Pinky Promises

"Well tell me something. Tell me a lie." I asked him. He thought to himself for a moment and then smiled. "I hate you." He wrapped his arms around my waist and kissed my forehead. I turned to face him. "Now tell me something true." I whispered. "I love you. I could never hurt you and I never will." He finally spoke. I giggled to myself. "Promise?" I stuck my pinky up at him. He intertwined his pinky with mine and leaned in next to my ear. "Promise."

4. Great Day, Bad Ending

Kaylie's POV: Olivia never came home last night, but she did tell me she was staying the night at Niall's. Ever since we got to England three weeks ago, she's been out. The concert wasn't that long, but she's also has been at her job. It was already 10:45am, close to when Harry and I are suppose to be hanging out. I hopped into the shower, put on shorts with a 'I Hate Mondays' t-shirt with a sweat shirt over it, and kept my loose curls flowing down from my head. I applied some mascara and eyeliner and I was ready. I looked at my phone and noticed a text from Harry. "Hey(: I'll be over soon!" he sent. I looked through my phone some more, noticing Ryan's number. I decided to call it up . "Hello?" he didn't seem to know it was me. "Hey babe! I miss you!" I told him. He seemed a bit distracted. "I do too. Can I call you back I'm kind of... mm... busy?" he said. "Hun. are you okay?" I asked him. "Huh? yeah I'm just busy." he said again. he was scaring me a bit with his pauses. "Ryan?" "I got to go." he hung up.

I shook it off when the door had a visitor. I answered it and saw Harry smiling at me. "Ready to go?" he asked me. "Yeah, uh..let me get my coat." I mumbled , grabbing my coat and keys. we headed out to his car and began to drive. "Where are we going?" I asked him politely. He shrugged. "This way." is all he said. I turned on the radio to hear one of One Direction's songs playing. it was kind of catchy. I got into the song, singing along. Harry looked at me. "So you do like us.?" he smiled. I shrugged. "You guys have good music." I informed him. The roads started to get less crowded and more empty. The radio began to play more country. Harry was humming it, and so was I. I also began to sing the lyrics to the ones I knew. We finally stopped in a little town at a bakery. "Where are we?" I asked him. He smiled. "My bakery." I smiled, but then I was very puzzled. "My parents don't work today and I needed an extra hand. Since you are an excellent cook when it comes to pancakes, I thought you'd love to join." he explained. "Let's get working, shall we?" I rushed into the bakery and got my apron. Then. we went behind the counter.

"First things first, we are making a wedding cake. Get out the yellow cake mix and white frosting. I'll get the cooking utensils." he informed me. I got the cooking ingredients and walked back over to him. We got eggs, milk, and all sorts of other things we may need for later. "You think we can do this?" I asked him, sarcastically. He gave me the 'did you just ask me that' look and smiled. "Of course we can." I grabbed some bowls and a pan for the mix to go in. He began to make the cake mix as I was grabbing the frosting. When I turned around, I felt a cold spoon sweep across my face. It was the cake mix spoon. Harry was laughing at himself, slowly backing up so I wouldn't hit him with frosting. "You're lucky we need this frosting." I told him. We put the cake mix in to bake. "Now we need to make chocolate chip cookies?" I shrugged, getting out a mixer. As the mix was being made, Harry walked over to grab a spoon. I grabbed an egg and as he turned to face me, I smashed the egg all over his hair. His face was in utter shock. "Fine, no spoon lick for you!" he said, turning off the mixer. He grabbed a spoonful of cookie dough onto the spoon. "No! That was payback! I want some cookie dough!" I begged like a little girl. he rolled his eyes, giving me the spoon. "Why thank you!" I said, eating the cookie dough. When I finished, he was already decorating the cake. I evenly divided the cookies onto the pan and put them into the oven. I turned around to walk over to harry, but he through flour into my face. "Harry!" I screamed, pushing him. He was now dying of laughter. "I'll get you back." I said, walking to the cake. I grabbed the remaining white frosting and started spreading it all over his face. He pushed my arms away, tickling my sides. "Harry stop!" I said, trying to back away. He wrapped his arms around my waist so I wouldn't escape. There I was being tickled like crazy in the worst spot to be tickled. "Please! stop! I'm done!" I couldn't stop laughing. Finally, he stopped. "Can you help me on this cake. It needs a bit more design. It is outlines with lavender frosting already, but I need to make the finishing touches. The tops of each stack needs to have two hearts. A big one and a smaller on." he explained. Wow, that cake looked gorgeous! I have no clue how he made it look like a real wedding cake, but I can say that he's magical or something! I nodded and grabbed the light pink frosting. I then began to trace a big heart in the upper part of the cake. He shook his head, putting his palms on the back of my hands. He lead my hands in the direction of finishing the heart. "You smell like egg." I whispered. "You smell like a cake." he smiled. Next was the smaller heart right next to it. It slowly traced it and looked at me. "Now, fill it." He told me. "You can do that right? he sarcastically said. I filled it in and stuck my tongue out. "Actually, I can." I replied.

