What Lays Beyond

I have to escort people to the afterlife joy, I'm sure that's a huge turn on for girls. Dating a guy who for a living escorts ghosts to the dead. Then again there's that girl, Liana, she always tries to get to know me. But my parents always have hated her. It's impossible for me to fall in love, I'm an escort I get assigned a wife. But, what happens when an escort falls in love?

3. Finally Understanding

I was deep in conversation with Mila when she and I bumped into two people. Speak of the devils and they shall appear. We had bumped into Liana and her best friend Hailey. Just my luck. Hailey let out a throaty growl as she saw us. Liana just looked shocked though. Like she didn't expect to see us. Mila glared at Liana and Hailey like her life depended on it. "Sorry." I said reaching to help Hailey and Liana up but Hailey hissed at me and I backed away.

"Ugh. You Lumans are so stupid." Hailey mumbled. Liana bit her lip anxiously but said nothing to Hailey.

"Vamps are only idiotic sparkly fairy princesses who can't even fight." Mila retorted back at Hailey. Liana's red violet eyes turned murderous at that remark. It was obvious she was offended by the comment. Vamps, that's what they were. No wonder our parents hated each other.

"We can fight ten times as well as you Lumans can. What are you fighting with ghosts?"  I saw at this comment from Hailey, Mila had brought out her Luman knife used to bring ghosts to Elysium and Hailey had fangs. This couldn't be good. Liana and I shared a knowing look.

"Stop fighting girls." Liana said in a compelling voice. I almost wanted to stop fighting the Luman rules but I snapped myself out of it. "Stop fighting." She repeated herself in that same tone. Both girls nodded and stepped away from each other. "Charmspeak, works every time." She whispered in my ear as she and Hailey walked past me. Well actually she dragged Hailey who was still in peace mode and had been in her own little world past me. But before I got to respond she was gone. Well... that was interesting to say the least.
