TDM: Another Story

Sabrina isnt an ordinary fact, no body is. Stuck in a concentration camp, she has no other option than to break out. What will happen to her friends, herself, or the people afraid of kids like her when she discovers how life is outside of camp?

I give 90% credit to Alexandra Bracken.

5. On the Road to Nowhere (1 week later)

We've been on the road for a week and I have no idea where we are going. No one told me, but I don't want to be the one to ask. Anyway, so far no PSFs, skip tracers, etc. has found us since we've been on the road. I was staring out the window when Liam asked me a question.

"I know I shouldn't pry, but what camp were you from?"

"No offense, but why do you want to know which camp we came from," I asked suspiciously.

"Just curious. If you want, I'll tell you which camp we came from," Liam said.

"Fine, Jess and I went to Thurmond," I said.

"Really? That's, like, the worst camp you can go to," Liam said in complete shock.

"I know that," Jess and I said at the same time.

"Is that a problem," Jess questioned.

"Oh, no! It just the history that place has," Liam exclaimed.

"Which did you come from," Jess pried. "You did say you would tell us."

"We were in a camp in Ohio," Liam replied. "There weren't many kids there, though."

After he said that, something - or someone - hit us hard from behind. I turned around to see who it was. It was PSFs! 'Spoke too soon,' I thought as a guard in the passenger seat pulled out a rifle. Liam made a hard right and all of us lost our balance. I glanced at Zu, with her as pale as a person could be. I went to her side and covered her as bullets came blasting through the windshield. Then I heard a pop, and we were slowing down.

"Damn it! They popped the tire," I heard Liam shout over the noise.

"What are we going to do - Liam, come back," Chubs said as Liam ran out of the van.

Jess went out after Liam to help. 'What are you doing,' I thought, afraid I was going to lose another friend.

"Stay here," I told Zu.

I waited until she nodded before going out to help. I saw Jess hit one of the PSFs in the face, making him bleed. Liam was lifting objects with his mind and throwing them at the guards. But one of them pulled out a small object - the Calm Control. I started to panic.

"Plug your ears," I shouted just before he turned it on.

The noise filled the air around us, all of us screaming in pain. I saw Liam fall to ground, out cold. The Calm Control sometimes affects kids so badly, they lose consciousness. The PSF was walking up to him, ready to put back in the horrible camps. I had to do something. Right when he was about to grab Liam, I ran up to him and pinned him to the ground. The other one was coming after me, but Jess grabbed a rifle that was on the ground and shot him in the leg. The PSF that I pinned down was struggling to get up. 'It's time,' I thought.

"Your going to stop attacking us, get up and leave," I said to the man. "And you won't come to get us again."

After that, I released him from my grip. He got up, went to the car he was in, and drove away.

"What are we going to do with this one," Jess asked, pointing at the bleeding PSF.

"Leave him here. I'm sure they'll come out and get him.

At that, we carried Liam back to the van, and we found out that Chubs and Zu were passed out, too. After we properly put them in the back seats, Jess took the passenger seat and I took the driver's.

"Problem, Jess. I don't know how to drive OR change the flat tire we have," I said. worried about what we are going to do.

"Oh, no! I guess we have to wait until they wake up," Jess suggested.

It wasn't the best idea, but it was all we could do. I'm afraid of what could happen before they wake up.