After a few hours of cooking, it was time for closing. It was already an hour before sunset. "We have one more place we still have to go." Harry lead me to the car and we drove out of the parking lot. "That was actually really fun. Thanks for hanging with me today." I told him. "No problem, thank you for hanging with me." he said. We finally got to this beach area. The sun was slowly setting, the water following its ocean patterns, and the cool breeze against my neck felt amazing.  "You hungry?" he asked me. I nodded. "I bet I can beat you down there?" His eyes smiled at me as he began to run down. I raced with him, pushing him a bit so I could be in front, but he was doing the same thing. We finally got to this picnic area. There was Champaign, music, and a bag of Nando's. My favorite. "Did you plan this?" I asked him. He nodded. "I had my sister's boyfriend set it up ten minutes before we left the bakery." He told me. "Is this a date?" I asked him. He shook his head. "It seems as if you really want to go on a date with me though." I giggled at him. Somehow, he was a bit right, but I didn't want to have a couples date. just a date as friends. Besides, I have a boyfriend. "You're not as bad as I said you were." I told him. "What do you mean?" he tried to act dumb so I'd explain it. He poured me a glass of Champaign  "I don't really know how to explain it I guess." I took a sip of my Champaign. "You mean you were wrong about me and you lost our bet?" he winked at me. "Let's just see how this night goes." I told him. "Oh, did you know that I love Nando's?" I asked him. "Realy? I like it too but not as much as Niall." he explained. "Oh that boy. He's crazy. At least he's making Olivia happy." I told him. He smiled at me and began to eat his food. I did too. After we were done eating, the song Fifteen by Taylor Swift came onto the radio. He got up and held out a hand. I got up as well, grabbing his hand. "Want to dance?" he asked me. I smiled. "I'd love to." I told him with a girly voice. He chuckled, putting one arm around my waist. His other hand intertwined with my hand as my other hand was resting on his shoulder. "You know, when I was fifteen, this song was actually coming true." I told him. "Really? Was it with that Ryan kid?" he asked me. "No, it was with this 'Jimmy Joanowski.' He was my high school crush until senior year when I met Ryan." I explained. "What about you?" I asked him. "Well, I liked this Junior girl when I was a freshmen. She was amazing but she had this party animal side to her. I liked it but when I found out that she was a... slut.. I decided to move on." he told me. "Awe, poor puppy." I whimpered like a dog. He chuckled. "No, now I just have amazing friends." he told me. I smiled, resting my chin on his shoulder. That's when I heard my phone ring. "Oh, excuse me." I pulled away and walked over to the grassy area to answered. "Hey, Olivia, I can't talk now I'm-" "Ryan's cheating on you."

I stopped. Did I hear that right? "What?" I looked over at Harry's car. "Casey called..." as she was telling me details, I remembered Casey. His ex girlfriend who cheated on him. "...When we left America. That's how long, Kaylie. They're sneaking around. She confessed." Olivia told me. I hung up on her. I can't believe I'm hearing this right now. I called him up. "Hey babe, I'm work can I call you-" "When you're not locking lips with Casey?!" I stopped him. "Babe, let me explain." I could feel my eyes begin to water. My vision getting blurry. "What is there to explain, Ryan?" I asked him. "Look, it was one night, we got drunk. I regret it all, babe." he told me. "I didn't mean to." I quickly wiped my face so Harry wouldn't noticed me. It was too lately. He was slowly realizing that I wasn't happy.. "Who do you choose, Ryan?" I asked him, walking to the car. "She's pregnant, Kay..." it just seemed to get worst. he was choosing her. I hung up on him and quickly made my face less noticeable. I walked back to the picnic and looked at Harry. His face went from smiling to sad in a few seconds. He saw my face. He knew something was up. He got up and hugged me. I buried my face in his chest. "He cheated, Harry! He's a cheater!" I kept saying. he was rubbing my back so I would calm down. "I'm so sorry, Harry. This is all amazing and I had the best day with you but I really don't want you seeing me like this." I told him, pulling away. His shirt was soaked in my tears, which made me cry even more. "Hey, it's okay. I understand. Let's just get home." he said. He was really sweet. A great friend. he packed the stuff up and we got to his car. He put everything in the back and looked at me. "Harry..." I whispered. He wrapped his arms around my waist. "She's pregnant." I told him. He looked into my eyes. "It's his... I just know it." I hugged him again. I just can't believe I look like this right now. "I'm so sorry." is all he said. That's all I really wanted him to say. I didn't want him to ask anything, I didn't want him to judge. I just wanted to go home.

Harry's POV: I can't believe this. This beautiful, outgoing girl was now crying her eyes out. I couldn't take her crying. She's my best friend. She really was. I took her home and helped her into her hotel. Damn paparazzi made it harder to enter the building though. No one was here, Olivia left a note saying she was staying at Niall's again. I helped her into her bed and sat next to her. "You're a great friend, Styles." she mumbled, slowly falling asleep. She had a busy day today, I'll just let her rest. I kissed her forehead and walked out of the room.
