Pinky Promises

"Well tell me something. Tell me a lie." I asked him. He thought to himself for a moment and then smiled. "I hate you." He wrapped his arms around my waist and kissed my forehead. I turned to face him. "Now tell me something true." I whispered. "I love you. I could never hurt you and I never will." He finally spoke. I giggled to myself. "Promise?" I stuck my pinky up at him. He intertwined his pinky with mine and leaned in next to my ear. "Promise."

30. It's My Fault This Time

We had finally gotten off the plane and into the hotel room. There was a lot of mixing, so it was Liam, Danielle, and I were in one hotel room, with two bedrooms of course, Louis, and Eleanor were lucky to get the one bed bedroom, and Harry, Kaylie, Niall, and Olivia are in the last room. Everyone was now unpacking and I had just started. I was grabbing the first solid colored shirt when the door opened. It was Kaylie.

"Hey Zayn." she greeted with a sly smile. She came and sat on the bed, looking up at me. I gave her a confused look, but shrugged it off.

'You should be exploring with the others. New York is just amazing!" I told her. She sent me a little chuckle and then looked up at me.

"I'm not talking to Harry." she told me.

"Is there another fight?" I asked.

"No, just the one you guys had in the plane." I looked at the floor and back up at her.

"I'm sorry, it was my fault."

"No, you're right. He's been a bad boyfriend." she laid on the bed and yawned. "He didn't even wait for me to go with them." she smiled, shaking her head. "Okay, that was a lie. But he kept rushing me. I just decided to stay here."

"Can I ask you a question?" I began. She nodded. I sat down with her on the bed, grabbed her hands, and looked her in the eyes.

"Do you maybe think we could go somewhere, maybe dine, maybe just hang out?" I asked her. She smiled, giving me a hug.

"Yes! We can call it girls night out with a guy." she joked. I giggled and sat up. "I need to go get changed."  she rushed into the other bed room. I finished putting my clothes away and then walked out into the living room area to watch tv. Girls take forever to pick clothes out, do makeup, and just other nonsense. I went through two episodes of Family Guy before she came out. She wore a black, loose dress with purple and blue poka-dots, a grey over sweater, and black flats. Her hair was in a loose bun with a few front hairs naturally falling, making it look like she took awhile on it. I smiled and got up.

"I'm going to get dressed." I told her, walking over to the door. She grabbed my hand.

"You look fine what you're wearing. Let's go." she smiled, walking us down into the hotel lobby to our car. We drove to an expensive restaurant, that way I could pay for everything, and we got out table. We looked carefully through the menu's.

"Should I get the steak, or the hamburger?" I asked her, She giggled.

"You know I'd pick the bad choice."

"What were you thinking?"

"I'll get a medium rare steak, then." he joked. The waiter came over smiled.

"Hello, may I serve you anything?" he asked nicely.

"Yes, I'll have the medium-rare steak meal with a side of salad and soup. And for the lady, maybe a small salad?" I winked at Kaylie, who then shook her head.

"Not anywhere close. I'll have the same steak meal also with salad and soup with a side of lobster and French fries please?" she gave the mad the menu and looked at me. "I'm feeding for two, remember, Zayn?" I smiled at her and gave the man the menu. He walked away with our orders on his notepad and left us alone to chat.

"Speaking of that baby, has everything been alright?" I asked.

"What do you mean?"

"Well any morning sickness?"

"Actually no, I've been getting worried."

"I wouldn't, you're still early to even get it." I assured her. She smiled and looked up into my eyes.

"Even though your eyes are brown, they're still beautiful." She told me. I chuckled and looked at her.

"Not as beautiful as you." I smiled, grabbing my glass. We had a bottle of Champaign sent to our table. I filled both of the glasses. Our food finally came and we sat there munching away.

"See, if Harry and I just did this for a day, just being friends, It would put so much stress off." she smiled, taking a bit of her steak.

"I know what you mean." I began eating the small side salad. She quickly finished her steak and went onto the fries. "I know it's still too early, but what do you think the baby will be. A boy or a girl?" She thought for a moment.

"I hope it's a boy. Girls these days are so annoying. Especially the little ones who have their cell phones and stuff. When I was little, I only had jump rope, coloring books, and a doll house with one of the Barbie's heads popped off." she giggled. I laughed along with her, she was really funny. She picked at the lobster and smiled at me.

"You want me to finish it?" I asked her.

"If you really want it."

"I guess you couldn't finish for two."

"Well I'll pay for the lobster." she began pulling her wallet out of her purse, but I grabbed her hands.

"No, I'm paying. I'll finish the Lobster. You can sit there and be the beautiful Kaylie Sitter that I have ever met." I winked, eating some of the lobster. We sat in a peaceful silence until I quickly finished the lobster. The waiter came over and took our plates. It was only now that we had to wait for the bill.

"Thanks for taking me out tonight." she thanked me. I nodded.

"It wasn't a big deal." I told her. Her hand was resting on mine when she looked at me. Her eyes looked below mine. She then slowly began to lean in, and so did I. I tilted my head to the right, gently placing my lips on hers. There was a bit of electricity, well, I knew there was. She kissed back, slowly back away. Her smile was bright, her cheeks were rosy red, and her eyes were smiling of joy. She bit her lip and I blushed, watching the waiter come back with the bill.

"Here is your bill, you may come to the register any time you'd like." and with that, we were all on our way. We paid and walked over to the car. She quickly grabbed me and kissed me again, leaning me against the car. I wrapped my arms around her waist, kissing back. I couldn't think straight. This was happening to fast. I quickly pushed her away, looking into her eyes. She looked at me, and then the ground.

"You're Harry's girl." I mumbled. She just stood there and looked at me.

