12. Mead, Sometimes it is the Only way to Break the Ice

It has been five days I presume. All that I has changed in my situation is really nothing. I have grown to slightly understand the schedule I'm now conformed to live with.

First thing in the morning, when the sun rises I can here the dragons begin their routines for the day. When the sun is about the third peg on my window is when my first meal of the day comes to me, when the sun is above the window entirely and I can't see it is when lunch comes. Finally when the sun reaches the same place it did in the morning is when my dinner comes, on occasions I get a dessert but that has only been once, it was like a welcome to your home present. I looked out the window pains to see it was a little bit past lunch time, I stretched and rolled off the immense pillow that was now my sleeping courter.
I moved around the room trying to find something to keep myself entertained. I could feel my hands fiddling around underneath furniture trying to find something to grab my attention; not even dust. I slammed my head against the dresser, it hurt but I only did so for the comedy. I could here from my door Alduin's voice swear and yell about the pain. I couldn't help but laugh and hold my stomach. It was more than obvious that he was starting to release I wasn't doing this to kill my self but for entertainment. The first time I did so he came barging in, but now he has started to know that all I was doing was a means to entertain myself.
Falling to my side I rolled on the floor and continued until I was getting light headed and unbalanced. I could here a loud thump and heard Alduin's voice swear and yelled at me to stop. All I did was laugh against the wall and doorway. It took me longer than what was needed for me to gain my composer and to return to boredom. I rolled and turned against the door way, it was cold and nice to the touch.
I had grown to looking through a small crack in the door way and watch what was happening in the halls outside my room. I had also learned that is any tried to open the door while I was there I had more than thirty seconds to run away from it and replace myself in a more proper place in the room. As I looked through the crack it was different this time. No dragon was walking around but instead they where all huddled around in the main entry hall, they seemed to have left the doors open to the hall. I could here the clicks of talons and heavy breathing from them. It didn't take Alduin long for him to join the group, they seemed like a family unite in a way, they hummed. I could here their voices mix together and create base cords. Slowly one by one would sing. They would go in a circle and sing songs of their wins over the humans. It didn't take them long till they got to so of Alduin's kills. He started to smile when they started and he would laugh among them, something so different from the ways we humans have shown him, emotionless in our world but here he was somehow different, and motion filled living man in a way. They continued to sing one song though about him, so rememberable and In a way insulting to all of the mortals.

He's hunted them high 'n' low; He's  looked them in the eye.
He's dream about the perfect way, tae make the mortals die.
Come taste ma teeth ya manky jorre!
He'll hunt ye then He'll skin ye, hang their noggin's on a peg!

Alduin, Alduin
Alduin, Alduin!
You're ancient as the highlands and as unforgivin' too.
Alduin, Alduin
Alduin, Alduin!
Now the time has come for you tae slaughter them all!

He's bigger than a Cuillin, killin' armies with his paws.
Alduin is never happy till the blood runs from his jaws.
He murders in the mountains and he fights with ev'ry jorre.
His teeth and jowls have ripped the hearts fae many a highland man.

Alduin, Alduin
Alduin, Alduin!
He's stolen lads and lassies and wee 'bonnie babies too'!
Alduin, Alduin
Alduin, Alduin!
Now the time has come for you tae slaughter the jorre!

Through glen and bog and peat and fog we'll find your pinky flesh.
And then we'll burn them, make them dance- you mortal that are nae mair.
We'll roast them rump, add haggis and neeps, and fry them blue blood black.
We'll mix a slice of thigh with spice and grill them on the rack.

Alduin, Alduin
Alduin, Alduin!
We'll bile their heed wae dumplin' breed tae make an ursine stew.
Alduin, Alduin
Alduin, Alduin!
Now the time has come for all the dovah tae slaughter them!

He'll make their hide 'a cozy chair', their head upon the wall.
He'll splash a dram of whiskey on their snout at every meet.
Tales will tell from mount to mount of how he slayed the mortals.
And all will toast brave highland dovah at every royal feast.

Alduin, Alduin
Alduin, Alduin!
The legend spreads from fire tae fire, of the black that slew.
Alduin, Alduin
Alduin, Alduin!
Now the time has come for all the dovah to slaughter them!

