Pinky Promises

"Well tell me something. Tell me a lie." I asked him. He thought to himself for a moment and then smiled. "I hate you." He wrapped his arms around my waist and kissed my forehead. I turned to face him. "Now tell me something true." I whispered. "I love you. I could never hurt you and I never will." He finally spoke. I giggled to myself. "Promise?" I stuck my pinky up at him. He intertwined his pinky with mine and leaned in next to my ear. "Promise."

35. I"m So Stupid

Kaylie's POV: The next day, I got some casual and formal clothes on and walked to Harry's hotel room. I smiled as I quietly knocked on the door, waiting for a reply. Harry opened it and smiled at me.

"Hey, Come on in. I'm just going to get changed."  he greeted, letting me in. The room was clean and no one was home. I guess they were all out doing something. We made our way to the bedroom, me going for the little bathroom, and him to his dresser.

"Are we eating out somewhere?" I asked, using the toilet. I heard a faint clearing of the throat from the other side of the door.

"Yeah, because I didn't know what good dinners there was to prepare." He explained.

"Well you know my favorite dinner, don't you?" I asked, flushing the toilet. He chuckled to himself.

"Yeah, but I didn't think you wanted to eat that. Maybe your preggo-like cravings were in the mood for Chinese or Italian food,or something." he replied. I washed my hands and checked myself out in the mirror.

"True, I have been craving buffet food." I told him.

"Well I'll take you out. Hey, is my blazer in there?" he asked me. I nodded.

"Yeah, it's hanging on the back of the door."

" Well can you grab it?" he asked. I haven't seen him in this for awhile. I quickly grabbed it and as I was making my hand pull up to the knob, a little object fell out of the pocket. I looked down, noticing a cube.

"What the hell?" I whispered. I bent down and examined it. It was a box. I  picked it up, opening it. In the box was a golden ring with a carrot diamond. In the loop, it read 'Promises are meant to be kept.' My eyes widened as my hands began to shake in terror. I dropped the ring on the floor, dropping my jaw as well. Oh my god. Who was this for? Was this to me? When did he plan on purposing to anyone? My thoughts were interrupted by a faint knock on the door.

"Kaylie, you okay?" he asked. I quickly picked up the ring, put it in the box, and shoved the box in his pocket. I opened the door and smiled a fake smile.

"Yeah, it's really hard to move when you're pregnant." I lied. He chuckled at me, shaking his head.

"If you say so." he then noticed his blazer. "Wow, I haven't seen this since the night we broke up." he mentioned, putting it on. "It still fits."

"Wait, you haven't touched it since then?" I asked, a bit shocked.

"Yeah, I know. Weird isn't it?" he smiled and put his hands in his pockets, quickly pulling them out. He noticed that I saw this action. "I guess I didn't leave any money for myself. Let's head out." he quickly turned around, heading to the door.

Harry's POV: I was in the bedroom changing when Kaylie was using the bathroom. She's been in there for awhile now, I was getting a bit worried.

"Kaylie, you okay?" I asked after knocking on the door. I heard a couple of pattered footsteps and the door being opened. I gave her a reassuring smile.

"Yeah, it's really hard to move when you're pregnant." she told me. I shook my head, she was over exaggerating a bit.

"If you say so." I then noticed my blazer in her hands. "Wow I haven't seen this since the night we broke up." I mentioned, regretting it afterwords. I put it on and smiled. "It still fits."

"Wait, you haven't touched it since then?" she asked me. She seemed a bit shock by this.

"Yeah, I know. Weird, isn't it" I smiled and put my hands in my pocket. My fingertips felt a small box that felt a bit soft at touch. Shit, the ring. I quickly took my hands out. She seemed to notice this action. "I guess I didn't leave any money for myself. Let's head out." I rushed to the door, hoping she wouldn't notice my awkwardness. I helped her out of the building and into the car.

"So what restaurant are we going to?" she asked me, putting her seatbelt on. I got into my seat and put mine on as well.

"I guess we're going to that buffet down the street."  I replied, driving down the road. As we got closer, I could see that Kaylie seemed a bit uneasy. I looked at her and smiled.

