My Love, Demetrius; Our Love Story

My father was cruel for forcing Romeo into my life. All he cared about was the money that their family had to offer. But you, my love, were much more precious to me than useless currency. And to think... If my mother were alive, she'd be thrilled to know that I'd be committing to a man with a name like his. Romeo and Juliet. That's who we'd be. Why would I marry someone whom I didn't even have love for? You, dearest Demetrius, made my life joyous each and every day. This is the story of our love.

3. Garden

The night when we finally got together again, we had snuck out. Don't you remember, love? You had thrown pebbles at my bedroom window. My curtains were open, so I had seen you straight away. I still remember the burst of joy I felt in my heart when I saw your face below me. It was late, and I was supposed to be in bed already, but I couldn't resist seeing you. I wouldn't dare miss the chance to be with that dear young server from my party. He'd been in my mind ever since that night.

I tiptoed quickly from my room down to the back entrance after instructing you to meet me in the garden. I instantly ran into your arms, and I felt comfortable in your warm embrace. "My name is Demetrius." you said to me, quietly of course. "You look lovely, Princess."

"Please, don't call me that." I whispered to you, shaking my head. "Juliet." You nodded and took my hand in yours, making me smile. "Lets run."

"Run?" I leaped into the garden without answering. You followed me eagerly with that babydoll grin of yours. We ran around like children for almost an hour without making one peep. You caught me in your arms an twirled me around. I was having the time of my life. But before I knew it the sprinklers had surprised us and we were sopping wet in seconds. I just laughed, and laughed, and laughed. Loud. So loud, that I didn't even care if father caught us. Remember? You tried covering my mouth, but I just giggled harder.

It was my fault that we were caught, but neither of us cared. We shivered in each other's arms until one of Father's guards snatched you from me and wrestled with your arms. You didn't say one word, you just stared at me with your big green eyes. I love your eyes.

We were both sent to the main room, to face my father. My nightgown left a trail of water along the way. I was so cold, we both were. I think I could hear your teeth chattering beside me.

Father stood quietly in front of us. "Juliet, to your bedroom." he demanded. But I couldn't go... What if he had hurt you? Or taken you somewhere without me knowing?

"No, Father." he stared at me coldly.

"Now, Juliet!" He shouted, making me jump. I ran to the top of the stairs, where I could still see everything. He struck your cheek, hard, and I started crying immediately because I had already cared for you so much. Then, Father took you by your wet shirt and threatened you. "If you ever set one finger on my daughter ever again, I'll have you-"

"Father! No, please!" I yelped, running back down and falling to my knees.

"Juliet, you are to never see this young man again. Understood?" I begged and pleaded at his feet. You picked me up off the floor and caressed my face. I told you not to leave me, and all you did was set a kiss on my forehead. Then guards literally threw you out of my home. My heart was feeling sunken and crushed.
