Girl Handbook

Girl Handbook is a guide to the mind of the average Teenage girl, pre-teen, and even adult women. And the crazy hormones girls have. Girl handbook expresses the troubles of the average girl , Girl codes, and the things that normal teenagers just dont want to talk about! This is a book full of how to fit in, the troubles of moving, and how to go from the outsider to the leader. The ups & downs of mother nature. And how life just isnt fair sometimes.

20. It's the INSIDE which counts :)

Imagine these characters.

Name : Estelle

Age: 15

Looks : Blonde hair down to her bum, perfect teeth (whitened), long, pink talons, impeccable fashion, to-awesome-to-be-real-but-it-is tan, flawless skin.

Average grade : A -

Name : Mona

Age: 14

Looks : Mid- length straw like hair (prone to grease), braces, bitten nails, practical dress sense, pale, prone to acne and wears glasses. (See Chapter 18 for more information on spots.)

Average grade : D +

So. Stop. Think. Both these girls are very stereotypical teenagers. Which would you rather be friends with? Which would the majority of typical high school-ers want to be friends with?

Sadly, most of modern society's teens would pick Estelle, just based on her looks, grade or even name!

What if we delve deeper - to their personalities, the thing which truly matters.

Estelle : Dad owns an oil plant, therefore rich enough to buy her whatever she desires, making her very spoiled. Because she believes she can do what she wants, she bullies any girl with less social status than her own, younger or older. She's very popular, and thrives on this, even cheating on her boyfriend regularly merely because she can. She's, in essence, a catty b****. (See chapter 4 for more information on mean girls like Estelle.)

Mona: Adopted, Mona has had just one relationship in her life. Although she treasured this, her boyfriend abused her, mocking her because of her glasses and braces. (For more info on these douche bags, see Chapter 15) She finally dumped him, but he spread rumors about her, yet despite this, she always treats her catty school mates with respect and kindness. She is loyal and trustworthy in addition to this. She hates her appearance.

Now which would you rather befriend? You see girls, it's not the outside, but the inside which matters. Estelle was beautiful on the outside yet twisted on the inside, yet Mona was the other way round. Still, more would befriend Estelle; whether out of fear or thirst for popularity. Don't just follow the crowd (see chapter 11!) and be mean just because they are!!!

If you are like Mona, and detest your appearance, there are solutions, if you really feel you need to resort to them. You can get contacts if you hate your glasses that much, and braces are better to have when younger as you won't be as self conscious and it will benefit you eventually. You can find a variety of spot creams in your local boots/ super drug/ Tesco etc for cheap prices; there are special kinds for teenage skin which don't sting or damage it.
