Pinky Promises

"Well tell me something. Tell me a lie." I asked him. He thought to himself for a moment and then smiled. "I hate you." He wrapped his arms around my waist and kissed my forehead. I turned to face him. "Now tell me something true." I whispered. "I love you. I could never hurt you and I never will." He finally spoke. I giggled to myself. "Promise?" I stuck my pinky up at him. He intertwined his pinky with mine and leaned in next to my ear. "Promise."

54. Where's Kaylie?

I woke up that night, well, the midnight-morning area, not able to sleep. Harry was cuddling in on me with his cheek on my neck and his arms wrapped around my waist. I slowly yet gently shifted myself out of his reach and standing straight up off the bed. The window was opened a bit, the curtains were gently breezing up and down. The wind acted as if it was someone's breathing pattern. I sighed to myself, gazing over at Harry. My thoughts were getting a control over me, and I didn't know what to do about it. I walked out of the room and into the kitchen where a pen and a piece of paper laid. Grabbing the both, I placed the tip of the pen on the page and began to trace out the words that came to mind. I felt some emotion come through my stomach as it began to swell and tingle. I finished the note and quickly, I grabbed my coat and keys and made my way out the door.

Harry's POV:

The next morning was different. I rolled over to kiss my beautiful girl, but there wasn't any other body in the room. I opened my eyes and felt the bed sheets. Nothing. Sitting up on the bed, I gazed around the bedroom. Maybe she got up early for a snack. I made the bed and made my way out into the living room/ dining area. Still, no one was in sight. I had a weird feeling in my throat, more like a pain or dryness. I walked over to the doorway as I heard the door open from behind, but it was only Olivia and Niall.

"Hey Harry. We were wondering if you and Kaylie wanted to go get breakfast with us?" Niall suggested. I walked myself in the kitchen and smiled.

"That'd be fun. I think she's in the bathroom. I really need some water." I told them, grabbing myself a glass. "Do you want anything to drink?" I turned around and noticed Olivia reading a note that had probably been laying on the counter. Olivia looked into my eyes, a bit shocked.

"Kaylie's gone, Harry..." is all she said. I gave her a weird look.

"You mean to the grocery store?" I asked, grabbing the note. On the note was familiar hand writing.

"Dear Harry,

I've been thinking a lot lately and at first I thought that we would last. I mean, we have for this far. There's just something that doesn't feel right. Whenever I'm with you, I have the best time of my life. I love you and I want you to know that, but it's just not fair that I've been this girlfriend. It's not fair to you. I'm pulling you too far from your tour and I don't even know what we're going to do if you go on another tour when the kid is born. Maybe I just need some time to think to myself. Maybe we need some time to think.

I paused, looking back up at them. Niall hadn't read it, but I heard Olivia whisper a few things to him. My eyes widened as the paper dropped out of my hand and gently down to the floor.

"Oh my god..."

Liam's POV: It was really early in the morning, but I couldn't sleep. I decided to go wander the halls until I felt myself become sleepy. As I made my way out the door, my path was interrupted by a familiar person, who had bumped into me a bit. I looked to see who it was, Kaylie.

"Good morning, Kaylie." I greet, giving her a gentle smile. She gave me a faint smile.

"What are you doing up?" she asked me, her voice seemed a bit shaky. I let it slide though.

"I couldn't sleep. When I can't I walk around. What about you?" she just looked a bit nervous, which worried me.

"I just needed some fresh air." she smiled, walking with me down the hall. We walked down the stairs in silence until she glanced at me.

"So you and Danielle." she perked up, giving me a bigger smile. I nodded.

"Yeah, me and Danielle."

"Have you guys fought?"

"I don't know a couple that haven't." I stopped. "Why? Did you and Harry fight again?"

"No, not at all." she didn't say anything else, which was worrying me more. I wanted to say more, but I didn't know what to say. We never had a one-on-one conversation with each other before. I breathed in and smiled.

"So how are things with you and Harry?" I asked. She nodded her head, but shrugged after words.

"We're okay I guess."

"Just okay?" she thought for a moment, then sighed.

"I'm suffering with a guilty conscious." she mumbled, making her way in the loby. I followed, grabbing her arm.

"What do you mean?" I asked. She sighed.

"Promise me you won't tell a single soul?" she started.

"Of course. Now what is it?"

"I have no clue where she'd be." Harry stated as we drove down the road for some places that seemed to fancy her interest. Nothing was working though. We had Harry, Olivia, and I in one car while Niall, Zayn, and Louis in another. Olivia had called her phone three times, Zayn called five times, and Louis called twice with three texts. Nothing was working.

"I just wish I knew where she would be." Olivia sighed.

"This is all my fault. If I wasn't so hard on her about Zayn, then everything would of been fine." Harry breathed in and kept searching the neighborhoods. I bit my tongue, I promised Kaylie I wouldn't tell. I mean, I should tell because it is the right thing to do and it's for Harry, but I promised Kaylie I wouldn't tell them where she was headed. I let out a sigh, grabbing my phone. That's when I texted her phone:

"Kaylie, I know you need some time to yourself, but you're scaring the shit out of Harry, me, all of us. Please tell us where you are."
