Pinky Promises

"Well tell me something. Tell me a lie." I asked him. He thought to himself for a moment and then smiled. "I hate you." He wrapped his arms around my waist and kissed my forehead. I turned to face him. "Now tell me something true." I whispered. "I love you. I could never hurt you and I never will." He finally spoke. I giggled to myself. "Promise?" I stuck my pinky up at him. He intertwined his pinky with mine and leaned in next to my ear. "Promise."

Kaylie's POV: The morning before I went to find a job, Harry texted me. I looked at Olivia and back at my phone. "Hey." is all I sent him. "Why would you give him my number?" I asked her. Her blue eyes gazed away from me and over towards the ceiling. "I didn't necessarily give him your number. My phone was just where his was and he entered your number in his." she explained. I sighed, laying down on the couch. Olivia walked out of the room area to the kitchen to make a snack. I decided to walk out to Starbucks to see if they have any job applications that I could possibly use. I ordered a chocolate caramel frappe and sat next to the window. My phone buzzed again as I sat down. "You don't sound like you're happy to text me." he texted me. "You are just another person to me." I said. "I thought you thought of me as a 'self-obsessed' popstar." he texted. As I was taking a sip of my frappe, I noticed a group of people beginning to crowd around the doors.

Then, two people walked in. "God, why can't they just leave?" I heard a thick, Irish accent say. Oh god. "Kaylie?" I heard my name being called. Damn it. I turned around to see Niall and Harry Looking at me. "Hey guys." I said nicely. For some reason, I wasn't as mad as I thought I would be. They sat with me after ordering something. "We were on our way to the studio to meet up with the others." Niall said with a cheeky smile. "Well after this morning, I came here." I said. Harry seemed a bit distracted for some reason. He wasn't making any eye contact and when he did, he seemed too nervous to spare a look. I shrugged it off anyway, it was probably nothing. "Is this a job application?" Niall asked, looking it over. I nodded. "Yes, actually, I needed to find a job so I can get some money to actually pay rent." I informed them. They seemed interested. "Well it was nice talking with you popstars but I must be leaving." Waving goodbye, I began to walk out the door.

Harry's POV: "Harry, I know you fancy her." I heard Niall say. His eyes were only focused on the road, but I could tell he could see me in the corner of his eye. "I do not." I can't fancy her. I mean, I don't fancy her. She texted back: "Hey." "You don't sound like you're happy to text me." I sent. I could tell Niall smiled at me when I was texting. Then I saw her. She was entering Starbucks. "Let's get coffee." I said, helping him find a parking spot. As we got out of the car, she texted me back. "You are just another person to me." She texted. She had just ordered a coffee and had a piece of paper in her hand when she sat next to the window. "I thought you thought of me as a 'self-obsessed' popstar." that's when the crowds noticed us at the door. We rushed in and shook our heads. "God, why can't they just leave?" I heard Niall say. There she was, quietly reading to herself. "Kaylie?" Niall looked over at her. She turned around to see Niall and me looking at her. "Hey guys." she greeted. For some reason, I couldn't speak. It was weird. I got nervous for no reason. We joined her after ordering some coffee. "We were on our way to the studio to meet up with the others." Niall said with his cheeky smile. "Well after this morning, I came here." she said. I had a hard time making eye contact. I felt a bit distracted and distant. "Is this a job application?" Niall asked, looking over the paper she had picked up earlier. "Yes, actually, I needed to find a job so I can get some money to actually pay rent." she informed us. "Well it was nice talking with you popstars but I must be leaving." Waving goodbye, she began to walk out the door. As she walked out, I followed her. I couldn't let her leave without talking to her. "Kaylie...?" I grabbed her wrist. She turned to face me, a bit nervous of what I was doing. I looked into her green eyes. "What do you say about hanging out as friends tomorrow? You and I." I went straight forward on with it. I could tell she had stopped to think when she looked away. She stuck out her tongue and then smiled. "Sure, sounds lovely." Her voice seemed more relaxed. Not like her 'tough guy' voice but her girl voice. Well you know, if that makes sense. "Okay, see you around noonish?" I waved goodbye and walked back into Starbucks. "Okay, we can go now."

After we had the meeting at the studio, I went home. Niall and Louis was double dating with their girls, Liam was probably out with Daniel to find another outfit for her next show, and Zayn was out with Perrie at her 'Little Mix' interview. I was home alone watching the notebook and drinking some tea. I decided to text Kaylie. "Hey(:" I sent. I waited awhile before she texted back. "Hey(: what's up?" "Nothing really(: bored though:/ and you?" I got up and changed the notebook to Family Guy. "Awe sucks. I'm alone in my hotel." She stated. "Hold on." I texted her. "What?" she replied back. "I'll come over so you're not so lonely(;" I texted back. "It's all good, I'm going to bed soon anyway." she sent. "Okay. don't forget we're hanging tomorrow." I reminded her. "Don't worry, I won't forget. I'll talk to you tomorrow." she sent. I slowly smiled at the phone like an idiot. Something tells me that this girl and I are going to be good friends. "Goodnight, Kaylie."
