I straddled him, linking my feet together behind him.

He smiled widely at me, as I cupped his face in my tiny hands. I inched my face towards his so there was practically no space between us.

“Baby.” He muttered before crashing his lips against mine, fireworks setting off throughout my whole body. His soft moist lips moved in sync with mine as the kiss was exactly how I had imagined it hundreds of times. Neither of us cared about the people in the crowd anymore or what they would say. He licked the bottom of my lip, asking for entry. I agreed and soon enough our tongues were fighting for domination but he won, sliding his tongue into my mouth to explore. His hands ran down to my waist and set them there carefully, pulling me closer, as I ran my fingers through his messy hair.

"Hey bro, what do you th- Ashton! Kissing is supposed to be a private thing" Luke joked to us. I smiled onto my best friends lips as we slowly pulled away but still resting our foreheads together, breathing heavily.

After a few minutes of just sitting there, arms now wrapped around his neck, I decided to turn around. And when I did, every single person amongst the crowd had their phones out, recording and taking pictures. Bright lights blinded me as I covered my eyes, not in shame, but because I would rather prefer to keep my eyesight.

I removed myself from Ashton’s lap and walked to the side of stage, locking eyes with Maddie as she stood in the crowd crying, her hands covering her mouth.

God I love her.

They began playing the last two songs of the night Out of my limit and Try hard and everyone cheered and sung along with the boys.

After they finished, Ashton threw his drumsticks out to the crowd along with the boys and their guitar pics, and Michael yelled goodnight before they all exited the stage. Ashton walked up to me and grabbed a hold of my hand once more, placing a soft kiss on the back of my hand, as we headed down the corridor, the boys trailing in front of us.