"You alright?" I asked her. She gave me a shy smile and a tiny nod. Something was up, and I was very curious of it. When we got to the place, I helped her out and walked with her inside. The guy at the front smiled.

"Hello, table for two?" he asked. I nodded.

"Yes, me and her."

"You both are a beautiful couple." he complimented us. I looked at her and then back at him.

"No, uh, we're not... together. Erm, we once were but then no more, then back together... and then not..." Kaylie interrupted me with a obnoxious laugh.

"Can we just have our table" she asked, letting out a loud giggle. I looked at her. We followed him down and into this fancy section. I helped her sit down and we took turns getting up from the table. First her, and then me. That way we could order drinks faster. When we both had our food, we began eating. I often glanced over at Kaylie, noticing that she was a bit nervous.

"Kaylie, if there's something wrong, you can tell me." I told her. She just shrugged and bit into her salad. "What do you mean, you don't know?"

"I'm just in a weird mood tonight. I'm sorry. Let's talk about you." she said, shoving her mouth with some lettuce. I sighed.

"Well in a few weeks, we will be leaving New York and going to the next place, Pittsburg." I explained. She nodded, a bit interested. "Maybe we could all eat out. You, Me, Zayn, Liam, Louis, Niall, Olivia, Danielle, Eleanor, and you know... Perrie." I mentioned. She had a little smile on her face.

"No one's suppose to know. I don't think she'll come." she told me. I gave her a small laugh.

"I know, but still. They will be together sooner or later. I mean, It's Zerrie." I said, taking a sip of my iced tea. It was quiet for a little more until I looked up. I saw Kaylie with a few tears in her eyes. One tear in her eye and another slowly running down her cheek. "Kaylie, what's wrong?" I asked her, letting go of my fork and knife. She got up from the table and grabbed her napkin.

"I'm sorry, I'll just be a moment." she whispered, unable to speak. And with that, she rushed out of the building. I quickly tipped the waiter and rushed out. She was standing next to a tree with her hands almost blocking her face. The napkin a bit covered in the makeup she wore and her face a bit red-shaded. I walked over and looked her in the eyes.

"Babe, what's wrong?" I asked, bitting my lip. Did I really just call her babe. Her face slowly stiffed up as she wiped the tears away.

"I don't know why I'm crying. It's not even a big deal." she mumbled putting a smile on her face. It was a bit faded but she had a look on her face that told me to not ask. Obviously, I was going to anyway.

Kaylie's POV: The whole night I was thinking about the ring. What if that was for me? He's not seeing anyone and he told me he hasn't even laid a finger on the blazer since the night we broke up. What if the night we broke up, the night I cheated on him, was the night that I would of been engaged? I felt a little tear run from my cheek, another one forming in my eye. I felt a pair of eyes on me.

"Kaylie, what's wrong?" he asked me, letting go of his fork and knife. I got up from the table with my napkin in my hand.

"I'm sorry, I'll just be a moment." I whispered, unable to speak. And with that, I rushed out of the building. I quickly ran over to the nearest tree and blocked my face a bit. I really needed to stop crying, I could tell the paparazzi would be around. I wiped my face a bit more, the mascara had ran so much, it was smeared on the napkin in a big blob. Then I noticed Harry and I looked up. He was staring in my eyes.

"Babe, what's wrong?" he asked, biting his lip. I ignored the 'babe' and stiffened my face. I wiped the ongoing tears away.

"I don't know why I'm crying. It's not even a big deal." I mumbled, putting on a fake smile. I just really hoped  he wouldn't ask.

"Kaylie, please tell me. Please." he grabbed on my hands and squeezed them a bit. "I'm not letting go until you tell me." he mumbled. I brushed them away, anyway, and backed up a bit.

"I'm so stupid." I whispered. He shook his head.

"The mother of my child is not at all stupid. She's beautiful, caring, funny..."

"She also cheated on you..." I stopped, looking at him. He didn't say anything. He just looked at me. He breathed in and sighed. "...I ruined our future."

"Kaylie, It's okay."

"Harry, it's not okay." I then stopped and looked into his eyes. "Can I ask you something?"

"Of course." he smiled, looking into my eyes once again. I slowly breathed in and sighed.

"That night we broke up... where you going to... p-pp-ur-r-p-pose to m-mee-ee?"