"I know, I'm sorry. You're right, this is wrong. I'm going to go find Harry." That's when we heard another person looking at us. I quickly turned and saw him. Harry.

Harry's POV: I couldn't wait for her a bit longer, the city had to be seen. Besides, I had some important things that I couldn't do in front of her. Tonight's the night. I walked out and rushed over to the flower shop to get ver a thousand dollars worth of flowers to put around the hotel. Then, I rented a nice car to drive around in. I went and got a special mini cake for us to have, just the two of us. Afterwords, I got lots of candles to set up around the apartment as well. It did cost a lot, but it was worth it. I set everything around and then in the living room area, I moved the couches away from the center so I could put a nice white comforter on the floor, put some pillows down, and set it up to where it would be perfect for us to end the night. I slowly went back into my bag and pulled out the little box my mum got me. I opened it up to see that perfect ring. I smiled, this was going to be perfect. I slowly put it in my blazer pocket and walked out of the hotel to get some fresh air. I needed to get some fresh air. I walked the New York City sidewalks, signed a couple autographs, and then made my way over to a lovely restaurant. I saw a couple getting real close onto the car. Except, that wan't a couple. That was my girlfriend and my 'best mate.' I got closer, feeling hurt. I wasn't close to hear what they were saying, but I did notice that he quickly pulled away, shocked to see what was happening. They mumbled some things before turning around and noticing me.

"Oh my god, Harry." I heard Kaylie whine. I just looked at her. "Look, this time was my fault, but I totally know that I shouldn't of. I was just made and-"

"Kaylie, I love you so much, but what you just did hurt me."

"You haven't paid any attention to me, Harry." I could tell she wanted to cry. "You haven't asked about my feelings the baby, or anything that has to do with me." I was even more hurt now.

"Kaylie, I care so much about you, it's not even funny. If this is what I get, then so be it. Go run off with Zayn. Just let me say one thing." I stopped, looking at the two of them. Before I could let them speak, I continued. "Just remember that that baby in there is mine. I'm the fucking father, not Zayn. I will take care of that baby not because we are together or not, but because he is my child." They looked at me and then eachother. Kaylie looked at me.

"Harry, please. I love you. This was a one time thing and I swear it will never happen again."

"This is the one time thing, and so was the last time, and the other time before that. Is that right?"

"Are you saying I'm a cheater?" Kaylie was starting to tear up. I just looked at her. I knew she wasn't a cheater. I knew we were just mad and everything would be fine tomorrow.

"Kaylie, I love you so much. I'm sorry." I mumbled. She shook her head.

"Don't say sorry, this is my fault."

"No, if I had been a better boyfriend, this wouldn't of happened." Zayn quietly stepped into his car and sat there while we talked things out. We sat in silence until I spoke up again. "What does this make us?"

"What do you mean?" she was confused, and I kind of confused myself as well. We looked at each other for a bit longer. "Are you saying that we're breaking up?" I looked shocked at her.

"I wasn't. I could never break up with you again." I mumbled, She looed into my eyes and sighed,

"I know, but it just seemed like you thought we were."

"Well if you think it'd be best for us." I can't believe I just said that. I bit my lip, wishing I would never of said that. She looked away and breathed in very heavily.

"I don't know, Harry." her voice was weak, her eyes were hurt, her face was becoming more pale. We looked at the ground infront of us for awhile before she spoke up. "What do you want us to do?" she asked me. I looked into her eyes and stared. I couldn't speak. This was just so hard.

"Well let me ask you something. Who do you love more?" I asked. She looked away and stared at the car. She looked back at me. she didn't answer. That's when I knew. I shook my head and looked down. She lifted my chin and looked into my eyes. I brushed her hand away and looked at her. "So that's it?" she stared at me, not saying anything. I couldn't say anything else. I didn't know what else to say. I sighed and put my hands in my pockets, feeling the small box. I shut my eyes, slowly letting my hands back out of my pocket so I wouldn't feel that box.

"What else do you want me to say?"

"I want you to say that we can get through this. We can do this on our own." she shook her head and let a tear fall from her eye.

Kaylie's POV: "What do you want us to do?" I asked him. He just looked at me. I could feel myself becoming weaker. I hated this.

"Well let me ask you something. Who do you love more?" he asked. I looked away and stared at the car. I loved you, Harry. Way more than any other being on this Earth. Sadly I couldn't say that. I was too weak to say anything. He shook his head and looked down. I lifted his chin and looked into his eyes. He then brushed my hand away and looked at me. "So that's it?" I stared at him, not saying a thing. He couldn't say anything else. I didn't know what to tell him. He sighed and put his hands in his pockets, but slowly pulled them back out with his eyes closed.

"What else do you want me to say?"

"I want you to say that we can get through this. We can do this on our own." I shook my head and let a tear fall from her eye.

"Harry, I don't know if we can." I suddenly said. I regretted every moment that I did. That was a lie. I knew we could. He just looked at me with a hurt expression. I went to speak up again, but I couldn't speak. Nothing was coming out. I wasn't speechless, but unable to speak. There was a thousand things I wanted to say to him. I wanted to just smash my lips onto his, but it wouldn't do anything.

"So this means we're over?" he said, hurt in his voice. No, please no. I just looked at him with anger.

"Is that what you want?" I asked him.

"It seems to be what you want." he told me. I rolled my eyes.

"Whatever." is all I said. He then nodded his head.

"Well I wouldn't come to the hotel room until I text you." he told me, walking away. I grabbed his wrist and spun him to face me. I gave him a hug for the last time that night before going our separate ways. He walked down the street to the hotel room and we drove our way to Zayn's hotel room.