They continued to sing the song over and over till I had started to sing along. They all laughed even Alduin at the end each time, the drough that started to come in where not helping, each one carding mead it seemed and feed the dragons. Over powered dovah with alcohol running through their systems was the perfect mixture for something to go wrong. Once their round was finished they would repeat the song over till the next round was served. It almost seemed to go for hours till it seemed that many of the dovah had taken in too much mead. Alduin joining the drunk category started to flail around and stumble around. It started to make since in a small way, this was their home their sanctuary and safe place for them. The dragons could be them self and not have to worry about territory and other means.
I gasped to see the dragons laugh and ack like drunken Nord men, the split in groups they seemed to have lost their nature we mortals had known, they seemed fun loving and would joke and tell stories. Some stories spoke of the death of mortals and how they faught weakly, they laughed at the end but there seemed to be some stories that of the slain brothers they had loved, they would grow silent at the end until one of them broke the silence with something good about the fallen brother.
I started to grow tired and noticed and had slumpt over to my side next to the crack. I was more than ready to head off to bed till I heard a drunken remark from one of the younger sounding dovahs.
"That mortal girl, she knows our tongue. Why don't we make her sing a song?" It went silent in the room.
"Be silent Aakdu'ulfaad!" I could here an older dovah reply to his comment, only to here is own remark be disregarded with more than one dragon agreeing with Aakdu'ulfaad.
"We hadn't heard a females voice sing in our tongue in years, we should at least here." They started to argue left and right about weather it was a good idea or not. It didn't take long till Alduin's voiced boomed through the halls and silenced them.
"Bring her here." After I heard those words I ran over to the bed and through the covers over my self and pretended to sleep. The cogs of the lock unlock and slide apart. The light from the hall entered my room. I could here them walk over and push me out of bed. They knew I was faking no one could sleep through the racket they had made over the hours, not even if your where cursed to sleep for all eternity.
I fell to the ground and looked the dovah they had woken me. One pushed my up with his snout and walked behind me till we got to the hall. The dragons formed around me  in a circular fashion and all started to say something different in their drunken states. Pushy in a way would be too light of words for the way they where acting, I had been in this situation more than once, Markarth if I remember correctly. Surrounded by Nord men due to how short I was and yelling at me to sing their songs of how they had killed the dragons. I crossed my arms and and could feel my face boil up, the feeling of being in a group was something I hated but something like this was unimaginable for me. I would glance over to my side and then back at the floor, some of the dragons noticed that I wasn't comfortable with being in the group. Many of the other dragons continues to yell in their state for me to sing.
I could here the song that had spoke of Alduin being brought up by one by one, they sung till they all started to sing along. They didn't move only locked eyes on me waiting for me I act. I gasped for air and felt my voice started to come out slowly till I would stop my self. I could feel my eyes well up with tears till I looked up at Alduin and saw him speaking to one of the drough. The droughs came up to my and held my mouth open and forced mead down. I started to cough and began to grow weak in the mind, I don't handle alcohol well and it didn't take long till I became free. I could feel my real self start to claw itself out.
My hands clenched my dress and my feet started to move to the beat of the song. When the song stopped they all laughed with joy and called out again. Only thing different was that I started them all off.

He's hunted them high 'n' low; He's  looked them in the eye.

My bare feet taped against the floor, the alcohol in my system made me laugh. They laughed and all wondered why my face had turned so red, I would laugh with them and would dance to the song as I sung with them. It didn't take long till I had taken one too many chugs of the mead and walked behind one of the dragons and forced him to the center of the ring and move with me. Clumsy was the best word for what was dancing to the dragons, only thing they really could do was move side to side or in a large circle. They laughed at each one that went in and tried to keep up with me as the night went on. One of the dragons had even fallen to his side from being so disoriented in the dance with me, all I could do was clench my stomach and laugh with all of the dragons, the on that had fallen had started to laugh with us and needed help back up.
Each of the dragons had come into the ring that seemed like a challenge for them to beat me in a dance, Alduin was the last he had seemed to be watching to try and figure out my "methods" of dance. He crouched in the ring and followed my feet and tried to keep up with me, bards college has finally paid off for me. He could keep up with me till I started to turn and move my feet like something alien to them. I turned around him and dance around his blacken scales his head followed as so his body until some misplaced mead made him slip over on his back. I stopped thinking that he would burst in a rage from what my whole life had told me, but he didn't he just rested there till he laughed. We all laughed with him. The courses of that night continued over and over till slowly all the dragons and myself tripped over our selfs to get bed.
I woke up at the foot of my bed with a blaring head ache. I held my head and could here the sound of the doors crank open. Aakdu'ulfaad stood at the door when it was opened. I slammed my head into the bed and moaned.
"So your the one with the headache, Alduin is having one probably due to you." I moaned and nodded my head. "You jorre can't handle alcohol can you, or is it just you? Any way Alduin has desisted your trust worthy enough to leave your room, and your welcome to join us at the time it is to eat." I poked one eye out of my hair and moaned with joy and moved my fist in a yes motion.
