4. Tomorrow

The final bell rang declaring everyone's freedom to do whatever they wanted. Some go to parties, some hang out with their girlfriends and boyfriends. Some study for hours, and I'd guess I'm in that category. I put away my books in my satchel and start towards the door. Then someone bumps into me and I spill onto the floor. My papers fly like butterflies held captive by a child who accidentally opens the top of a jar in which he was hoarding them in. I try to retrieve my papers that kids walk past. As I race to get important papers before kids kick them outside into the hateful wind someone picks it up and walks towards me with it. I look down at the tiles on the floor.

"Here,"  A boy says. I look up and what do you know? It's Jake of course just my luck. I take in from him and shove it  in my satchel. I stand up and I go to walk away but he grabs me by my arm. I turn around give him the 'what the fuck' look. The left corner of his mouth turns in a sly smile I really take the time to look at his face.  He has high cheek bones and deep green eyes that burn holes into my flesh. His lips are perfect and I notice other features like the metal in his face on his nose and eye brow. His tattoos.

"What?" I finally say. He lets go of my arm.

"Don't I at least deserve a thank you? I could've been like all the other assholes and just watch you sit there helplessly while you'd try to gather up your papers." I smile angelically and tilt my head to the side.

"Jake you're my savior. I'm so glad God placed you in my life to gather my papers. Thank you so very much." I say and I roll my eyes. He lets out an evil laugh and pulls me close to him by my shirt.

"Don't sass me Charlotte," He says through gritted teeth. He's so close to me. I look up at him, and he looks vicious like some rabid animal. I push him off of me.

" 'Don't sass me Charlotte' " I mock I pick up my satchel and make my way out the front doors. When I get outside I'm choking on the toxic smoke. I hear people laughing behind me as I try to cough out the rest of the smoke that's filled my lungs.

"What? Is it your first time you've ever smelled smoke?" I turn around still choking on the air. A girl with blue long hair says, a cigarette hanging from her lips. I stare at her for a moment. "Hello!" she says. She snaps me out of my trance."I'm talking to you, fucking weirdo." she says and this boy laughs with her.

I shake my head no."N-no." I hesitate. I hear the front doors of the school open again. I stare at the girl until someone is pulling me away. It's Jake I already know. He takes me down the steps and and pulls me to face him. He holds me in his stare and I wasn't afraid to stare right back.

"Hey Jacobs, that's your new girl?" The boy calls to him. Jake breaks away from our bone chilling stare.

"No, just a friend." Jake says. He walks me down the street. Just a friend. I was Jake Jacobs friend according to him. As we trail far away from his friends he finally asks "Where do you live?"

"Don't you have better things to do then to walk me home?" I spit.

"Hmm let me think about it..." Jake places a finger to his temple and looks in different directions. "No I don't actually, but at six I have to go see Daisy. But until then I'm free, why what did you have in mind?" he says raising an eye brow with a smirk. I couldn't help but laugh.

"Nothing, I have nothing in mind." I say through giggles.

"Why are you laughing?" He asks with a bright smile, any star would be jealous of.

"Because your face," I say laughing hysterically. He looks at me and makes funny faces. "Oh my gosh Jake stop!" I say with a snort.

"Oh my gosh I didn't know girls snorted when the laughed!" Jake points out as his voice cracks which makes me laugh more. Then before I know it we are both standing in front of my home.

"I've got to go home," I say trying to stifle my laughter.

"Aw already? We were actually having a good time, you weren't being a bitch." he laughs.

"Yeah and you weren't being a dick," I say feeling comfortable with someone for once. He pulls a piece of paper and a pen from his pocket and writes something on it. I'm expecting a number but I don't look at it right now afraid I might blush.

"Okay I'll see you tomorrow." Jake says as I approach the front door.

"Tomorrow." I say.

"Tomorrow," He says. I repeat him and then he goes on to sing Annie's Tomorrow. I open the door and close it behind me. I open the note he wrote me. It read.

See you tomorrow
